Soothe Your Dry Skin with Dove DermaSeries

Disclosure: Post sponsored by Mirum Shopper but all opinions are my own.

Let’s face it, most of us suffer from dry skin. For some of us it’s on our face, for some it’s our elbows and knees, and for some it’s simply all over. Personally, I have dry spots on my face (chin, cheeks and around my nose) as well as my elbows and hands. If you suffer from dry skin in any area, then you may want to take a look at the Dove DermaSeries at Target.

There are 8 products for the face and body in total in the Dove DermaSeries and I picked up 3 that I felt were best for what I needed. Over the next 3 weeks I’ll be using them and sharing my results with you on Social Media. I didn’t want to go crazy yet since I am in tax season at work, so things are super hectic.

I kept it simple and went with the Dove DermaSeries Dry Skin Relief Face Wash, Dry Skin Relief Face Cream and the Dry Skin Relief Repairing Balm. This allows me to have a quick and easy morning and night face routine and something to soothe my hands, since those suffer the most abuse on my blog.

So what IS the Dove DermaSeries? It’s a collection of products that offer instant relief and lasting comfort when extremely dry skin flares up. All of the products within the Dove DermaSeries are hypoallergenic, dermatologically-tested, fragrance free and suitable for eczema and psoriasis-prone skin.

7 of the 8 products currently in the Dove DermaSeries line are for Dry Skin Relief, and 1 is a body lotion for Eczema Relief. I don’t have Eczema or Psoriasis, so I won’t be able to comment on whether they helped those conditions personally BUT I do have dry and sometimes itchy skin.

Let’s look at the 3 products I picked up and talk a little about them.

Dove DermaSeries Gentle Cleansing Face Wash

The Dove DermaSeries Gentle Cleansing Face Wash is a gentle cleanser for dry skin. It’s a creamy daily face wash. First thing I noticed was that it didn’t feel like other cleansers. There was no slight sting or zesty refreshing feeling. It was simple and very mild. It rinsed clean and my skin doesn’t feel tight after using. It felt soft, smooth and clean.

After using, I almost felt like I could skip a moisurizer. I didn’t, because I’m testing products here, but I didn’t feel the immediate need I usually do to slather moisture into my face.

Dove DermaSeries Replenishing Face Cream

After using the face wash, I followed up with Dove DermaSeries Replenishing Face Cream. Only some areas of my face are extremely dry, so I was careful to apply it mainly to those areas and only do a very thin layer over the areas that aren’t as dry.  An important thing for me is that it contains broad spectrum SPF 15, and even in the Winter – SPF is important.

I found this to be a thicker moisturizer and very comfortable on the skin. A little does go a long way, so no need to go crazy with it. 2 pumps was all I needed for my face and neck.

DermaSeries Expert Repairing Balm

Dove DermaSeries Expert Repairing Balm is a skin balm for dry, rough patches – or areas that just need a little more TLC. I’m in my busy season at work, so that means paper cuts, dry skin and lots of rough patches. I am also trying to keep up on my blog load, which consists of a ton of nail products – so I wanted something to keep them in check. This is the current state of my nails/ cuticles before I started trying this out.

I do a lot of closeup and that just isn’t visually appealing. I’ve been using it for a week so far, and I am seeing some results

So lets hope in 3 weeks it’s even better!

I’m looking forward to trying this out! One thing about the Dove Brand, is that they seem to really take their time with formulating products until they feel they’ve got it right. They don’t just put out products to have something on the marketplace. Can I ask how you found the face wash for removing makeup?

I agree about their formulations! As for removing makeup – I’ll have to try it. I’m so used to removing makeup with Micellar Water or a remover of some sort before I wash my face that I haven’t tested that aspect!
