I personally did NOT experience any reactions when using these polishes, but many did. Please know I would have been fully transparent had I known the damage that was being caused. You are going to be seeing a LOT of Mentality Nail Polish swatches over the next couple of weeks! Tonight I’m starting with the newest additions to The Top Coat Collection!
Both of these lovely top coats are GOLD top coats! One is a yellow gold and one is a white gold! Take a look!
24K Gold Top Coat:
This is pure 24 karat gold leaf in a suspension base top coat! The base does look slightly milky, but it applies completely clear. I only used 1 coat of 24k Gold for this mani, but I did need to use the dabbing method a little to get the flakes onto my nail. I layered 24k Gold over Mentality Respect, which you will see in a review tomorrow!
12k Gold:
12k Gold is pure 12 karat white gold leaf in a suspension base top coat. Much like the 24k Gold, I only used 1 layer and I used the dabbing method a bit to get the flakes onto the nail. I layered 12k Gold over Mentality Innocence which you will also see in a post tomorrow on its own. I am absolutely in LOVE with this combination! I wear mainly white gold as well when it comes to jewelry, so I will be using the top coat a lot!
Both of these Gold Top Coats need to be rolled to mix! Since there are Stainless Steel balls inside, if you shake it up, it chances breaking the flakes down a bit. If you wish for the flakes to be smaller though, just give it a quick shake for that, otherwise just gently roll!
Both of these applied really well, but as I said – the dabbing method is needed to place the flakes. Everything did lay flat though and was easy to work with.
