Happy Sunday! It’s been a productive weekend, but it was also the weekend of “The Perfect Storm” for me. I had 3 big blog projects all come down to just about the same due date and… I was slightly in panic mode. Somehow … it all came together though and I was able to blow through 92 swatches since Friday.

Anyways, tonight we’re going to focus on the Makers Dozen September 2019 shop and the theme is Birds!

Since this is all still new, we’ll go over what the Makers Dozen is about and how it works:

Makers Dozen has 12 set makers each month. Those makers are:

Jior Couture, Sassy Pants Polish, Zombie Claw Polish, PI Colors, Copacetic Cosmetics, Baby Girl Lacquer, LynB Designs, Leesha’s Lacquers, NeVerMind Polish, Alter Ego Nail Enamel, Ms. Sparkle, and Inspurrrations.

The 13th maker each month will be a guest maker. The September guest maker is Music City Beauty!

Each month will have a new theme, September is Birds. Each maker is given a color to work with, and each month the color for each maker rotates. So if a maker does purple for July, they won’t do purple as their main color scheme again for 13 months as it rotates through. While each maker is given a color, they have creative freedom on how to use and incorporate that color. It can be within any shade range of that particular color or a prominent element within the polish.

If you noticed I called this a collaboration and not a shop. There is no set “shop” for this. Each polish is available in each individual maker’s store. Only 40 bottles of each polish will be made and they will be available in each store for the ENTIRE month (unless their 40 bottles sell out.) They will continue to be available after the month is over if there are leftovers.

As of right now Delanie of Swatch The Box and I are the “official” swatchers for this box so you have a set blog and a set live view for posts, but each maker had the ability to send to their own swatchers as well. To see more swatches, you can join the Makers Dozen Facebook Group.

Now we’ll get into my photos for the Makers Dozen September Collaboration. Links to each shop will be below each individual description, as well as links to their fan groups and social media.

Jior Couture | Singin’ Sweet Songs (Magnetic)

Singin’ Sweet Songs is a blackened blue flash holographic magnetic with bronze and holographic blue flakes. The magnetic effect is on the subtle side, but still visible. I used 2 coats, glossy top coat and an arc magnet for these photos.

Sassy Pants Polish | Birds of a Feather

Birds of a Feather is a cool toned rose pink crelly base with assorted pink, brown and white glitters, taupe and white micro flakes and holographic sparkle. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Zombie Claw Polish | Shadows Of A Raven

Shadows of a Raven is a black crelly base loaded with micro flakes in a rainbow assortment of colors, as well as gold flecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

PI Nail Colors | Burning Corona.030

Burning Corona.030 is a deep burnt orange metallic base filled with brown, gold, and green flakes, orange, pin, and gold iridescent flakes, as well as blue, green and gold shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Copacetic Cosmetics | I Don’t Give A Hoot

I Don’t Give A Hoot is a warm brown based metallic like base with bronze glitter and white micro flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Bird is the Word is a medium grey crelly base with micro black, blue, pink and silver flecks and glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

LynBDesigns | Cockatoodle-Doo (Solar)

Cockatoodle-Doo is a white (indoors) to pinky coral (in UV/sunlight) solar polish with red to green aurora shimmer and tiny red to gold shifting flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Leesha’s Lacquers | Pajaros Del Mismo Plumaje (Thermal)

Pajaros Del Mismo Plumaje is a forest green (cold) to bright green (hot) thermal with gold shimmer flecks mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

It’s been mid 90’s to 100’s here so getting more “cold” images was difficult. The tips are all the cold color (as well as the bottle) though.

Talk Birdy To Me is a magenta based scattered holographic with color shifting glass flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Alter Ego Nail Enamel | Western Bluebird

Western Bluebird is a clear base with blue, orange and white microglitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. If you use a thin top coat, you may need 2 coats for a smooth finish since the microglitters make it mildly textured.

Angry Birds is a cool toned red creme based scattered holographic with iridescent pink flecks and gold microflakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspurrrations | Psalm 9:14

Psalm 9:14 is a medium pearl purple with red shimmer and small sparks of red glitter. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Each individual price is shown within each listing as well as the shop link to grab that polish from. You have the whole month to shop, but there are only 40 bottles of each shade. Once 40 bottles sell, that’s it.
