I have a few posts to do today! This week is a busy launch week for a lot of shops and I didn’t realize how many landed on the same day, plus some came in just a few days ago – so I spent a large chunk of yesterday getting them all photographed. First up today we have the March 2016 Magic 8 Box which has an 80’s Love Songs theme.
Here’s the breakdown for the Magic 8 Box (if you are new to it): it will contain products from 8 brands. 4 will be permanent brands (Philly Loves Lacquer, Smokey Mountain Lacquers, Rica and My Indie Polish) as well as 4 guest makers. For March the guest brands are Delush Polish, Aliquid Lacquer, Pipe Dream Polish and Native War Paints.
The March 2016 theme is 80’s Love Songs (YES!!) and after seeing some of the names, I had to pull up some songs to listen to while swatching.
Let’s jump in, and all purchasing info will be located at the bottom of the post.
Philly Loves Lacquer – This Much Is True-oo
Philly Loves Lacquer drew inspiration from the song True by Spandau Ballet. This Much Is True-oo is a deep grey crelly base with ultra chrome flakes and gold flakes mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Smokey Mountain Lacquers – Faithfully
Smokey Mountain Lacquers drew inspiration from Faithfully by Journey! Faithfully is a pale dusty light blue holographic. So soft and delicate! It’s a beautiful Winter to Spring transitional color. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
My Indie Polish – Purple Rain
My Indie Polish used Purple Rain by Prince as her inspiration! Purple Rain is a grape crelly base with silver holo shimmer and holo glitter in silver, blue, teal, and purple, and flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Rica – Time After Time
Rica used Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time to draw inspiration from for this beauty! Time After Time is a rosey crelly base packed with pink, rose and gold microglitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Delush Polish – Never Gonna Give You Up
You all knew someone had to cover this song! Delush Polish‘s inspiration for her creation is Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley! Never Gonna Give You Up is a sky blue crelly base with a matte blue microglitter laced through and lime green, hot pink and electric blue glitters scattered throughout in various shapes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Pipe Dream Polish – Cherish
Pipe Dream Polish drew inspiration from the song Cherish by Madonna. This is a medium cornflower blue crelly base with gold flakes, iridescent multicolored flakes and holographic shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Native War Paints – Never Tear Us Apart
Native War Paints used Never Tear Us Apart by INXS as inpsiration for this lovely number. Never Tear Us Apart is a pink leaning purple crelly with blue shimmer. This color just GLOWS on your nails! I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
ALIQUID Lacquer – Can’t Fight This Feeling
Last up we have ALIQUID Lacquer and their inspiration was Can’t Fight This Feeling by REO Speedwagon! Can’t Fight This Feeling is a deep blue jelly with ultra chrome flakes, purple shimmer and holographic flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
