Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Dad’s Mixtape Side B Collection & January 2017 Destination Duo

Press Sample

I had every intention on swatching this collection when it arrived last week, but life got in the way and my son needed to come first. Luckily things are working themselves out, so I had some time to squeeze this in before the preorder ended! I have the Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Dad’s Mixtape Side B Collection & January 2017 Destination Duo with Contrary Polish to share with you!

A few months ago I showed you Dad’s Mixtape Side A and this is a sort of continuation of this. We’ll look at the Blue Eyed Girl January releases, and then jump into the Destination Duo Julie did with Carrie of Contrary Polish!

3 of these shades shown below are for Dad’s Mixtape Side B and 2 are releasing with them, but aren’t part of the collection.

Goin’ Way Down South

Goin’ Way Down South is a medium jewel-toned green with blue to purple to pink shifting shimmers. I used 2 medium coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade is part of the Dad’s Mixtape Side B

Four Star Daydream

Four Star Daydream is a clear based glitter topper with various shapes and sizes of gold metallic and gold holographic glitters. There are hexes, dots, squares and stars mixed within. I used 1 coat over Goin’ Way Down South for these photos.

This shade is part of the Dad’s Mixtape Side B

A Soul for Sale or Rent

A Soul for Sale or Rent is a black jelly base packed with blue-purple iridescent microglitter, silver ultra holo glitter, pink to purple to blue to gold UCC flakes, green to blue to purple UCC flakes and platinum micro flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. You might need 2 coats of top coat as this does dry down with a texture due to all the glitters and goodies within it.

Green’s Alexandrite with Me

Green’s Alexandrite with Me is from the Green Color Box and this is a deep green linear holographic with green to blue to purple UCC flakes and aqua to green shifting flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.  I did need to float these coats on gently to distribute the flakes a little better. It’s cold in our office (Nick likes to blast the air conditioner) so it very well may be the temp in here that made the polish different to apply.

My Precious

I still love the hell out of this polish.

My Precious was from Cyber Monday and it was a free gift with purchase, but now you can order it! This is a blue leaning purple crelly base with red to gold to green shifting iridescent glitters mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer & Contrary Polish January 2017 Destination Duo

Contrary Polish joins Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer this month for the Destination Duo! Their polishes are based off the photo below that Carrie took at the Sundance Film Festival!

Contrary Polish Meet Me Under the Marquee

Contrary Polish Meet Me Under the Marquee is a taupe crelly base with holo flakes and multiple variations of multichrome flakes, the most prominent are the green to gold to red-violet flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

 Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Special Selection

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Special Selection is a black cherry jelly base with gold micro flakes, gold ultra holo microglitters, copper to gold to fuchsia UCC flakes and green to pink to gold UCC flakes. The more coats you do, the deeper the color gets. I personally used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Dad’s Mixtape Side B Collection & January 2017 Destination Duo Overview

Like some previous months, I really like the various finishes offered this month. My top picks would be the Destination Duo and My Precious. Everything offered is really well done, but those ones have my heart! I had no application issues other than what was mentioned with Green’s Alexandrite with Me, but that could be the temperature issue within my workspace.
