Polish Pickup June 2025 | Vacation Destinations

Happy Wednesday! I finally had more time to sit and type out the post for the June 2025 Polish Pickup shop… and the theme this month is Vacation Destinations!

We will be looking at 56 items this month!

For the fine details – for all photos shown – I used a clear latex peel off base, and for the glossy photos I did Monarch Lacquer Hi-Def Shine Top coat (sent as PR and I’ve also purchased.. and that’s an affiliate link).  For all textured polishes, I did use Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber (PR) and Monarch Lacquer top coat over it. 

For my lighting setup, since I use artificial lighting due to my day job, involves 2 Neatfi XL Lamps from Amazon (affiliate link) as well as this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).

And lastly – I do use artificial gel nails that I do myself at home. In this post (and video) I am using Apres Gel X Nails in Extra Short Stiletto, which are clear nails. I do not use blurring base coats or anything to increase opacity of the nails – and it shows during my YouTube videos especially. With the clear nails, if you can see through the tip still – then odds are you will also see VNL through the polish I have on. If you cannot see through them, then opacity was likely reached.

I did get a new camera a little over a month ago and I’m still getting the hang of it. I now have a Nikon Z30 which is a little fancier than my previous Nikon L830. If I see any discrepancies in real life and my photos – I will mention it.

Cuticle Oil by BCB Lacquers | Tropic Like Its Hot!

Inspiration:

Description: *Tropic Like Its Hot!* Cuticle Oil has scent notes of: Pineapple, Mango, Blackberry, Jasmine, Waterlily and White Musk. Oil is in a 6mL click pen container with a TWIST off cap.

This does smell very tropical and the floral and fruits mingle nicely together. I’m a big jasmine fan, but it’s a softer jasmine in this mix. For me, the pineapple is the star scent by a lot

Inspiration: Inspired by a recent trip I took to the beautiful island of Nassau in the Bahamas!

Inspiration: Inspired by my toxic trait that if Jurassic Park was a real vacation destination, I would still totally go.

Chamaeleon Nails | Whispers of Camargue

Inspiration: Inspired by my favorite vacation destination as a child – the Camargue in Southern France. We stayed there every year in a village called Salin de Giraud, and on the way to the sea, we drove along beautiful salt lakes, they call them ‘Marais Salants’ which means ‘salt gardens’. 

Description: Whispers of Camargue is a smokey medium blue (cold) to minty almost spring like green (warm) and under UV light it transitions from purple (cold) to magenta (warm).

I also used a UV flashlight for the UV transition since I do my photos and such at night.

Since this is a solar – you also have to be sure to use a non UV blocking top coat or it will dampen or stop the solar transition. I used Alchemy Lacquers Solar Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

Clionadh Cosmetics | Devil’s Bridge

Inspiration: Inspired by the natural rock arch named “Devil’s Bridge” in Sedona, Arizona. This popular hiking area is known for its red rock sandstone which is beautifully juxtaposed by the green tree and shrub species that thrive in its unique climate.

Cuticula | You Had Me At Aloha

Inspiration: Inspired by Hawaii. 

Description: You Had Me At Aloha is a bright tropical green with green/gold/red/orange/fuchsia iridescent flakes.

I used 3 thin coats and a glossy and matte top coat for these photos.

My camera muted this base a bit and I did need to edit it to bring it back as close as possible to the actual color. I still feel like it’s muted though. Please see video for a closer version, as that wasn’t as muted.

This polish shifts depending a lot on lighting. In direct lights the purple base shines through, but in indirect light the shimmer deepens it.

KBShimmer | Fillin’ Groovy Ridge Filling Base Coat

Inspiration:

Description: First off… I know. I don’t have ridges – I have smooth af fake gel nails without a single ridge anywhere in sight.

Hear me out though. I obviously don’t wear shades like this for a ridge reduced/free look – I wear it for a sheerish wash of color that I love as a base for stamping or for water slide decals. Or if I want to wear a palate cleanser polish – this is it. It also is a good base coat whether you have ridges or not.

If you have ridges and want a nice base or palate cleanser – here you go.

About the item though – Every polish wearer needs a good base coat. Fillin’ Groovy is a base coat that acts like double-sided sticky tape. It helps to create a long-lasting bond between the nail and polish while filling ridges for smooth application. It also helps prevent staining.

Inspiration: Inspiration is based on Punalu’u Sand Beach on the Big Island in Hawaii.

This is a cold reactive thermal, so applied and the main color will be the warm color (sage) and it needs cold to flip to the deeper shade (cobalt)

Inspiration: it’s summertime and it’s June! Paradox wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but in San Francisco at the Golden Gate Park, Delores Park, Castro and City Hall for PRIDE….Dancing with my friends to Gloria Gaynor’s I will Survive. The picture used for inspiration is created by a local artist that I bought this artwork from @cuppafog

Royla Lee | Pumpkin Pathway

Inspiration: Royla Lee was inspired by Halloween at Tivoli Gardens in Denmark.

I did experience light staining on my gel x nails from this polish. A little extra remover rubbed it off after a couple tries.
