Breast Cancer Awareness Hope Box 2018

Press Samples of the Breast Cancer Awareness
Hope Box 2018

Happy Wednesday everyone! I have a very special box to share with you tonight. This is something that is close to me, so I was very humbled when Chrissy of Turtle Tootsie asked me to review the Breast Cancer Awareness Hope Box 2018.

Chrissy of Turtle Tootsie Polishes is a breast cancer survivor, so she wanted to create a box that would help “give back” to the cause that helped her. This will be an annual box that has 19 items total. 15 are polishes and 4 are items to snag as well. You can buy the full 19 piece box, or pick and choose individual items within the box. That way if you aren’t able to buy the box, you can still grab items you love and it helps be able to donate more. This is also a rather large box, so the group understands that not everyone can grab the full shebang.

There will be a $1 donation for each bottle sold. For each full box sold, there will be a $20 donation. All donations go to BCRF.org. As usual with charity items I receive, I will be doing a private donation to BCRF. It’s not something I was asked to do, but I like to give back, especially when I know that they could have chosen to sell these items rather than send to me.

There will also be bracelets available, and a portion of proceeds from the bracelet will be donated to an indie brand owner that I am quite close with who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I am not stating the brand’s name because it’s honestly not my place to say since I don’t think she made the info too public yet. I’m not sure if the listing will mention her name, but if it does, I will edit this post to say it.

Every item within the box has an element of pink in it. They may not be full on pink, but some elements will have the pink factor. There are no limits on these polishes, so if you want 20 bottles of the same color – go for it.

Let’s jump on in. All info for sales will be at the bottom of the post as usual.

77 Nail Lacquer | F*ck Cancer

F*ck Cancer is a bright, warm rosy pink scattered holographic with coppery shimmer, and copper micro shards. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Anchor & Heart | You Are Not Alone

You Are Not Alone is a dusty pink jully base with rose gold metallic flakes, micro holo flakes, as well as orange to copper to plum shifting ultrachrome chameleon flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Save Them All

Save Them All is an ultra linear holographic base with a pink to gold to green magnetic effect, as well as red to pink iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. I used a standard bar magnet effect for this since it showed the magnetic effect best for me considering the insane holographic effect.

BLUSH Lacquers | Unconditional

Unconditional is a soft neutral crelly base with strong pink to peach microflake shimmer, and a subtle scattered holographic effect. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Colores de Carol | Unbroken

Unbroken is a pale, cool pink crelly base with lavender shimmer, hot pink, pink, fuchsia and white glitters, as well as holographic micro flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ever After Polish | Overcome Through Courage & Faith

Overcome Through Courage & Faith is a deep grey creme base with strong pinkish violet shimmer, violet and red holographic microglitter and rose gold microflakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Fair Maiden Polish | Check Yourself

Check Yourself is a warm coppery reddish pink jelly base with holographic microglitters, as well as a violet to gold shift. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Leesha’s Lacquer | Fuerte

Fuerte is apparently a thermal and I missed that until I was reading the descriptions. I’ll try to update with a shift showing this weekend.

Fuerte is a light pink to bright pink thermal with rose gold flecks mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Parrot Polish | OMGMETATAS

OMGMETATAS is a vibrant pink base with aqua blue shimmer laced throughout. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. Minor brushstrokes are visible with this shade, but nothing too bad.

This will also come with a mini heart shaped soap (shown below)

Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish | Thanks For The Mammaries

Thanks For The Mammaries is a neon pink crelly base with green to gold aurora shimmer mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This is pinker in person. Neons hate me so it looks more coralish in the photos.

Polish ‘M | Fierce Mind, Brave Spirit

Fierce Mind, Brave Spirit is a magenta jelly base loaded with pink micro flakes, purple iridescent micro flakes, blue to purple shifting micro glitter and scattered silver galaxy holographic glitter. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Quixotic Polish | Together We Can Beat This

Together We Can Beat This is a multichrome that shifts from magenta to orange to gold to green with a scattered holographic effect. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Rogue Lacquer | Strong and Beautiful

Strong and Beautiful is an orchid pink crelly base with a subtle scattered holographic effect, as well as pink to gold to green ultrachrome chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Sassy Pants Polish | Beautiful Warrior

Beautiful Warrior is a white crelly base with red and pink hex, square and micro glitters mixed in, as well as a subtle pink to gold shifting aurora shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes | Know Your Body

Know Your Body is a bright magenta pink jelly base loaded with pink shimmer, as well as holographic micro glitters and flakes. This is pinker in person, my camera pulled more red from it. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes | Strawberry Cheesecake Foaming Sugar Scrub

This smells delicious. It has a strong strawberry scent, but it also has hints of the cheesecake scent. But strawberry is the dominant scent. This works really well and the scent lingers for a bit after using.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes | Strawberry Cheesecake Lip Balm

My son is a lip balm fiend. He steals mine regularly and this was no exception. I bought him a little plastic box for his bedside table, and it’s full of lip balms, and this was added to his collection. It smells just like strawberry cheesecake – and I had to tell Jacob not to eat it.

Under A Hula Moon | I Hope You Dance

I Hope You Dance wax melt is a para soy wax blend and it has a peaches and buttercream scent. It’s on the lighter side but has a really nice throw. It’s relaxing and pretty much good to melt if it’s just you or if you have company around. The peach scent isn’t cloying or nauseating. It’s really well done.

Breast Cancer Awareness Hope Box 2018

Breast Cancer is really common within my family. Almost every female aside from me has had it at this point, including my mom who’s had it twice. Luckily it was always caught early. Since we know it’s VERY common in our family, we all get checked quite often. I started getting checked about 16 years ago and I go in yearly for it. So far, I haven’t had it. This is why it meant a lot to me to be asked to review this. It’s something I’m familiar with and that does hit close to home for me.

I had no issues with any of the polishes within the box, and as I mentioned – you can buy 1 polish/item or buy them all. It’s referred to as a box, but each item is available individual.

Price: $160.00 Full Box | $12.00 Individual Polishes | $4.50 Wax Melt | $6.00 Foaming Sugar Scrub | $3.00 Lip Balm

Other assorted items will be available as well
