I just shared Cupcake Polish’s contribution for Crystal’s Charity Lacquers, and now I have the Joy Lacquer Duo For Crystal’s Charity Lacquers.

Crystal’s Charity Lacquers has been involved in charity runs for a number of years. She started Crystal’s Charity Lacquers last April after contacting a handful of brands with the idea of creating custom or one of a kind polishes that would be given away to people who supported her fundraising through donations. She was overwhelmed by the brand support and on June 5th, she launched the group, Crystal’s Charity Lacquers, to the public. The first two events were fundraising giveaways benefiting the SPCA and The Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research. The success of those giveaways was beyond anything Crystal’s Charity Lacquers had hoped or dreamed and it brought her to tears of gratitude more than once. After the giveaways wrapped, she wanted to keep momentum in the group going until the next giveaway (which will be this Spring!) and launched the monthly sales, each benefiting a different charity.

Crystal’s Charity Lacquers will be working with Cupcake Polish and Joy Lacquer this month for this fundraiser! They have created two beautiful custom polishes each for the group, which will benefit MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) in memory of Duane Pearson.

MADD is an advocate and a support system for those who have been affected by drunk driving.  These accidents are 100% preventable.  MADD’s mission is to stop impaired driving and to support victims of this violent crime.

Let’s check these shades out.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT DUANE PEARSON:

Duane Pearson was a dad to 3 beautiful daughters, a brother, a son and so much more.  He was loved by so many.  His youngest daughter lost her dad at only 15 years old.  She never got the chance to take him on her first drive.  Her father wasn’t there when she graduated this year.  He won’t be there to walk any of his girls down the aisle at their weddings. On January 17th, 2014, Duane’s life was taken by the hands of a drunk driver.  Duane was driving to work.  Duane was only 46 years old.

The man who killed Duane was a repeat offender.  He is 32 years old.  He had been caught and convicted of driving under the influence twice before.  Who knows how many times he drove drunk and wasn’t caught.  On that January night, he made the choice to drive drunk once again and although he walked away unharmed, his choice was a fatal choice for the Pearson family.

On May 31st, 2016 the person that killed Duane was finally sentenced.  He was sentenced to a mere 4 years in jail and a 10 year driving ban.  This was the sentence for a multiple offender, with no remorse and no respect for the conditions placed upon him after he killed Duane.  The system is broken.  It is in Duane’s memory and along side MADD that we join the fight against impaired driving and call for better laws and stronger punishments for those who continue to drive drunk or drugged.

MADD is an advocate and a support system for those who have been affected by drunk driving.  Drunk driving accidents are 100% preventable.  MADD’s mission is to stop impaired driving and to support victims of this violent crime.
