Square Hue July 2014 Nail Polish Subscription Box Review

I recently received 2 Square Hue subscription boxes to review, both July 2014 and August 2014 (the August box will be up later this weekend!) and this is my first experience with Square Hue.

Previously I have subscribed to other nail polish sub boxes.  I was actually with one for almost 2 years before I finally cancelled because I wasn’t thrilled with them or their customer service.  For the price, I didn’t feel I was getting the quality I would have liked.  So if you were in the same boat as me for that brand (I won’t name the brand, but I’m sure several of you know which I am speaking of) then Square Hue is a big step up in terms of quality, size and customer service.

Right now we will look at the July 2014 box.  Each Square Hue box has a theme (July is Barcelona) and Square Hue creates the 3 shades included in each box in house, PLUS they donate a portion of their sales to a charity.  How can you not love that?

Let’s take a look at the shades included in the July 2014 Barcelona Box, and then we’ll go over pricing for this sub box.

Rambla de Raval

Rambla de Raval

Rambla de Raval is a bold and beautiful orange with strong gold microshimmer within it.  This has a slight metallic look to it.  Application was beautiful, but it did have minor brush strokes visible, which I find fairly common with metallic like shades.

I used 2 coats and a top coat for these photos.

Placa Catalunya

Placa Catalunya

Placa Catalunya is a gorgeous, bold magenta with microshimmer, which again gives it an almost metallic look.  Slight brush strokes are visible.

I used 2 coats and a top coat for these photos.

Passeig de Gracia

Passeig de gracia

We are moving into Fall and Passeig de Garcia was one of my favorites in the box and an amazing Fall shade.

Passeig de Gracia is a deep, vampy purple with a subtle shimmer.  I used 2 coats and a top coat for these photos.

Overview

This is my first experience with Square Hue and it’s a good one.  All 3 shades had great application and it was a nice variety to receive.  I like that the box had a theme (Barcelona) and that a portion of sales go to charity.

The August 2014 box will be up shortly… and Square Hue is taking us to Beverly Hills!

What did you think of the Barcelona Square Hue Box?  Is it a subscription you might be interested in?
