Halloween Fun with LUSH Cosmetics

by Lisa Heath

Halloween is right around the corner, and as an adult I don’t get as excited about the candy anymore (oh who am I kidding… yes I do!) but after a long day of running around making sure your kid is set for the school Halloween party, then (try) getting them fed and heading out for trick or treating… you really just want to relax when it’s all done.  Especially when you know the next few days are going to be filled with a sugar crazed child bouncing off the walls!

LUSH Cosmetics has 2 Limited Edition Halloween goodies to give you a pleasant and relaxing bath experience to unwind, relax and rest your overworked body! They also have 2 year round items that are must haves this time of year!

Pumkin Bubble Bar

Pumkin

Ahh yes, the item that makes my son squeal when he sees it.  The bubble bar!  To use a bubble bar, you simply crumble it under running water and watch the bubble flow!  Pumkin scents the water with a fabulous mix of orange flower absolute and ylang ylang oil  and even tints the water just a bit!  This is a Limited Edition item, but if you really love the scent (and I do!) you can pick up LUSH Figs and Leaves soap year round!  Also – my son is nuts about bubble bars!  I usually purchase the kids bubble bars and bath bombs for him, but as he gets older (and we know what he may or may not be allergic to!) he does dive into mom’s stash when bath time approaches!

Price: $5.95 per bar

Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb

Lord of Misrule

My personal favorite – the Bath Bomb!  For the bath bomb, simply fill your tub with water, drop it in and watch the colors swirl in the water while the relaxing fragrance fills the room!  Lord of Misrule is a rich, spicy herbal blend of patchouli and black pepper oil.  The real fun part (ok I’m still a kid at heart!) is after the gorgeous deep green of the bath bombs is done, the center of the bath bomb is a rich wine color.  Since the colors swirl in the tub, it’s fascinating for me to see the water change from a calming pale green to a vibrant wine shade!  You also get a little surprise when the popping candies inside start crackling. The scent also lingers!  I could smell it on myself for at least an hour after leaving the tub!

Ceridwen’s Cauldron Bath Melt

cauldron

I didn’t know what a Bath Melt was until my love affair with LUSH started 5 years ago.  Bath Melts are the ULTIMATE in pampering!  Bath Melts contain natural butters to moisturize and soften your skin, loads of gorgeous essential oils to get you smelling divine, and then each different one contains a little something extra for it’s own boost!  Ceridwen’s Cauldron Bath Melt is a mix of  oats, lavender and sandalwood to calm and soothe your irritated, sensitive skin.  It also contains  nutritious cocoa butter and walnut oil which melt into the bath water to soften your  skin.  It comes in a muslin wrap – but don’t take it out!  When the melt is done, the muslin bag catches the oats within the melt to make cleanup easier.  The muslin bag also works well as a skin calming scrubby when you are done!  Just leave the oats in there ;)

Price: $8.45

Demon In The Dark Soap

Demon in the Dark

Now my boyfriends favorite soap (and mine too on those extra sleepy mornings!)  Demon In The Dark Soap is a refreshing boost of both peppermint and spearmint oils and organic apple juice to stimulate the surface of your skin and make it brighter and cleaner.  The mix of mint and clove bud leaves your skin tingling and it’s a nice wakeup!   This is definitely a unisex type scent (unlike Fairy Floss – which my boyfriend mistakenly used one time…)  and we both enjoy using it!  Just make sure you peel off the outer black wax Demon In The Dark comes in ;)

One of these days I will get around to trying those bubble bars! That soap looks so nice as well. I shower in the morning, so a wake-up scent is perfect.
