I have 11 shades from the SinfulColors Back to School 2015 A Class Act collection to share with you today! This set includes all 9 of the demi matte finish shades. 10 of these samples were sent by SinfulColors PR and 1 I picked up while browsing Rite Aid (I had to complete the demi mattes…)
The full A Class Act collection is 27 shades, but a lot of them are repromotes so I tried to pick 10 shades I didn’t have and the demi mattes just called to me. What are ‘demi mattes’? They are in between a matte and a creme look. They behave like a matte in the sense that you have to work fast before they dry but they don’t fully dry down to a matte look – it’s inbetween. Waxy looking almost.

A-Crush

A-Crush is the one shade I picked up to complete the demi mattes in the collection, and I’m glad I did because it’s my favorite of the demi matte shades. A-Crush is a softer baby blue. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Blackboard

Blackboard will be used a lot by me as a base and had prefect application. This is a black demi matte that required 2 coats. You can see by the closeup below just how well this applied.
Whiteboard

I had high hopes for Whiteboard after I saw Blackboard, but it fell flat. Whiteboard is a white demi matte. I found application to be thick, patchy and it had self leveling issues. You will see from the photo below that it didn’t behave nearly as nice as Blackboard did. I used 3 coats.
Chalk It Up

Chalk It Up is a pistachio demi matte. I had minor self leveling issues with the formula. Shown is 2 coats.
Hazed

Hazed is a red toned violet demi matte. The formula on this one was identical to Chalkboard so it was easy to apply, self leveled and looked really nice once completed. 2 coats for these photos.
Pink Break

Pink Break is a light pastel pinkish peach demi matte. Nice application with just the slightest self leveling issue, but not horrible. I used 2 coats for these photos.
RADient

RADient is a raspberry demi matte. Great formula and application. I used 2 easy coats for these photos.
Truth Or Lavendare

VIPeach

Based off the name… I’m not sure why this isn’t a peach color. VIPeach is a yellow demi matte. I used 2 coats for these photos. Self leveling issues were present with this one and it was a little thick.
Energetic Red

Energetic Red is a bright orange toned red creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Night Owl

Night Owl is an iridescent glitter top coat with bar glitters, hex and shreds. I used 1 coat over Hazed.
SinfulColors A Class Act Collection Overview
There are 27 shades in the new collection, but the standouts are the demi mattes (all of which I showed you above). Night Owl is nice and for the price, worth grabbing – but if you love the matte like shades, grab the demi mattes. The demi mattes I mainly suggest are Blackboard, A-Crush, Hazed, RADient and Pink Break.

Really appreciate the close ups to show the issues with the finish/self leveling etc. Just helps to know what you are in for with some polishes, ahead of time!
Some are definitely more severe than others as far as issues go, but I figured the closeups would give people a slightly better idea :) Thanks!
I’ve been hearing a lot about the demi mattes on one of the FB groups I am in. I have so many untried polishes that I decided not to get into the crazy of trying to find that whole collection, as some are doing. One of my matte top coats gives me a satin or almost matte look that I use on regular polishes to give me that finish. That being said, these are so pretty! Walgreen’s is having their .99 cent sale on Sinful Colors now and I am seeing lots of photos of peoples’ hauls on the group site. I keep telling myself that I am NOT going to Walgreen’s! LOL, I keep myself distracted with other things around the house or the ‘Net. But, hahah, then I see your beautiful swatches!
Wow, Hazed is beautiful. I’m really sad that I didn’t get that one now… I’ll just have to go buy it. ;) (OH THE HORROR….!!!! Jokes! xD)
