On April 29th Glam Polish will be releasing an Elvis Presley tribute collection, and today I have a partial review of the Glam Polish The King Collection to show you!
Of course, I have to give a little story. When I was younger, I didn’t like Elvis being mentioned much. My name is Lisa Marie – so in school, on the first day, and basically anytime there was a substitute, when they went over the roster and got to my name, they always asked the same question…
“Was your mom an Elvis fan?!” and some would even try to make Elvis references to me. My mom even apologized to me at one point because she didn’t intentionally do that to me. I was named after my aunt Lisa and my middle name was the second half of my grandmother’s name (Rose Marie, my sister got Rose as a middle name) but it is what it is.
Now that I am a little older and out of school, I don’t hear the question as much. I do love Elvis, but back then I would clench my jaw knowing the question was coming.
Ok enough rambling once again, let’s get to what you really came here for.
All Shook Up
All Shook Up is a silver holographic base with a mix of red, white and blue microglitter and silver ultra holo glitter. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Viva Las Vegas
Viva Las Vegas is my favorite of the group. Viva Las Vegas is a pale gold/champagne holographic base packed with a rainbow assortment of hex glitters and microglitter. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat.
Suspicious Minds is a vampy plum scattered holographic with holographic micro flakes and crimson shimmer mixed in. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I noticed I had some bumps using this polish and contacted Glam Polish about it, she said it was the irregular cut glitters in the polish and that if you use a toothpick or dotting tool to push them down a bit, it would be fine. They’ve also gone through the process of using a strainer to get larger pieces out to hopefully prevent it in the future.
A Little Less Conversation
A Little Less Conversation is a turquoise scattered holo with holographic microflakies and shimmering glass flecks. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
I noticed some VERY minor bumps with this shade as well, so like Suspicious Minds – Glam Polish said to use a toothpick or dotting tool to push them down a bit, it would be fine.
Always On My Mind
Always On My Mind is a light pink crelly holographic with ultra holo glitter. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
It’s Now Or Never
I saved my absolute favorite for last! It’s Now Or Never is a baby blue crelly holographic with ultra holo glitter. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Glam Polish The King Collection Overview
I plan on picking up the remaining 3 shades in the collection (in total it’s a 9 piece collection) and overall I like the 6 I received. Aside from Suspicious Minds and A Little Less Conversation having “bumps” in the polish – which Glam Polish said are due to irregular cut glitters that are poking up. Aside from those, the polishes were nice, and I loved the color selection I received. My favorites are Viva Las Vegas, All Shook Up and It’s Now Or Never.
The 3 shades I don’t currently have that complete the collection are:
Can’t Help Falling In Love – Royal Blue scattered holo with holographic microfalkies and shimmering glass flecks.
Burning Love – Vampy Red Scattered Holo with holographic microflakies and gold shimmer.
If I Can Dream – Off White Crelly Holographic with ultra holo glitter.
