It has been a super busy, but super amazing month. Nick and I started house hunting a couple weeks ago, and on Friday we viewed a beautiful ranch style home, complete with BBQ area, pool, finished basement and 2 car garage. We put a bid in… and the sellers accepted. We were first to see the house and first to make an offer – so we are incredibly happy. Inspection is this week, so fingers crossed it all goes well and we continue on with the purchase! Guess this makes Massachusetts super official, huh?

Anyways – the house viewings put me behind a bit, but I’m pushing through and we’re gonna look at the Polish Pickup February 2021 World Travel offerings I have for this month!

So far I have 98 offerings to share and a couple still on the way, so I will add those in when they get here.

First things first. My nails aren’t “mine” for this entire post. I had a bad break before starting on PPU swatching, and I broke out the Kiara Sky Gelly Tips kit in Short Coffin. I did do a full post on those, so click the wording if you want to see. So yes, my nails look different because they are for now.

For the fine details – for all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off BaseRogue Lacquer Cactus Water top coat (except for when I used Vibrant Vinyls), and Rogue Lacquer Mirage Matte Top Coat. I purchased the Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues, but the Rogue Lacquer Top Coats were both sent as PR.

I do use artificial lighting for my photos. I get the most done at night, so I swatch a lot at night. My current setup uses GlamCor Pro LIghts and I use the Ultra X Model and this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).

This is an EXTREMELY photo heavy post. If there is something specific you are looking for – on desktop hit CTRL + F and type what you are searching for. Otherwise, enjoy the long scroll down the page, and of course the giveaway at the end.

The February shop will be open from February 5th – February 8th and wishlisting opened up today.

Let’s get this going. I do understand in some photos my skin looks… dry and weird. It is. Cold weather, plus 16 thermals, plus latex (the peel off for stamping has been drying me out more) was not good. I’m sure remover didn’t help.

Anyways – here we go.

Alchemy Lacquers | Dreamland Sunset

Inspiration: Dreamland Sunset was inspired by a beach my husband and I were visiting in Bali called Dreamland Beach.

Description: Dreamland Sunset is a  lavender crelly with red to orange to gold to green shifting flakes and red to orange to gold to green shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $11.50 | Cap: 250

Foaming Mani/Pedi Fizzies | All Mixed Up Lacquers

Inspiration: Inspired by Glacier lagoon in Iceland

Description: 2 pretty pink heart shaped fizzies scented in Frozen Berries. A fresh sweet berry, apple, cinnamon, and fresh cedar scent. Fun colors will peek out as they dissolve.

These fizzies have nourishing vitamin e, almond oil, and jojoba oil to soften.

So these are basically smaller bath bombs made for feet and/or hands. You can take a small piece of one, drop it in and let it fizz up and the oils mix in the water, then soak. I made the mistake of too much water in a bowl… and a full fizzy. Boy does that get a LOT of fizz to it. But at least it smelled amazing!

The scent to my nose is raspberry and something kind of clove like. It’s an interesting combo and I really enjoy it. Both mine have been used already and the scent lingered and was lovely. Fruity and warm.

Price: $7.00 | Cap: 35

All Mixed Up Lacquers | So Icy Baby (Solar & Thermal)

Inspiration:Inspired by Glacier Lagoon in Iceland

Description: So Icy Baby is a trio thermal and solar polish. The thermal shifts white (hot) to soft blue (warm) to dusty purple (cold) and in artificial UV or Sunlight, it shofts to a light pink (hot) to light purple (warm) to bright purple (cold). It was 7 degrees the day I did this one and the windchill made it “feel like” – 11. My hands were ice even though we had the heat pumping so I did the best I could with shifts on this. I got 2 colors from each, but that 3rd was hard to do with the chills.

