Fortune Cookie Soap Aquaholic Shampoo and Conditioner Review

by Lisa Heath

Every so often I make time to review items I purchase that I find outstanding.  This is one of those posts!

Doria from BeautyPopStop is probably my biggest enabler.  From skin care to cosmetics, I trust her judgement and we’re a lot alike in our likes and dislikes, and so far she has NEVER steered me wrong!

About a month ago, she told me about the Fortune Cookie Soap website and she was RAVING about them, so of course, I had to try some!  I started with a small purchase of a shampoo bar and a conditioner bar.  I usually buy my bars from Lush, but I can only use a few (most that I like have sea salt or citrus of some sort so you can’t use on color treated hair).  I decided on the scent Aquaholic (tropical pina colada!) and I love the scent!

Ok onto the review.  I was so excited to use these that I forgot to photograph them beforehand, and I’m sure you don’t want to see half used shower product, so this is one of the rare times I will use stock photos for the post!

Aquaholic Shampoo Bar

For those that have never used a Shampoo Bar, basically it’s shampoo that looks like soap.  Instead of a bottle, you take the bar and rub it all over your hair.  With most bars, they will not lather as much as bottled shampoo, but they still work just as good if not better than bottled shampoo.   The Fortune Cookie Soap bar is SLS Free and Paraben Free, which is much better for my hair.  For those not use to it, your hair might have a small adjustment period.  I prefer bars because I get less frizzies and flyaways when I use them.  My hair took to Fortune Cookie Soap Shampoo Bar immediately!  I got a decent lather and the scent was divine!  It leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean!

Aquaholic Conditioner Bar

The Conditioner Bar throws people off a lot more than the Shampoo Bar!  Mainly because it doesn’t make your hair feel as “slick” as bottled conditioner, so it’s hard to tell if it’s in your hair, but trust me – it is!  What I also love about these bars is that they can also be used as a leave in conditioner.  I sometimes use this on the ends of my hair to tame it a bit more or on my bangs to smooth them a bit.  I always pick complimenting scents, so I got this in Aquaholic as well.  The scent isn’t overpowering and it lingers for a bit after you wash it out.  I will definitely rebuy this scent, but I also have my eye on a couple more scents to try out!  Doria recommended In The Loop (smells like Fruit Loops!) so I will be trying that one soon!

My hair took to both of these products really well, but I’ve also been using shampoo & conditioner bars now for about 4 years.  If you like LUSH Shampoo Bars and Conditioner Bars, you may want to check these out as well.  While I still like my LUSH, I’ve always disliked the fact that their Conditioner Bar selection is incredibly limited.  I also love fru fru scents, and Fortune Cookie Company definitely has that covered for me!

My hair type:  You may not find this important, but it actually is.  If your hair type is majorly different from mine, the products may not work as well (or they may work even better!).  I have long hair that has a slight wave to it.  My hair is thick, but fine.

Prices:

Shampoo Bar – $8.99 for 3 oz (or $12.75 with a reusable tin to store it in)

Conditioner Bar – $8.49 for 2 oz (or $12.28 with a reusable tin to store it in)

If you choose not to get the tin, it will arrive in a paper type bag with a wax like feel to it.  I have several holders for these types of products, so I didn’t get a tin, but I would recommend it for on the go uses!

Where to Buy: Fortune Cookie Soap Website

Each product on the website gives a list of ingredients for each product in case you wanted to check those out.  I’m mildly allergic to certain oils, so I have to be careful of that – so I appreciate their ingredients being easy to find for each individual product.

Hope you enjoyed the review, and I will definitely be purchasing from them again SOON!

hcg weight loss oral drops June 30, 2014 - 3:41 pm

One of the main reasons that have led to the failure of other diet
plans when compared to HCG weight loss drops
is that in HCG diet plan, there is no chance that a patient will feel hungry because along with
500 calories a day, the patient is only allowed
to have high protein meals with rich fiber food which is why
the patient won’t feel hungry and in fact they feel contented all day.

It is also known as human chorionic gonadotropin which is for regulating the development of the embryo.
People on HCG eating plans notice outcome quickly, also within times of starting the program.
