***Added 7/23/15 – please read this announcement ***

If you have purchased from Mentality from April 2015 – June 2015 and you are experiencing sensitivity, itchiness or burning, please contact Mentality directly to have your polishes replaced. Their email is [email protected]

I personally did NOT experience any reactions when using these polishes, but many did. Please know I would have been fully transparent had I known the damage that was being caused. Again, please read the announcement above and by clicking on it, you will be taken to Mentality’s initial statement regarding the issue.

I’m still fairly new to stamping, even though I’ve been practicing at it for about a year now.  Over that year though I have basically been using Mentality Nail Polish to practice and grow with it, so every time they put out more stamping friendly products, I get ridiculously excited.  Everything from their normal stamp friendly polish (which trust me, a lot can be worn as polish but also stamps extremely well) to their Nail Art Glazing set has really gotten me on a good path.

Today I have their Opaque set to show you which is a collection of 10 polishes made specifically to stamp with, not to wear as a stand alone color.  All 10 shades cover the base color (I use Scoundrel to stamp over) and gives a nice vibrancy.

All of the color names are self explanatory, so I don’t feel the need to describe each color, it would get rather repetitive :)

Let’s take a look

Scoundrel

Ok, so Scoundrel isn’t part of the Opaque line, but if you are looking for a good black to stamp over, this is the one I use.  I’ve seriously gone through 4 bottles of this stuff to date and it’s the black I wear when I need one, so I thought it was worth mentioning in this post.

Overview

I had a great experience using these stamping polishes.  The Opaque Collection gives great coverage over black, but also has a special glowing factor within each color rather than a flat shade.  These shades dry fast and transfer with ease (even though I do move too slow at times)

Price: $6.50 Each

Set Purchase Price: $68.00 for all 10 Opaques plus the Gloss top coat or purchase the Opaque and Glazing set together for $120.00

I seriously need all of these. I’m tired of putting a stamp on only to see that the polish doesn’t look good over black. These opaque colors are the bomb!

Is it bad that I know what plates most of these designs are from? LOL. Beautiful stamping job! These polishes are gorgeous!

I just bought opaque red and opaque green. Was very excited to get them, but to my disappointment, I struggled for two hours and the polish just wouldn’t get on the stamper. I started to think there was something wrong with the stamper, but then I switched back to Sinful Colors white and it worked perfectly again. Is there a trick to using these polishes? What stamper do you use?

I am new to stamping but had great success with Zoya and Sinful Colors.
