Salon Perfect Spring 2015 Pastels Swatches & Review

Press Sample

I’ve been showing neons on social media, but lets tone it down a little with some pastels!  Salon Perfect has released a set of 6 pastels for Spring that are available exclusively in Walmart.

*Edited to add* I have gotten some messages and comments that some readers cannot find these shades.  These are part of the new core line so they aren’t seasonal or limited edition!  So be patient and you should be able to grab them for awhile.

Let’s take a look at all 6 shades!

Cold As Ice

Cold As Ice

Cold As Ice is a pastel powder blue creme.  I used 3 thin coats for these photos.  Formula was perfect.

Put A Ring On It

Put A Ring On It is a pastel pink creme. The formula on Put A Ring On It was thinner than others in the collection, but built up nicely. This is 3 thin coats.

Lilacking Control is a gorgeous lilac creme.  I used 3 thin coats for these photos and application was smooth.

Georgia Peach

Georgia Peach

Georgia Peach is a pastel peach creme.  Georgia Peach has a fairly typical pastel application and applied streaky on the first 2 coats and had some minor self leveling issues.  Shown is 3 thin coats.

Mint Julep

Mint Julep

Mellow Yellow

Mellow Yellow

Mellow Yellow is a sunny pastel yellow creme.  My bottle was a little on the thick side and the first 2 coats applied with a chalky look.  The third coat evened everything out, but there were some minor self leveling issues.

Overview

Overall this is a nice set.  It has pretty pastel shades that aren’t too washed out.  Half of the collection had flawless application for me, but the other half didn’t want to level out all the way.  Not a deal breaker for me, but I know for some it can be.  The colors were more on the vibrant side for pastels, which I liked.

Price: $3.98 Each

These are very traditional shades for spring but I love them, even the buttery yellow, and I usually hate yellow. So glad these are at Walmart. I need a treat!

Every year, I think I’m not going to get excited about pastels, and then, every year, I do. These are gorgeous, and even the ones with tricky formulas you make look good. The blue and lilac are calling to me…
