Inspire His Style for Back To School

How is Summer vacation almost done? Didn’t it just start? I’m already feeling frazzled from the Back To School shopping rush, and I don’t even have his full list yet. Check this out, his school gives out the official lists on August 15th… and school starts August 16th. So if you live around me in the Bay Area, look out for the crazy looking rushed moms.

You know what I don’t need a list for though? His hygiene products. Jacob is entering the 7th grade and he is so into the whole smelling good thing (thank goodness) and I really have AXE to thank for that.

We’ve talked about it here before. My son used to just say “I need soap and deodorant” and it was very blah. I would also have to hound him to USE IT. Then I took him shopping one day and showed him the AXE section and told him to sniff around and find what he likes. He. Went. BONKERS. After that wonderful day, he’s been completely into smelling good and switching up what he uses. It’s been almost a year since that took place and he never let up.

We went to Ralphs to grab some necessities this weekend for the home, and while we were there I decided to go ahead and let Jacob pick out his back to school AXE products.

What did he grab? Pretty much the WHOLE SHEBANG of the AXE Phoenix line. The AXE Phoenix line is a scent blend of Crushed Mint and Rosemary, so you get that clean, cool minty scent with a little masculine herb going on. He feels a bit more grown up, and I can breathe around him.

He is going to start his mornings in the shower with AXE Body Wash and 2-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner.

My son has my hair, it’s thick and fast growing. I HAVE to use conditioner after shampoo, but he isn’t interested in the additional step. So the 2-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner keeps his hair healthy, shining and silky (I say fluffy but he hates it when I call his hair that..)

The body wash gives him a grown up smell that’s not too perfumey so he can use it without worrying about setting off someone’s scent sensitivities. We try to be mindful of that since he will be in a confined classroom with lots of other kids.

And here are the AXE products that started it all. Their antiperspirant & deodorant, as well as the deodorant body spray. I started him off on these 2 products and then we graduated to the 2-in-1, Body Wash and hair styling products (yup, they have those too!)

I actually bought 2 of each of these. We keep one set at home and he keeps the second set in his backpack for after PE.

Also, did you know about Ditch The Label?  For each purchase of an AXE Styling product this summer at Kroger, AXE will donate $0.25 to Ditch The Label, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $50k and a max donation of $125k! I always love it when companies give back and it makes me even happier to support them!

I can’t imagine my second grade grandson wanting these but I know it’s going to happen. Growing up is hard on parents and grandparents!
