China Glaze Capitol Colours Collection – Riveting and Harvest Moon – Review and Swatches

In keeping with the powerful themes and messages of the story, the collection of nail polish will be inspired exclusively by one of the book’s distinct settings – the Capitol of the nation of Panem. Awash in lavish fashion, food, and entertainment, Capitol citizens enjoy extreme cosmetics and body modifications, bold wigs, and outlandish costumes.

After a long day at work I came home to a wonderful package sitting on my porch!  China Glaze sent me Riveting and Harvest Moon Nail Lacquers to review from their Capital Colours line that is set to release on March 1st.  China Glaze, a division of American International Industries announced that they had partnered with studio powerhouse Lionsgate on a collection of nail polish to debut in conjunction with the March 23, 2012 release of THE HUNGER GAMES.

Riveting is a gorgeous fiery orange with gold shimmer.  A really stunning color, and I’m not even a huge fan of orange.  I used 2 coats of Riveting with no issues at all!  Loved this color!!

Harvest Moon is an amazing copper metallic.  I really didn’t think that the color in the bottle would translate perfectly to my nails, but it did – and I was absolutely shocked!   I used 2 coats of Harvest Moon and for the most part it was good, but I had issues with it getting to the edge on my nail (on the sides) like it just didn’t want to.  If I happened to cover the sides of my nails, it’s because I got it on my skin and had no choice.  Riveting definitely applied better, but this is such a pretty color I think I’ll let the application issue I had slide.

I am looking forward to receiving the full collection late next week (I preordered the entire thing) and getting these two colors really got me even more excited about it!

China Glaze Nail Lacquers can be found in most major Beauty Supply stores and generally retails for $5.99 – $7.00
