July 2019 | Festival Fun

Time is just flying by! It’s time to take a look at The Holo Hookup July 2019 Festival Fun Box!

As always, I’ll do a quick rundown for those new to The Holo Hookup!

This is an all holographic box and each month it will have 3 constant indie makers in it – Glisten & GlowDIFFERENT dimension and Cupcake Polish.  The guest maker this month is Great Lakes Lacquer!

Each shade in the box has holographic elements of some sort in it. It may be scattered, linear, subtle or in your face, but an element of it is there. Some makers may incorporate other elements such as shimmer, glitter or flakes – but it will be in conjunction with holo.

Let’s get this started!

Cupcake Polish | Wildflower Child

Wildflower Child is a bright fuchsia purple holographic with blue iridescent flakes. fine blue microglitter, gold flakes and pink to gold to orange iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade has high flakey content, so I do recommend thin coats to avoid a flake pileup.

Inspired by the Wildflower Festival in Richardson, TX where Cupcake Polish is created. The Wildflower Festival promotes the cultivation of regional wildflower, musicians and local artists, as well as bringing in nationally popular acts to headline the music festival.

I used What’s Up Nails plate B018 for stamping.

Different Dimension | 500 Festival

500 Festival is a highlighter yellowish chartreuse neon jelly base with blue to green to gold iridescent color shifting flakies iridescent color shifting glitters and holographic microflakes, and it has a subtle scattered holographic effect. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspired by the 500 Festival which is a month-long festival in Indianapolish, IN which is where Different Dimension is headquartered. 500 Festival spans the entire month of May and includes sporting events, parades, musical performances and community events to celebrate the Indianapolis 500 race.

I used the What’s Up Nails B032 Stamping Plate for this look.

Glisten & Glow | Peace, Love & Music

Peace, Love & Music is a neon red leaning orange crelly holographic with color shifting iridescent micro flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This leans a touch more orange in person.

Inspired by the iconic Woodstock Festival which is set to celebrate it’s 50th anniversary with another legendary festival in August 2019. Woodstock just may be the greatest concert EVER!

I used the What’s Up Nails B032 plate for this nail stamping!

Great Lakes Lacquer | BYOS (Bring Your Own Shanty)

BYOS (Bring Your Own Shanty) is a vivid, frozen lake blue linear holographic with green shifting shimmer and shards of green to blue to purple iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspired by Houghton Lakes annual Tip Up Town, Michigan’s premier ice fishing festival. There are many activities besides ice fishing contests to indulge in, like the turkey bowling contest and the polar bear dip. Winter is never boring at Houghton Lake’s Tip Up Town. Just make sure to BYOS!

I used What’s Up Nails plate B018 for this stamping.

The Holo Hookup July 2019 | Festival Fun

Another incredible box with a fun theme! I actually only knew about Woodstock going into this, but I love that they included descriptions of each festival that inspired the polishes.

While I love all 4 shades, the Different Dimension one stole my heart.