I used 3 thin coats and I forgot top coat for these photos.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: 150

Alter Ego Body Care Products | Redwood Reaches For The Sun

Inspiration: Hubby & I went to Muir Woods when we went to San Francisco. To stand under a redwood and look up is phenomenal! I saw nothing but the tree trunk, leaves and patches of blue sky :)

Description: Redwood Reaches for the Sun is a  reddish leaning brown with blue shimmer and green microglitter. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $10.00 | Cap: None

Price: $14.00 | Cap: 200

AURORA 5-Free Nail Lacquer | Bridge to the Cinematic Universe

Inspiration: Inspired by Bifrost

Description: Bridge to the Cinematic Universe is a deep blue jelly base loaded with geometric micro glitters and rainbow iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Admittedly – I do not know what geometric micro glitters are. They are super sparkly, but they aren’t holo. I know what geometric means, but i’m not sure if it’s just relating to the shape or if it’s a special glitter. Either way – this is insane sparkles. If you grabbed any of her last few polishes – it’s the same thing, different base color.

Price: $12.00 | Cap: 200

Baby Girl Lacquer | Loyal Doggo Hachiko (Magnetic)

Inspiration: Inspired by the heartwarming story of Hachiko’s Statue in Shibuya, Japan.

Description: Loyal Doggo Hachiko is a chocolate brown base with bronze magnetic shimmer and rainbow metallic flakes. The magnetic effect is subtle and my camera wouldn’t pick it up. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $11.00 | Cap: 150

Acetone Antidote by Baroness X | Chai Tea

Inspiration: Inspired by “the transportation of variants of teas via the Silk Road and by boat. “Both tea and chai originate in China — but the way we refer to the “tea” stems from how it arrived in its different locations. Tea by sea and chai via the Silk Road. The words that look like “cha” travelled over land, imported by the Persians, via the Silk Road whilst the “tea” variants were moved by water, spread by the Dutch East Indian Trading Company (the VOC) traders who brought the tea to Europe.”‘

Description: This month’s Acetone Antidote scent is Chai Tea, ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon bark blended with black tea.

To my nose, it’s slightly sweet but spicy tea. I really like this scent and it made me want a chai tea to enjoy during this chilly weather!

Acetone Antidote is an additive for your acetone to protect your skin from the harshness of acetone. It contains glycerin and jojoba oil to help protect and moisturize your nails, skin, and cuticles during polish removal. Plus, no more ashy, dry skin!

Price: 4.25 | Cap: None

Baroness X | Silk Road (Fluid Art)

Inspiration: Inspired by silk and other textiles traded and traveled along the silk road.

Description: Silk Road is a copper metallic fluid art polish with blue to red ultrachrome chameleon flakes. I used this on it’s own on the index and pinky nails, and I did fluid art with it using Serum No 5 Aventurine and Fancy Gloss Pitch Black. I actually really love it both ways. Although as fluid art, it seems to enhance the other polishes and help them create cells and add the shimmer. It’s hard to tell that it’s this color doing it all. Very nicely done and might be one of my favorites. I’d love to see a silver like this one.

Price: $12.00 | Cap: None

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Tartaros

Inspiration: Since we aren’t traveling, we’ve been playing more video games and picked the Tartaros vaults from Immortals Fenyx Rising as inspiration

Cadillacquer | Horu (Thermal)

Inspiration: Inspired by the probably most famous landmark of Switzerland, the Matterhorn. Horu means horn and that’s how the mountain is also called in the canton of Valais, where the Matterhorn is located.

Description: Horu is a blurple (cold) to white/colorless (warm) crelly based thermal, with iridescent flakes, small holo flakes and a strong pink shimmer.I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Again, it’s been cold here so capturing thermals before shifting back to cold was a rush. This one was very reactive and started going back to cold state during photos. It did get to a lighter whitish shade as the warm shade though before photographs.

The scent is familiar and I’m trying to place it. It’s sweet and lightly floral with a little bit of a delicate musk. It reminds me of a BBW or VS fragrance and it’s been so long I can’t place exactly which – but it’s heavenly.

The water abundance in such a dry place results in an interesting phenomenon, which is called Super Bloom. Death Valley becomes covered with thousands of wildflowers and is absolutely gorgeous! Stamping Polish & Cinnabar Pigment Kit by Hit the Bottle | Stuck on You

Inspiration: Inspired by world travel

Description: A sticky black stamping polish to be used with pigments or nail art foils. An instruction leaflet will be included with your product for easy reference.

For use with pigments start with a matte or semi-matte base. Stamp with “Stuck on You” wait about 30 sec then gently apply pigment to stamping. Polish stays tacky for ample amount of time, so you don’t need to rush with pigment application. Seal with a water based or gel topcoat.

