June 2018 Releases

I had kind of planned on having this post up this afternoon, but then I slept in and my son wanted to see the Hans Solo movie. We just got back from the movie. I’m not a huge Star Wars fan and can honestly tell you very little about the newer episodes and things like that. My son is a massive fan though. He can tell you who everyone is, their history, who they’ve deceived, etc etc. But he’s my little boy and wanted to see this movie, so I wasn’t going to say no.

About halfway through the movie I glance over to see just how into it he is (usually he’s staring with his mouth open and I’m waiting for drool to dribble out) but no. He’s passed out. The new movie was so exciting to him, he was asleep an hour into it. So I shook him awake, cause if I have to sit through it – so does he.

Afterwards I spent entirely too much money in Target and headed home.

So now, I can sit down and type out my Tonic Nail Polish June 2018 Releases! And don’t worry – they are worth the wait.

We have 14 new polishes coming to the Tonic shop and 13 of them will definitely be available until end of July. Only 1 polish is more limited and only 450 bottles will be available (don’t worry I’ll point out which one in the description)

Of the 14, I have 13 to share today!

In this release we have 4 magnetic multichrome toppers, 4 regular multichromes, 2 multichromes with magnetic multichrome pigment (I feel like this is turning into a tongue twister) and then 3 shimmery shades.

For all of the magnetics I used an arc magnet which repels the magnetic effect rather than pulling it in like the bar does. With the bar magnet you generally get a line effect, or a curve if you use the corner and for my photo style it can make the colors in the magnetic effect be harder to photograph.  So please note that if you are using a standard magnet – your effect will not be the same as mine – I’m simply trying to show the magnetic pigment better. I purchased the arc magnet from Lantern & Wren and it’s currently out of stock – but she might be restocking it or something similar in the future.

For the bar magnet – if you don’t have one, you can purchase it in the Tonic Nail Polish shop.

Alright – lets jump in! We’ll start with the normal multichromes and then move into magnetics and finish with shimmers!

Bliss

Bliss is an aqua to blue to lavender multichrome and it has shimmery fleck particles throughout. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Calcifer

Calcifer is a multichrome that shifts from a bright fiery red to burnt orange to yellow to green. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Cool Kinda Sexy

Cool Kinda Sexy is a multichrome that shifts from a deep blue to purple to magenta pink. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Fleurescent

Fleurescent is a multichrome that shifts from magenta pink to gold to green to blue. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Tonic will be upping the pigment in this one so that only 2 coats will be needed vs the 3 I used.

Better On Top

Better On Top is the first of 4 magnetic toppers I’ll be showing! This is a shimmery magnetic multichrome topper that shifts from magenta to gold. I used 1 coat over a black creme and an arc magnet for the effect.

Here Comes The Sun

Here Comes The Sun is another magnetic topper! This one shifts from gold to copper to blue at extreme angles.  I used 1 coat over a black creme and an arc magnet for the effect.

Mirabilis

Mirabilis is a magnetic multichrome topper that shifts from green to blue to purple. I used 1 coat over a black creme and an arc magnet for the effect.

Stardust

Stardust is the final multichrome magnetic topper! This is a topper that shifts from peach to gold to green.  I used 1 coat over a black creme and an arc magnet for the effect.

Some combos I did with the toppers!

Better On Top & Mirabilis

For this look I did a black creme base and 1 coat of Better On Top and Mirabilis. I used the Tonic bar magnet and using the corner of the magnet, I did a sort of curve for it.

I initially did this mani to show off a Nogu bracelet I received.

Here Comes The Sun & Better On Top

For this I used a black creme base, added 1 coat of Here Comes The Sun and used the arc magnet to push the magnetic pigment out to the edges. Then I used 1 coat of Better On Top and used the Tonic bar magnet to bring it into the center.

Jubilee

Jubilee is a multichrome that shifts from green to blue to purple to pink and also contains yellow gold magnetic pigment. I used 2 coats and no top coat for this mani. Why no top coat? It was late and I don’t know. I also used the arc magnet for these swatches.

Lips

Lips is a pink to gold to green multichrome base with aqua to lavender shifting magnetic pigment. I used 2 coats for these photos and no top coat.

Now onto shimmers!

Lizard Dance

Lizard Dance was incredibly hard to photograph for me, so please refer to other bloggers for a better idea on this polish. My light set up drowned out the base color and picked up all the shimmer. In person, you can see more of the mustard yellow – olive greenish base color.

Lizard Dance is a mustard yellow – olive green creme base loaded with red-orange to gold multichrome shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Hot To Trot

Hot To Trot is a neon fuchsia pink jelly base with blue aurora pigment. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Pepper

Pepper is the limited shade in the group – and it’s got Unicorn Pee in it! This is a deep, dusty  purple base with unicorn pee pigment that shifts from red to gold to green. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Only 450 bottles will be available and once they are gone, they are gone. This is the only limited polish in the group.

Tonic Nail Polish June 2018 Releases

All 13 of the shades I received applied beautifully and all have their own little flair to them. I enjoyed the magnetic toppers the most and love the combos you can do with them. You can of course use them over colors other than black, I just felt it showed them best for this post.

Price: $10.00 – $14.00 Each | The Whole Shebang Price is TBA

I purchased it from Lantern & Wren, but they are sold out right now! They might get more in, but it’s iffy right now!

You did an Amazing job ! I now can see what they look like and I really needed a good swatcher to show me. This is basically the first time I’ve seen them. You were able to make my decision very easy for me. Thank you.
