Paula’s Choice Limited Edition Liquid Lipstick Collection Review

by Lisa Heath

Paula’s Choice has a Limited Edition set of 4 Liquid Lipsticks.  I had the opportunity to try out this set, and I’m pretty pleased with it!  This is a free gift with purchase item (if you spend $50 or more) on the Paula’s Choice website.

Paula's Choice 4

First off, if you pick up this Limited Edition Collection – it is a SHEER collection.  You won’t get the full on coverage of an opaque lipstick.  What I found was that it had the coverage and consistency of a lip gloss, but the lasting power of a lipstick.  I know some people would assume by the name it would be more opaque, but it is not.  If you are ok with that – this is a collection you should look into!

Paula's Choice box

The collection comes in a pretty standard black box and the Liquid Lipsticks are a really good size, they aren’t minis by any means.  Each tube is .24 fl oz (or 7 ml) and comes with a doe foot applicator.  Application was super smooth and easy.  They don’t have the sticky quality that a lot of lip glosses have, but more of a smooth and creamy (and moisturizing!) feel.

I’m not a huge “gloss” person because I can’t stand the sticky feel of gloss, but I can definitely deal with the feel of these liquid lipsticks.  Staying power was excellent, which I didn’t expect because of the gloss like appearance on.  I was able to go a full 4-5 hours with each shade before needing to reapply (and this included being able to eat and drink while they were on).

The Swatches

Paula's Choice swatch

Here are simple arm swatches of each shade.  From Left to Right here is a run down of the colors:

Vintage Pink: A soft, sheer and classic pink.

Cherry Red: A soft, sheer red with a hint of shimmer.

Watermelon Pink: A juicy, medium pink with a slight coral appearance

Festive Rose: A light pink rose

Because of the sheerness of the shades, they are wearable for many skin tones.  They can also be layered over other lipsticks to give them a juicy look if you want a little more oomph from these shades.  They can also help to “tone down” harsher colors you may have purchased and don’t wear due to them being a little “too much” on a daily basis.

And here are some lip swatches of each color on.

Overview

If you love the look of gloss but the staying power of a lipstick – these may be for you.  The colors are extremely sheer, which is nice for slightly more toned down looks.  Each shade gives your lips a hint of color and a little moisture.

They look amazing. I love that gloss look but it never stays. Sounds like liquid lipstick is the way to go.

careful if you have allergies i got a chemical burn from it. Very severe , to the point that i had to get a prescription drug to relieve the burn. Also few nights without sleep.

My power and my new-found self-esteem flushed into the pipe right along
