Blush Lacquer Midnight Masquerade Collection

I recently had the pleasure of reviewing Blush Lacquers and I’m simply blown away. Today I have the Blush Lacquers Midnight Masquerade Collection to share!

This is a 6 piece collection full of shifty shades in bold colors. If you purchase the full 6 piece collection, you will receive a 7th polish (Lady Of The Mask) free.

A few of these shades caught me by surprise. They almost looked like sleeper shades in the bottle, but on the nail with the slightest tilt they really came to life. The shifts, the shimmer and the tiny bit of sparkle from the microglitters really came together with all 7 of these shades.

Let’s go over each one. Just to cover my bases, all 7 were applied on their own, no base color was used to elevate the color or shift. These were all done with my normal lighting setup (2 ottlites) and no fancy stuff other than tilting my hand. In person they actually shift a bit more.

Let’s jump right in.

Twilight Maiden

Twilight Maiden is a dark blurple base with strong magenta and purple shimmer, as well as blue to teal shifting iridescent microglitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The Secret Door

The Secret Door is much shiftier than my photos show. I actually got a little frustrated because I could SEE the shift, but my camera said “NOPE” when trying to photograph it better!

The Secret Door is a rich garnet red base with bronze to copper shifting shimmer and red to gold shifting iridescent microglitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The Golden Hour

The Golden Hour took me by surprise a bit.  The red shift is a little more toned down in person though, it really came out to play under my lighting.

The Golden Hour is an interesting olive greenish mustard yellow jelly base. If you mixed olive green and mustard yellow – this base is the product of that marriage. Within the interesting jelly base is fiery copper red to orange to golden yellow to olive green shimmer, as well as green to teal iridescent microglitters.  I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I also apparently forgot to take a macro. Sorry.

Kiss The Frog

Kiss The Frog is a deep blue jelly base with intense green shimmer, as well as blue to purple shifting iridescent microglitters. i used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Candelabra-cadabra

Candelabra-cadabra is a bright green jelly base with strong bronze shimmer and green to teal shifting iridescent microglitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This one is a real stunner on and a top pick for me!

Amethyst Amulet

Amethyst Amulet is my absolute favorite from this collection. In the bottle it was “oh thats a nice one” but as soon as I wiggled my fingers a little, I saw all the colors hiding in it.

Amethyst Amulet is a deep, dusty grape jelly base with silvery shimmer,  and blue to teal shifting iridescent microglitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Lady Of The Mask

Lady Of The Mask is the free polish you’ll receive if you purchase the full 6 piece Midnight Masquerade collection. It is not available by itself.

Lady Of The Mask has a raspberry red base with a grape purple shift, teal shimmer and blue to purple shifting iridescent microglitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Blush Lacquer Midnight Masquerade Collection Overview

Application wise, almost all of them required 3 thin coats for full opacity. I do apply coats on the thinner side and had no issue with it, so I’d be willing to bet 2 normal to thick coats would work just fine. While there are microglitters sprinkled within these shades, they honestly aren’t large enough to really feel them, so it doesn’t add any texture to the polish and blends in nicely. You can see them twinkling, but they are incredibly fine. I almost have trouble calling them microglitters, but they are larger than the shimmer particles.

Some of these shades are incredibly unique to my collection, and those are actually the ones I selected as my top picks!

My Top Picks: Amethyst Amulet, Candalabra-cadabra and The Golden Hour

Price: $10.75 Each | $64.50 Full Collection (Plus you’ll receive Lady Of The Mask)

[…] According to BLUSH Lacquers – this is a kind of mix between The Secret Door and Amethyst Amulet. […]
