Mia Mariu Create Your Perfect Canvas Review & Giveaway

I’ve said this so many times on my blog, but I am NOT a morning person.  At all.  When I get ready for work, it’s a mad dash to get out the door.  One thing I won’t leave without is a little foundation, some concealer, a little blush and usually mascara.  If I don’t at least do that, I look tired and pretty much like I haven’t slept in days.

I was given the opportunity to try out Mia Mariu Perfecting Finish Mineral Line – I was more than happy to give it a try!  I’m not all that fond of liquid foundation, I can use it, but it’s not my favorite and Mia Mariu gives the option of powder or liquid foundation.

Here are the items I received.  Lets take a closer look at each one.

Perfecting Finish Mineral Foundation Primer

photo 2

Perfecting Finish Mineral Primer was designed to prepare the skin for an exceptionally smooth application for any of Mia’s fabulous foundation while extending the foundation’s wear for hours. Rich in antioxidants and botanicals, our Primer creates a smooth facial canvas allowing the foundation to glide on seamlessly, leaving a fresh natural look that lasts all day.

In the tube this is a milky white primer.  It goes on clear though and easily blends in and dries.  I liked the feel of it and my skin seems to accept it as I haven’t had any weird breakouts.

Mineral Concealer in Vainilla

photo 1

Oil-free high intensity Mineral Concealer effectively covers imperfections like dark spots, discoloration and blemishes for a perfect and even tone. Developed using a high level of color pigments to create translucency and reduce the appearance of imperfections. Perfectly balanced to match your skin tone perfectly without ash tones or a chalky look. Can be used to camouflage rosacea and even severe pigmentation. Contains Vitamin A, C and E

The concealer was a Godsend.  I loved it.  It has a thick, creamy consistency and it blended in well and gave really good coverage.  A little goes a long way, so I’ve barely made a dent in this!

Mineral Loose Foundation

photo 3

This formula melts into your skin. One of the purest and most natural forms of foundation available, with perfectly balanced color pigments proven to meet skin tones. No ash tones, no opaqueness, no chalky look just a silky luminous vitamin enriched formula that is oil-free, fragrance free, safe for people with sensitive skin, and does not clog pores.

This was the only item of the 3 that I don’t really use anymore.  I’m really not sure what happened, or what caused it, but every time I used my Mia Mariu Loose Mineral Foundation, my skin started itching.  Not a severe itch, but just little pin prick feelings on the skin at random.  I wasn’t sure which of the 3 products was causing it, so I started using them each one at a time to narrow down the culprit, and it was the Loose Mineral Foundation.  Not sure if it’s just me and I’m not sure what’s causing the reaction, but I stopped using this particular item.  I still use the Primer and Concealer though.

Now some before and after shots

Before

Before

So here’s where I start.  Hair pulled up and out of the way and a freshly cleansed face for a bare canvas.  My eyebrows are a little haywire at the moment, sorry!

After

After2

I really loved the results I received, but as I said, I cannot use the Mineral Loose Foundation.  Aside from that though, it looked great!

Overview

Overall, I have had a very positive experience with the Mia Mariu brand.  I have a few of their items at home, and hadn’t had any reactions or issues until the Loose Mineral Foundation.  Everyone reacts differently to products, and for whatever reason, this one just didn’t work with me.  The primer and concealer are must haves for me and they performed incredibly well.

I’m not sure whether I prefer liquid or mineral powder foundation. I like them both. I’m sorry that the foundation made you itch because the products looked fabulous on you, just beautiful!

As I’m getting older (37), I think my skin looks better with liquids rather than powder foundations which tend to age the look of my skin.

BeautyJudy August 4, 2014 - 4:17 pm

You look beautiful! Sorry that the powder made you itchy but awesome that the other products worked out!

I’m kind of 50/50 and don’t really favor one over the other when it comes to liquid or powder. I don’t need much coverage so that’s probably why. I definitely want to try the concealer!

Phyrra August 4, 2014 - 5:33 pm

Your skin looks so velvety soft!

I usually use BB or CC creams.. but lately, I’ve fallen in love with powder foundations again. I’m having great luck with IT Cosmetics powder foundation, and I’d love to try this brand. Sorry it didn’t work out for you, but you do look great – both before and after the makeup! I’d love a tutorial on how you do your brows.

I prefer powder foundation because to me it doesn’t feel as heavy on.

Destany August 5, 2014 - 3:45 am

Liquid, for me, are a little easier to control. However, it’s been so long since I’ve worn foundation maybe my opinion is invalid! haha

Anastasia August 5, 2014 - 6:52 am

I liked the primer the most, it’s a great product.

Natalie F August 5, 2014 - 7:31 am

I prefer liquid foundations. Powder just doesn’t seem to work the best on my dry skin. Although I do like powder when I’m in a rush or on the go.

You look great!

Sara Kover August 6, 2014 - 4:27 pm

I always used liquid up until recently, now i only really use it if I’m contouring. For every day use I actually really like powder foundation, if you use it with the right primer I think it leaves my skin with a smoother look.

Ashley Wasnick August 6, 2014 - 5:43 pm

Powder!

Mel August 6, 2014 - 8:27 pm

I definitely prefer liquid, but I haven’t used powder much to compare.
