This review is a little behind! I had the opportunity to try out some products from White Sands a few months ago and I used them all for 30 days straight. Generally with hair care I try to exclusively use the products sent so that I get a good idea of how my hair reacted to the products without any other outside sources skewing those results.

For this review I received White Sands Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner plus The Cure 24/7 Serum.

This was pretty much the perfect set up for me. I am a minimalist when it comes to my hair. I like to keep it simple – wash, air dry and go. I rarely use a flat iron, curling iron, blow dryer or even hair spray.  The only thing I usually do aside from washing and air drying is to add an oil or serum to my hair after I towel dry my hair a little. I have a lot of hair, so avoiding static in my hair and smoothing it a bit is always helpful.

Before we take a look at each item, let’s talk about my hair type. I have fine hair, but a lot of it. It’s wavy in the back but stick straight in the front and barely holds a curl (which is why I gave up on curling irons a long time ago). My hair is on the drier side and I get static cling like crazy. My scalp is also incredibly oily.  I haven’t colored my hair in about 2 years and I rarely use any gels, mousses, or sprays. So overall my hair is actually pretty healthy.

My main hair goal: To be able to run my hands through my hair without my hand getting tangled. My hair is currently an inch below my shoulders and I can still get my hand caught and tangled.

Let’s take a look at each item I received.

White Sands Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner

One of my main hair issues is the dryness and static frizz. My hair is oily at the scalp, but dry and brittle towards the ends. When I try to work on one problem, it seems to make the other worse – like with skin care.

My hair took really well to White Sands Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner though. With some moisture shampoos and conditioners, I feel like it weighs my hair down too much, but I actually still got the silky bounce I love without needing anything additional to give my hair some volume.

After using the moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, my hair didn’t feel stripped but it also didn’t feel like it had a crazy amount of ‘slip’ either. It just felt… healthy. Normal. The shampoo had really good lather to it and rinsed out clean and easy. The conditioner didn’t leave behind a residue either.

While I don’t currently have color treated hair – the White Sands moisturizing line is safe for it.

White Sands The Cure 24/7 Serum

The product I tried to kind of complement the wash n go lifestyle I lead was The Cure 24/7 Serum. This is a light serum that strengthens hair and helps to mend split ends. After I wash my hair, I towel dry it so it’s not dripping all over the place, squeeze 2-3 pumps of serum and run my hands together, then flip my hair upside down (I know you all know this maneuver) and comb my fingers through my hair. After that I just let it air dry.

My hair looked and felt fabulous. I actually bought another bottle when my first bottle was gone. That’s how good it was.

It says you can use this on wet or dry hair, day or night. I personally only used it on damp hair in the morning.

White Sands Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner Overview

Overall, an incredibly positive experience with White Sands. I have since purchased more The Cure 24/7 Serum, and I am planning on repurchasing the Shampoo and Conditioner, but I recently received a few different sets of shampoos and conditioners to test, so I haven’t just yet. I was planning on actually picking up the Orchid Bliss set to try out once I’ve cleared my hair care commitments.

If you are looking for a lightweight, moisturizing set of hair care for color treated or just drier hair – then I would recommend this set. The Cure 24/7 Serum is honestly the stand out item for me, so without a doubt – try that out!
