***Added 7/23/15 – please read this announcement ***
If you have purchased from Mentality from April 2015 – June 2015 and you are experiencing sensitivity, itchiness or burning, please contact Mentality directly to have your polishes replaced. Their email is [email protected]
I personally did NOT experience any reactions when using these polishes, but many did. Please know I would have been fully transparent had I known the damage that was being caused. Again, please read the announcement above and by clicking on it, you will be taken to Mentality’s initial statement regarding the issue.
Over the last 2 years I have acquired over 200 Mentality Nail Polishes. Easily my most owned indie brands. If you go into my Swatch Gallery Mentality dominates a large portion of the gallery.
One of the main things I love about Mentality is that their polishes are readily available for the most part. If I run low on one of their polishes (which I have) I know that they keep a good stock of their polish and I can go and purchase it without hassles or waiting on restocks.
Over the years, they have expanded collections to add new shades, well after I already reviewed the original collection. This post is basically referred to as a “Swatch Spam Saturday” because I was sent shades that were additions to already existing collections, so I couldn’t name it after the collection as I would normally do. After each shade I am about to show you, I will include a link to the original post for the collection it is a part of in case you want to see more like it!
Sit back and enjoy the spam!
Lollipop is a gorgeous addition to the Candy Jelly Holo Collection. This is a gorgeous red-purple jelly holographic polish. This collection is hands down one of my favorites they have put out with vibrant colors and a wonderful linear holo. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Full Candy Jelly Holo Review – I have all shades from this collection except for Cotton Candy.
Have you experienced a Mentality Nail Polish matte shade yet? For me, their large selection of matte shades hooked me immediately, you will see why in a moment.
Gorgeous was an addition to the Red Ombre Matte Collection. If was originally a 5 piece addition, and Gorgeous made it a collection of 6 as the darkest matte in the collection. This is a deep reddened black matte. Very vampy and … well… gorgeous! I used 2 coats for these photos.
Remember I said their mattes are special? Here’s why.
Gorgeous with Top Coat
Look at that shimmer come to life! Pretty much all their mattes (aside from Rascal) have this gorgeous shimmer that comes to life!
Sovereign is the 6th shade added onto the Pink Mattes Collection. This is a blackened pink matte shade. Just like Gorgeous, this has a shimmer that comes to life with the use of top coat.
Sovereign With Top Coat
Withstand is an addition to the Dark Mattes Collection. This one just looks like a deep dark matte, and it is, but when I applied top coat, I was stunned. It’s gorgeous. I know I keep saying that about these polishes, but it is.
Withstand is a blacked blue matte shade. I used 2 coats for these photos, and below, you will see it with top coat too.
Withstand With Top Coat
It’s subtle, but the blue shimmer is beautiful!
These next 2 swatches are”One Offs” which I haven’t done a ton of. Mentality has about 8-10 “One Offs” on their site which were either special requests or just polishes that aren’t actually part of a collection.
Carpe is a blackened pink toned red, that shifts to orange, yellow, and green, with hints of blue. It’s shimmery, shifty and just plain amazing. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Diem goes with Carpe as far as name goes and is also part of the “One Offs” section! Diem is a blackened yellow green, that shifts to green and silvery white. Another shimmery creation. I really hope Mentality expands and makes more shades like this one. I love their mattes and holos and jellies to bits… but Carpe and Diem are amazing as well.
While I don’t have a ton of “One Offs” to show you, I was able to show you all the gorgeous shades that complete past collections I’ve reviewed. Make sure you click through to those and take a look at all the fabulous shades and range of colors Mentality has created. One thing I can say with absolute certainty is that they do make quality polishes, and after 2 years and over 200 bottles of their creations, not 1 has an issue as far as separation or application even now, 2 years later. Seriously, you can test me. Want me to reswatch an older shade… request it in the comment section.
At the current time Mentality is making some changes with the matte shades and they have current stock of mattes at a jaw dropping price of $4.00 a bottle (check it out here) I already purchased a few I didn’t already have!

I will have even more Mentality shades to show you soon, and maybe one of these days I’ll do a post on my Mentality Nail Polish collection. It’s massive and I absolutely love it! Again, if there is a shade you want me to revisit, or even compare to other Mentality shades I own, let me know.
