Heather’s Hues Charity Duo

Press Samples of the Heather’s Hues
Charity Duo

I have another special post tonight. This makes 2 in a row for me (many are special, but these 2 in particular have more of an effect on me)

Heather’s Hues has a charity duo releasing on September 8th and it’s close to me because my sister helped collab on it. Really, my step sister, but my mom started dating her dad before I was in Kindergarten. I’m 36 now (and they married when I was around 9 I think) so we grew up together.

A bit of background on this duo. My sister (Katie) helped collab on this duo after her mom was diagnosed with uterine cancer. Obviously this is going to mean something to me since I’ve known Katie and her Mama Gayle for at least 31 years.

Side note: for those who were trying to help think of a neon aqua creme polish, Katie was at fault for all of us racking our brains. Now you know who to thank. And yes, we are still looking.

While her mom was going through treatment, Katie reached out to Heather to make a custom polish to lift her mom’s spirits, as well as share the polish with their team of friends and family supporting her along the way.

Katie was in the hospital herself when she found out her mom had a rare form of uterine cancer. She was stuck over 400 miles away. Since Katie and her mom usually get pedicures while they are together, creating a custom polish seemed appropriate to make her mama smile. Katie sent Heather a photo of one of her irises to match, and added some sparkle to match her mama’s personality. A second shade was then created to represent the uterine cancer awareness ribbon.

Mama Gayle is currently cancer free, but she still needs chemo treatments and radiation therapy to prevent the cancer from returning.

Let’s take a look at both polishes, and the rest of the details will be down below. As usual, I will be adding a private donation to the charity Heather decided on, which is the Cancer Research Institute (Heather chose this charity because it has stellar ratings from all of the charity watchdogs. Sadly, there aren’t many charities specifically for uterine cancer or gynecological cancer and the ones that do exist are either too small or new to be rated)

Heather’s Hues | Sparkly Unicorn Poop

Sparkly Unicorn Poop was the original shade created to match the photo of irises. This is a medium, cool toned purple creme with purple and blue shimmer flecks mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Heather’s Hues | Peach Believe In Me

Peach Believe In Me is a medium pastel peach creme with pink to gold shimmer flecks mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Peach is a hard color for me and my skintone, this is a bit lighter in person.

Heather’s Hues Charity Duo

Both polishes applied like butter. They were super smooth and perfect application. If you use normal coats, 2 would work fine – but I always use really thin coats, so I used 3.

$2.00 from each bottle sold will be donated to the Cancer Research Institute. As I mentioned earlier, I will be making a private donation like I do with all my charity samples, but also because this is my sister’s mom.

Price: $12.00 Each

Thank you for making this so personal. It means more to me than you know. This has been a rough summer, but I think we’re coming out the other side. You’ve been a big help with that, and if you didn’t already have a bottle of Sparkly Unicorn Poop, I’d send you one to thank you for being part of my team and helping to keep me sane during some really tough moments.
