Tonight I have the Literary Lacquers Vurt-U-Want collection to share with you! This 8 piece collection consists of 3 glittery holographics, 2 classic holographics, a matte glitter, a matte shimmer and a glitter top coat.
This beautiful Summer collection is inspired by Vurt by Jeff Noon, the 1990s classic cyber-hallucinogenic novel.
Literary Lacquers Vurt-U-Want
Vurt-U-Want is a neon pink linear holo with holo microglitter. I used 2 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.
Literary Lacquers Thermofish
Thermofish is a bright aqua-cyan linear holo with holo microglitter. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Literary Lacquers Blue Lullaby
Blue Lullaby is one of my favorites of this collection! This is a deep bright blue linear holo with holo microglitter. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Literary Lacquers Bottletown
Bottletown is a green linear holo with rainbow flakies and glass flecks. I used 2 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.
Bottletown had a quicker dry time for me for some reason. I did have to work quicker for this. It didn’t cause any application issues, just noting that it did have a fast dry time.
Literary Lacquers Dreamsnake
Dreamsnake is a slightly dusty violet linear holo with green flakies and glass flecks. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Literary Lacquers Shadowgirl
Shadowgirl is a soft blue toned grey matte packed with holographic and metallic glitter in silver and blue. I used 3 thin coats for these photos, no top coat. This was incredibly sheer, so this would also work nicely over a grey or light blue base.
Because of the sheerness and needing 3 coats, the glitters did give an uneven appearance. As you will see below, 1 coat of top coat did even it all out.
Literary Lacquers Shadowgirl With Top Coat
Shadowgirl takes on a whole new holo look with top coat, so I needed to show that too!
Literary Lacquers Curious Yellow
Curious Yellow is a taxi yellow matte with gold glass fleck and flakies. I was actually surprised at how much I loved this one, the intensely shimmered matte just gives a beautiful look. I used 2 coats, no top coat for these photos.
Literary Lacquers Curious Yellow With Top Coat
Like Shadowgirl, I had to show Curious Yellow with top coat! I still like it, but I absolutely love it without.
Literary Lacquers English Voodoo
English Voodoo is inspired by the knowledge feather known as English Voodoo, magenta holo microglitter, 2 sizes of black hexes, black holo triangles and a smattering of marigold matte small hexes to represent the deadly side of this feather trip. I used 1 coat over a white creme for these photos.
Literary Lacquers Vurt-U-Want Collection Overview
Overall, I found this to be a nice collection. Several stunning shades and my top picks are Vurt-U-Want, Blue Lullaby and Curious Yellow. There weren’t any application issues to really mention other than what I already said in descriptions. Bottletown had a faster dry time than the rest and Shadowgirl was incredibly sheer on its own which did cause an uneven finish without top coat. No deal breakers by any means.
