Happy Tuesday! I got really caught up this weekend – so I’m ready for some new posts. First up I have the Fandom Flakies Box for June 2022 – and the theme is Bob’s Burgers!

The guest maker for June 2022 is Wildflower Lacquer! As always, the guest maker selects the monthly theme and Wildflower Lacquer decided on Bob’s Burgers.

So basically Fandom Flakies Box has 2 constant makers – Night Owl Lacquer and Bee’s Knees Lacquer. Ribbits Stickits is also a familiar face to the box – bringing fun add ons to the box to really bring the theme to life. Then there is a guest maker. The guest maker each month picks the theme for the box and the themes range from video games to tv shows to movies. Sometimes others – but those are the most common. Basically anything with a possible “fandom” is fair game in this box.

Every month when the shop opens there are 40 Ready To Ship boxes made. Usually it will be said as “RTS” and that’s what that means. They are ready to go.

When you purchase a box, you will only receive the 3 polishes. It’s a flat rate of $33 plus shipping for the 3 polishes, and if you want to add Ribbits Stickits goodies – then the price goes up depending on what is added. But the baseline is $33 for the 3 polishes shown.

Want only the Ribbits Stickits addons? That’s perfectly fine – you can buy those alone as well.

Once the 40 RTS boxes are gone – they essentially go into preorder. The preordered boxes will ship between 2-4 weeks after the shop closes. They do aim for sooner but as we all know – USPS has a mind of its own and it’s just not always possible.

All polishes within the box are exclusive to the box. I believe the Ribbits Stickits items are as well.

Let’s jump right in and take a look at the June 2022 box!

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | I Can Smell Fear On You (Reflective Glitter)

I Can Smell Fear On You is a medium rosy magenta jelly base loaded with green to purple iridescent flakes and silver light reflective glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The flakes and reflective glitters do create a slightly thicker polish, and it dries down with a texture. Both are manageable, but you might need a glitter smoothing topper and top coat combination for a smooth finish.

Night Owl Lacquer | Time for the Charm Bomb to Explode

Time For The Charm Bomb To Explode is a neon blue crelly base with blue to aqua glass flecks and lime to blue to purple crystal chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

On removal, my gel nails were just slightly Smurfy tinted. This could be a gel nails thing, but just a reminder to use a good base coat. It wasn’t a strong tint/stain, but enough that I felt it necessary to mention.

Wildflower Lacquer | This Is Where I Thrash

This is Where I Thrash is a light purple jelly base loaded with aqua to green to purple shifting flakes and scattered holo. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ribbits Stickits | Frogetaboutit Acetone Additive

Frogetaboutit Acetone Additive is a small vial of liquid that you shake up and pour into your acetone to lessen the harsh effects. It takes away that ashy look acetone can leave behind on your skin, plus gives a burst of scent to sort of cover up the smell of acetone.

If you are new to Acetone Additive, I suggest you shake the vial, pour in half, test the acetone and then pour in more as you see fit. Depending on your skin type and what type of remover you use, the amount of additive needed with vary. If you tend to have oily skin – too much will make you oily, too little and it won’t seem like you used any. It’s a balancing act so add a little, test and add more as needed.

For June, the scent is ‘Wonder Wharf’ and it’s described as cotton candy, caramel apples, and funnel cake with a touch of sea salt, ozone and citrus.

My nose picks up the cotton candy and citrus immediately, and then a touch of caramel apple. It’s a sweeter scent but the sea salt and ozone tone it down a little so it’s not “kid like” sweet, if that makes sense? I don’t smell much funnel cake, but I suspect it also helps tone down the sugary sweet a bit.

This is an add on item and will be $4.50

Ribbits Stickits | Un-frog-gettable Hand & Cuticle Cream

This hand and cuticle cream is thick enough so it can be used every day in small amounts, or slather it on at night for a more intensive treatment.

Ribbits Stickits | Water Slide Decals

For June, we have 2 sheets of Bob’s Burgers themed water slide decals! I did the photos and mani using these, but below I also did a step by step of how I apply them. I’m adding it in mainly because I was asked by several people over the last few months.

These are like temporary tattoos for your nails. I usually cut the image I want off the sheet, set in water for 10-15 seconds, then remove the image from water and place face down on a stamping head. Then I slide the paper backing off leaving just the image on the stamper. Then I stamp the image down onto my nail firmly, lift stamper and then top coat.

There are other ways to do it – this is my preferred method.

Decals are an add on for $10.00

Step by Step Water Slide Decal Application

This is my container. It’s just a small beauty container I got in a travel set at Walgreens. I fill this with water for the waterslides to be placed in. I also sometimes use a shot glass. Really any container works.

I cut out the desired design. I usually round the edges and cut as close to the design as possible.

Place the decal in water for 30 – 45 seconds.

Remove the decal from water and place image down on your stamper head.

Slide paper backing off. Then place over nail, stamp down and “roll” the stamper off.

This way you can see where you are placing it but it also smooths application and prevents “folding” of the decal. Then top coat and done.
