Yesterday I walked into Walgreens for face powder and walked out with the ORLY Color Blast Elsa Collection (don’t worry… I remembered the face powder too!) but this is pretty much why I can’t walk into a drugstore period.
The ORLY Color Blast Elsa Collection consists of 12 polishes and it is a limited edition collection. The ORLY Color Blast bottles are smaller than normal sized ORLY shades. You get .37 fl oz (11ml) instead of the normal .6 fl oz (18ml).
Let’s take a look at the shades
Ice-solated is a vibrant sky blue base with turquoise shimmer. I used 3 thin coats for these photos. The first 2 coats were slightly patchy, so it required 3 to even out.
Coronation Ball is a lavender and purple micro glitter polish that provides full coverage, but can also be put over another color. I used 2 coats for these photos.
This is similar to ORLY Pixie Powder, just a smidge darker.
Frozen is a metallicy icy blue with flashes of violet. I used 4 thin coats for these photos. Frozen is a little on the sheer side and brush strokes are visible.
This is a slightly darker version of ORLY Angel Rain.
Watch Out, Or Elsa!
Watch Out, Or Elsa! is a neon berry shade full of pale gold micro flakes. The flakes in this shade looked like they had completely sunk to the bottom, but I was pleasantly surprised to see there was still plenty mixed into the polish itself.
I used 2 coats for these photos.
Winter Blush is a neon pale pink with a violet flash. The first 2 coats came out patchy, so I used 3 coats for these photos.
Snow Queen is a white creme with a hint of blue flash. The “hint” of blue flash was so subtle that I couldn’t capture it. It was slightly more visible in the bottle than it is on the nail.
I used 3 thin coats for these photos.
In Summer is a vibrant yellow crelly with copper shimmer. I used 3 coats for these photos.
Olaf You A Lot
Olaf You A Lot is a vibrant bubblegum pink creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Warm Hugs is one of my favorites from this collection. Warm Hugs is a bright coral red creme. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Free Spirit is a bright berry creme. I used 3 thin coats for these photos, but 2 normal coats would work just fine as well.
Kristoff He Goes
Kristoff He Goes is a blue leaning teal. This dries to a matte finish, but I added top coat. I used 2 coats for these photos.
I used a coat of base coat and still experienced some minor staining. Nothing horrible, but it was still there.
A Happy… Puddle
A Happy… Puddle is a vibrant royal blue creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Overall this is a nice collection. A few shades had minor application issues, but the outcome still looked nice. At first I had buyers remorse on the collection but once I started putting them on, that vanished fairly quickly. My top picks are Warm Hugs, Free Spirit, Winter Blush and Ice-solated.
Price: $6.99 Each or you can purchase the duo packs for $10.99
Where To Buy: Walgreens
These are better to purchase in the duo packs, and I bought 4 duo sets and then 4 shades individually. So if you plan on buying the full collection that is the best way to go.
What did you think of these ORLY Color Blast Elsa shades? Will you be snagging any?
