Happy Friday and Happy New Years Eve! Today is my official 10 Year Blogaversary, and we’re kicking the giveaway off with the Bee’s Knees Lacquer donation!
10 years ago I sat down and made my first blog post. In 10 years I have typed up 3,680 blog posts. I have uploaded 96,833 photos. I have watched indie brands come and go and there’s been a lot of good times and bad.
I have had a lot of opportunities, both with indies and sponsored content. In 10 years I have had partnerships with some incredible brands and makers, but I’ve also had some unfortunate dealings with makers (I will never forget the time a brand knew I was home with a 103 temp and demanded I go “fetch” her package at my work cause she needed photos NOW and confirmation showed it was just delivered.) But overall the good has outweighed the bad and I am forever thankful for the chances I have been given and the mistakes I have learned from.
My son was starting Kindergarten when this blog was made, he’s now a sophomore in high school. Where I was once balancing a full time job, raising an incredible little boy and blogging – I am now really just balancing a full time job and blogging because he’s almost 16 doesn’t need mom as much (but I still drop everything when he wants to do something with this old lady) I was 29 when I made my first post and now I’m pushing 40 (in March!)
There were many times I considered throwing in the towel, but I still enjoy doing this too damn much.
So to celebrate my 10 years of constant posts – I have asked for maker volunteers to create a custom polish for a series of giveaways! Each maker donated at least 2 bottles of a custom – one for me to swatch and keep for the milestone and one to giveaway. If you are a maker and would like to participate and missed the original post – email me at [email protected]
While they made the custom for my blog – makers were given permission to release the custom at a later date. Not all will do this – some literally made it but didn’t save a recipe while others do intend to release it later. So I did make sure there was no exclusivity to the polish, and it’s up to the makers discretion.
Each maker had free rein to create what they wished to. I am a swatcher and not a maker for a reason and each individual maker has their own signature touch.
10 Year Blogaversary Giveaway | Bee’s Knees Lacquer
Sarah of Bee’s Knees Lacquer created a custom polish with a medium grey jelly base loaded with strong gold to pale copper to green shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
This one is unnamed, so I will probably name it and send it off – I just don’t know what to name it. Probably something like “10 Year Blog Anniversary” cause I’m creative like that.
The Rules for The Giveaway
I will have a new giveaway up each day. Because of my schedule – I will draw winners for all giveaways ending that previous week on Sunday nights. I have each item in my possession so I will contact each winner for shipping information and then ship within 5 business days of receiving the shipping information.
I will only display the winners name on the widget AFTER the winner has responded to my email notifying they have won. I will be emailing from [email protected] – so please make sure the email is not in spam. If I have not received a response in 10 business days, I will draw a new winner and previous winner will forfeit their prize.
I display the names after because I have had people try to create emails and claim to be the winner before.
I will provide tracking for each winner. I am not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Once I ship, it’s out of my hands and I do not have replacement bottles.
Giveaway is open to EVERYONE. I will ship internationally for this because I want everyone who has followed along with me over the last 10 years to have a chance. Again though, if the package is missing, lost, stolen or confiscated on the way – I am not responsible for it and I will not be replacing.
I have made entering requirements easy. There are mandatory entries and one optional. The optional is only if you want an additional entry. The mandatory one you can come back daily to do as well if you wish to for more entries.
If you have additional questions, please email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to answer.
Thank you to Sarah of Bee’s Knees Lacquer for your donation and for working with me for the past few years. Thank you to all the readers, or the people who randomly pop in, for stopping by.
