piCture pOlish 2012 Opulance Collection Review and Swatches

was created when two girls dreamed of a beautiful gift that would capture a special occasion.

What better way to relive a moment than with a personalised nail polish

That was quirky & vibrant that stands out from the rest!

has now grown to include our own brand.

With an extensive range of fashion forward colours you will find a shade for every occasion.

Every shade tells a different story inspired by you our wonderful customers!

piCture pOlish has a new collection releasing on April 9th, 2012 and gave me the opportunity to swatch and review the collection!  The Opulence Collection consists of 3 gorgeous nail polishes that look stunningly beautiful in the bottle.  I saw a couple pictures online and thought they looked amazing, but my jaw DROPPED when I was opening the package!  The 3 colors are Monroe, Peacock and Mask-a-rade.

Ready for some swatches?  I hope so!

First up is a classic HOLLYWOOD icon –  Monroe!  Monroe is a blood red jelly polish with holographic shimmer in it.  The shimmer is really fine and I am so glad they did it that way.  Monroe’s linear holographic shimmer is incredibly subtle and absolutely gorgeous.  This was definitely the smoothest of the 3 polishes to apply (mainly because the other 2 have glitter in them) .  I used 3 coats for this picture, I could have stopped at 2, but I got the true blood red effect with 3 coats.  (Click on the photo to really see the shimmer!)

Next, do you wanna see my Peacock? Peacock was probably my least favorite of the 3 polishes.  Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a bad polish, I just liked the other 2 a little better ;)  Peacock is a mixture of emerald glitter with blue particle that flashes purple and white in a purple jelly base that dries matte.  I used a purple cream polish as a base color for this polish.  It was a little on the thick side, but wasn’t horrendous to apply, the glitter wasn’t super chunky either, so once dry it didn’t feel like it would snag on everything.  I used a glossy top coat over Peacock to really make it shine!

Now, look beyond the sparkle! Mask-a-rade!  This was a gorgeous explosion of multicolor/multi chromatic particles in a clear base.  The sparkle is amazing but even better is when the color shifts in the glitter!  Ahhh!  I LOVE this!  I used Mask-a-rade over a black cream polish to really make it stand out!  Straight on I see purple, blue and green particles, but as I look from an angle I see copper, red and orange particles. Application was smooth with Mask-a-rade, the particles are small and feels fairly smooth on the nail.  With a top coat it complete smoothed out.

This is my first experience with piCture pOlish and I love trying out new brands to add to my ever growing collection, and I plan on adding more than just these 3 beauties!

OMG! MONROE! I’m dying. I seriously love all things Marilyn (even though she wasn’t the most stable woman). I absolutely LOVE that polish. I need it. Hee hee. Great swatches!
