Celestial Cosmetics Nail Lacquer Swatches & Review

by Lisa Heath

I have another Celestial Cosmetics swatchfest to show you tonight!  This is a nice combination of 9 Celestial Cosmetics polishes and a matte top coat that are available on Color4Nails, which is an online shop that carries an amazing assortment of indie polish brands.

Celestial Cosmetics Collage

Celestial Cosmetics is an indie brand based in Australia and her polishes (especially the holos!) are some of the best I’ve used.

This is a long post full of photos, so I am going to jump right into it!  As always, for color accuracy, please refer to the first 2 photos in each series.  Those are taken in normal lighting, while the second set of 2 photos is under a lamp to show the holo off, which alters the shade.

Elegantly Wasted

Elegantly Wasted

Elegantly Wasted is probably my favorite of the group, both in color and in name, so I’m starting with this one.  Elegantly Wasted is a deep plum linear holographic shade.  I used 2 coats for this photo and a glossy top coat.

Sand Dunes

Sand Dunes is a beautiful bronze linear holographic.  Sand Dunes is probably the strongest of all the linear holos I’m showing you tonight.  I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Jax

Jax

You all probably figured this out by the name, but Jax is part of the Sons of Anarchy Collection from Celestial Cosmetics!  Jax is a sheer steel blue polish packed with micro holographic glitter.  It isn’t super holo-y but you get sparks of color as you move around.  I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Harley Dyna is another polish from the Sons of Anarchy Collection.  Harley Dyna is a black jelly base filled with various colors of multi glitter and holo micro glitter.  I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat.

Anti-Matter Matte Top Coat

Anti Matter Matte Top COat

I like mattified glitter polishes, so I decided to use Anti-Matter Matte Top Coat over Harley Dyna!  I used 1 coat and it was good, but took a little longer than most matte coats to dry.  I could see some light brush strokes in the top coat, but overall – it was pretty good and gave me a nice matte look but you can still see the gorgeous micro glitters of Harley Dyna still sparkling through.

Overview

Once again Celestial Cosmetics has made some incredible shades!  The formula on all 9 polishes was simply phenomenal.  The colors are beautiful and the holographic shades were strong even in normal lighting.  I had no application issues to report other than Anti-Matter having some visible brush strokes on application and taking a little longer to dry than other matte top coats I’ve used.

Price:  Celestial Cosmetics range from $9.00 to $12.00