So basically this is a sticky black one coater that you use to stamp, and then burnish in. The powder that comes with this is the much loved black to red to gold shifting multichrome pigment.

You do need to stamp on a matte base so the pigment doesn’t stick – then leave as matte or top coat with a water based top coat, then quick dry to glossy it all back up. I kept it matte because I loved the look!

Base color is Maniology Dovetail. Plate is Apipila’s plate this month.

Paradise is our nod to those refreshing citrus drinks, starting with a strong note of fresh-squeezed limes, sweetened by hints of pineapple, zesty orange, and lemon. Subtle notes of gardenias finish off this citrus scent. Soft lime and cream swirls of sugar are accented by a dusting of biodegradable glitter. This refreshing, bubbly lime scent, is perfect for anyone who longs for the warmth of the tropics and the weight of a cool drink in their hand.

This smells like a bubbly lime italian soda almost. It does have a soft floral, but the sugar coated, tangy lime and fizzy like scent hit my nose immediately, then I can detect some pineapple.

I got this a couple days ago and only melted one so far, but on dry sniff, they all smell amazing.

  • Almost Paradise – Creamy coconut milk combined with peaches and fresh cream.

  • Cherry Mist – A knock-your-socks-off true black cherry.
  • Rain – A truly refreshing, clean aroma with top notes of fresh rose petals, middle notes of wisteria and cyclamen, bottom notes of sandalwood and vanilla.

  • Meditearean Market – Woody myrrh fragrance adorned with a touch of lavender, clove leaf, and patchouli set upon a bed of sweet musk.
  • Golden Sands – Notes of apple, black coconut, and cassis intertwined with the intoxicating allure of jasmine and gardenia blossoms, orange flowers, and finishing with sandalwood swirled with seductive Tonka bean and pale driftwood.
  • Honeysuckle & White Patchouli – A beautiful, soothing blend of fragrant Chinese honeysuckle and relaxing patchouli.

Da Balmer by Red Eyed Lacquer | (Mount) Halla Back Y’all

Inspiration: Inspired by Mount Halla, South Korea

Description: Da-Balmer is a cross between a balm and body butter. It’s creamy like a body butter but has a more emollient feel like a balm would. It’s an intensive treatment you can use anywhere (I love it on cuticles of course) but a little goes a long way. If you use too much – it will feel very oily (like a balm would) so start with a little and build up if you need more.

This months scent is a clean and fresh scent with tropical fruits and sugared citrus notes. My nose detects a sugared grapefruit scent and it’s delightful

Price: $7.50 | Cap: 65

Bath Bombs by Vapid. | Full Size Duo

Inspiration: Inspired by travel

Description: You get 2 full sized bath bombs with this listing.

High Desert Sky is a Crescent Moon shaped bomb that is both refreshing and warm. Geranium, bubbly grapes, and the softest hints of rose entangle with lime orange a touch of patchouli, and a warm backing of musk, vanilla and coconut. It’s intoxicating call of the desert sky will relax and invigorate. This bomb is yellow and will tint the water.

El Cosmico was created a shape of their iconic trailers, painted in bright colors and patterns for a cozy stay in Marfa, TX. This is the more earthen of the two scents, brisk and grounded. The cool nights and festivals are invoked with Spanish rosemary and mint, and hints of lemon. But the Provision Co. at El Cosmico, the desert essential magickal little shop at El Cosmico, is represented by Tonka, patchouli, lavender, and Ylang Ylang for a well rounded and ultimately balanced scent.

Both smell amazing and have a uniqueness to them. This is on dry sniff, I haven’t used them just yet in the bath because I haven’t had time to relax in a bath in a bit… showers only (don’t worry – i am showering)

These trailers will vary in color, as do the trailers at El Cosmico, they are package randomly, and it will be a surprise what color trailer that will be received.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: 100

Vapid. | El Cosmico (Tri-Thermal)

The Night Sky is one of the most incredible in this area of the state, with the light levels being almost non-existent.

Description: El Cosmico is a yellow (hot) to red-orange (warm) to red (cold) with green shimmer, black matte glitters and pink glitter. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: 340
