TheBalm Stainiac Prom Queen Lip Stain Swatches and Review

Stainiac – The hint of tint that lights up the whole world! (For Lips and Cheeks too!)

This is an incredibly long over-due blog post.  I received a wonderful package from TheBalm a few weeks back, and I already reviewed their Hot Ticket Nail Lacquers (which were amazing!  Revisit the post here) but when I got around to taking pictures of Stainiac Lip Stain, I came down with a cold and my lips looked so horrible, I just couldn’t post them :(

I have never been happy with Lip Stains that I have used in the past.  I’ve tried several brands, from drugstore to high end, and they never lived up to their promise.  One of them I even threw out after 1 test.  Usually they do not last as long as they should or they look spotty on my lips!  Ick!  I wanted a lip stain I could put on in the morning and head out to work without worrying about coming home with spots or JUST the outline along my lips where everything else wore off.

Stainiac has changed my mind on lip stains!  It has a sponge tipped applicator and comes in a easy to handle aluminum like tube.  A decent amount of product came out with each dip and it wasn’t difficult to apply at all.

I wore Stainiac Lip Stain in Prom Queen, which is a gorgeous sheer rosy pink tint,  to work for a  week straight to test out its staying power.  This is a true “stain.”  The first day that I wore it, Stainiac seemed to wear off within 4 hours, which disappointed me.  On the second day I put it on my lips, let it dry completely (about a minute or two) and then added a second layer… SUCCESS!  I went to work –  ate breakfast, lunch, drank 2 cups of coffee and about 3 sodas – went home at the end of the day and the color still clung to my lips.  Exactly what I had hoped every other stain could be!  Not only did it stay on, but it applied evenly and smoothly each time.

On my lips!  Look at that rosy hue!!

On my skin:

Best thing about Stainiac?  It was NOT drying at all!  Other stains I have used have been drying and leave my lips peeling.

TheBalm Stainiac Lip & Cheek Stain comes in 3 gorgeous colors – Beauty Queen (Sheer Berry Pink), Prom Queen (Sheer Rosy Pink), and Homecoming Queen (Sheer Soft Peach).  Stainiac retails for $17.00 and is .03 fl oz.

You can purchase TheBalm Stainiac at Sephora and TheBalm.com

I just started using a stain on my lips but I apply a lip stick ove the top and it really lasts a long time, when the lipstick starts to go the stain peeks through!
