Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain Swatches and Review

by Lisa Heath

About a week and a half ago I received the 8 new Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stains and I cannot express how much I LOVE these!

I’ve been wearing a different one every day to see how long each lasts.  All 8 shades are completely wearable for me which is a huge plus!

The Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stains are basically chunky twist up pencils.  They apply so smoothly, just like a balm and over time the “balm” wears off and you are left with a pretty wash of color that is stained into your lips.  They are long lasting and perfect for work when you don’t want to have to keep reapplying!

Lets take a look!

Nude Chic

Nude Chic is the palest of the shades!  This is a pale taupe with a touch of pink and some shimmer.  The shimmer is really subtle.  Nude Chic is very close to my natural lip color, so when it wore off the stain looked close to my normal coloring but with a little oomph.  Basically “my lips but better”!

Wear Time: 7 hours.

Sweet Pink

sweet pink

Sweet Pink is a blue toned bubblegum pink.  I can only pull off certain pinks, and this is one of them.  Most look like I was chugging pepto and got it all over.  When the balm wears away and it leaves the stain, this gives a nice light pink hue to your lips.

Wear Time: 6.5 hours

Tropical Frenzy

Tropical Frenzy is a vibrant magenta .  When the balm wears away it gives your lips a still vibrant light magenta stain.

Wear Time: 6 hours

Candied Coral

Candied Coral

Candied Coral is a favorite of mine and the longest lasting on me!  Candied Coral is a light medium coral shade.  When the balm fades away, the stain is a little oranger than the balm was, but still wearable for my skin tone.

Wear Time: 7.5 hours

Honey Love

Honey Love is the perfect go-to “safe” color!  If you have to be careful about what color makeup you wear to the office, then this is perfect!  Honey Love is a pale beige pink and when just the stain is left, it’s pretty much the same shade (just minus the balmy look).  Another “my lips but better” shade!

Wear Time: 8.5 hours

Cranberry Crush

As much as I love the “office safe” shades, these bright ones really make me smile!  Cranberry Crush is a vibrant fuchsia pink.  When the balm wears off it still leaves a vibrant stain behind that is just a touch lighter than you see in the photo.

Wear Time: 6.5 hours

Rock N Rouge

rock n rouge

Rock N Rouge looks completely different on my lips (because of pigmentation) than it did on my arm (part of why I prefer to show actual lip swatches… on the arm can be deceiving for me).  Rock N Rouge is a pinkish red on my lips, but the stick and on my arm looked more orangey red.  This is a great shade for girls who love reds, but have some trouble pulling them off.  When the balm wears off the stain left behind is a medium red.

Wear Time: 6 hours

Terra Crave

Terra Crave turned out more pink on my lips than I expected it to.  This is a pink toned caramel like color and it’s another “my lips but better shade” that’s incredibly suitable for the office.

Wear Time: 8 hours

Overall, I absolutely LOVE these Jordana Twist & Shout Moisturizing Balm Stains!  The wear time was really good for a stain, the colors were all wearable for me and they are NON DRYING!

Keep in mind, everyone is different – these shades may show up different on you than they did me due to lip pigmentation.  I based my “wear times” on when the actual stain started to get patchy on my lips and needed to be reapplied.

The balm feeling wore off on each lip stain after about 2.5-3 hours and the stain literally felt like nothing was on.  My lips felt normal, no dryness, no flaking, nothing.

Price: $2.99 (That’s a STEAL!)

Where to Buy: Walgreens and on the Jordana Website

My Top Picks: Honey Love, Candied Coral, Rock N Rouge and Cranberry Crush

Keep an eye out for these!  If you love lipsticks these are amazing and you should try them!  I was hesitant because with a lot of products you really “Get What You Pay For” so when things are priced at lower prices like these are, they usually don’t give off good pigmentation or don’t last long.  If these were priced at $6.99 – $9.99 I would STILL buy them.  They are THAT good!  So at only $2.99?  You better believe I’m buying backups.

I have several more Jordana Cosmetic Reviews to show you in the next day or two, so be ready!
