Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips Violet Night and I Dare You Review and Swatches

Here is part 2 of my Sally Hansen package – Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in Violet Night and I Dare You.  I have seen Sally Hansen’s Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in just about every drugstore I go into, but never purchased a box.  I also usually make a stop around the holidays to see what special patterns are available, but even their normal line has impressive designs and vibrancy in color.  I have placed them in my basket, but somehow always talked myself out of buying them, mainly for fear I won’t be able to apply them or they won’t work as intended.  My nails have a very prominent curve to them so getting things to lay flat on them is usually a challenge for me.

Each box of Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips comes with 16 nail strips, a mini nail file, a cuticle wooden stick and instructions.  At the beginning I needed to figure out which strip would fit which finger best.  This wasn’t too difficult to figure out, you just hold strip to your nail and see which one sits on your nail bed easiest and covers the entire nail best.  Each end of the strip is also a different width.  After finding the best strips for your nails, you need to start off pushing your cuticles back a bit with the wooden cuticle stick and then use the light grey side of the nail file to lightly buff your nails.  Once this is done, remove the clear plastic protector of the nail strip you will be using and peel the strip from the back protector.  Place it over the nail and firmly press it down. The strips are like a thick layer of saran wrap and easily adhered to my nails and I was able to stretch them a bit to remove bubbles and creases in the strips to look more natural.  I used the darker pink side of the file to gently file off the excess strip and then smoothed out the strip over my nail.

I’m still mourning the loss of my right thumbnail :(

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in Violet Night was my favorite color of the 2 I was sent.  Violet Night is a vibrant violet color and looked opaque on the nail.  I Dare You is a true red but when the strip went on, it was definitely sheerer than Violet Night.  I put these strips on yesterday around noon, and it is now 10am the following day and they are still holding strong.  I did dishes, showered, took Christmas lights down and various other house chores and there isn’t even a ripple in my Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips, so I am pretty impressed by that.  When I do dishes and shower I use EXTREMELY hot water, which is a nail polish no no, but I love hot water so I can’t help it!  The strips don’t look fake either, they hug my nail and are glossy enough that they look like I painted my nails flawlessly.

After trying these strips, I will be more apt to purchase more in the future, especially the holiday strips for pretty designs I could never do myself!  I don’t think they will ever replace actual nail polish for me, but there are uses for them.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips are available at CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, and Ulta.  They usually retail for $9.99

They look nice! I’ve never thought about trying them before, but they do look fun to try,

It was different to try, but I liked the end result. I really did expect them to look really fake, but they didn’t.

LOVE I Dare you! That is such a pretty red! From the pictures they don’t look like stickers, would anyone notice at a closer look?

At a closer look it isn’t obvious it’s a sticker at all. It even feels like polish on the nail because it hugs it so closely

The last time I tried these I had some difficulty applying them for the same reason. My nails are VERY curved, and for some reason they just didn’t go on right!

I am going to have to try again though, because some of the designs looks so pretty!!

I want to pick up some of the holiday and normal designs now even more!

magnificent publish, very informative. I’m wondering why the other experts of this sector do not
realize this. You should proceed your writing. I’m sure,
you have a great readers’ base already!
