Julep Maven Starter Box

by Lisa Heath

My boyfriend and I both signed up to become a Julep Maven.  LoveforLacquer gave us a code (LOVEFORLACQUER) to receive our first box for only $4.99 (usually it is $19.99 a month) so we decided to try it!  If you haven’t signed up yet – you should!  Use the same code we did and get your first box for only $4.99 !

I got my box in a couple of weeks ago, but my boyfriends box came in today, so I will be reviewing his!  He got a Bombshell Box which contained Nail Lacquer in Carrie and Megan, Julep Glow On Age Defying Hand Brightener, a sample packet of Julep Facial for Hands and Julep Everyday SPF hand cream.

I really liked Megan Nail Lacquer. It’s described as a Mediterranean aquamarine shimmer.  It went on smooth and was extremely pretty.  I only did 2 coats, but I think I should have done 3.  The color is sheer and even after 2 coats wasn’t quite opaque enough for my taste. It dried fairly fast and was ready for a second coat within 3 minutes.

Carrie overall is a decent color, it is a cotton candy pink cream. I don’t see myself wearing this alone for a mani, I would need to do a glitter top coat or something, because I kind of find the color boring.

I haven’t used Glow On just yet – but when I do I’ll post up about it!  I’m sure it will be perfect for using after Juleps Facial For Hands I got in my Julep box a couple weeks ago!

Just to sum up this box Nick got for $4.99 (first month is $4.99 each month after is $19.99)  contained 2 full size Julep Nail Lacquers (their polishes retail for $14.00, so right there its a $28.00 value) and Julep’s Glow On retails for $32.00.  So I (err my boyfriend) got $60.00 worth of items for $4.99!

I’m really looking forward to future Julep boxes!
