We’re back after a short break, and we have another Fandom Flakies Box to share and it’s the first box of 2024! For the February 2024 theme… we have Labyrinth!

For February, LynBDesigns joins Fandom Flakies as the guest maker and they selected the theme. To see everything applied and demonstrated, be sure to check out my YouTube:

If you are newer here, let’s go over the Fandom Flakies basics! So basically Fandom Flakies Box has 2 constant makers – Night Owl Lacquer and Bee’s Knees Lacquer. Ribbits Stickits is also a familiar face to the box – bringing fun add ons to the box to really bring the theme to life. Then there is a guest maker. The guest maker each month picks the theme for the box and the themes range from video games to tv shows to movies. Sometimes others – but those are the most common. Basically anything with a possible “fandom” is fair game in this box.

Every month when the shop opens there are 40 Ready To Ship boxes made. Usually it will be said as “RTS” and that’s what that means. They are ready to go. Once the 40 RTS boxes are gone – they essentially go into preorder. The preordered boxes will ship between 2-4 weeks after the shop closes. They do aim for sooner but as we all know – USPS has a mind of its own and it’s just not always possible.

When you purchase a box, you will only receive the 3 polishes. It’s a flat rate of $33 plus shipping for the 3 polishes, and if you want to add Ribbits Stickits goodies – then the price goes up depending on what is added. But the baseline is $33 for the 3 polishes shown. Want only the Ribbits Stickits addons? That’s perfectly fine – you can buy those alone as well.

Subscriptions are currently unavailable! Anyone with a previous sub will need to resubscribe when the new subscription service is up and running – the plan is for that to be ready before March’s box.

Okay, hope that was clear… it was a lot. But let’s dive in and take a look!

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | That’s Not Fair

That’s Not Fair is a grass green jelly base packed with orange to gold to green iridescent flakes, as well as silver metallic flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I used thin coats and didn’t find it necessary to use a glitter smoothing topper. Depending on coat thickness though – you may need it.

Night Owl Lacquer | As The World Falls Down

As The World Falls Down is a blackened blue jelly base loaded with silver holographic micro flakes, as well as bright blue and silver metallic flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Again, I used thin coats and didn’t find a need to use a glitter smoother – but if you use thicker coats, you may find it necessary.

LynBDesigns | It’s Only Forever

It’s Only Forever is a deep plum purple (cold) to clear (warm) jelly based thermal with pink to orange to gold to green shifting iridescent flakes, black flakes and holo flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ribbits Stickits | Acetone Additive

Frogetaboutit Acetone Additive is a small vial of liquid that you shake up and pour into your acetone to lessen the harsh effects. It takes away that ashy look acetone can leave behind on your skin, plus gives a burst of scent to sort of cover up the smell of acetone.

If you are new to Acetone Additive, I suggest you shake the vial, pour in 1/4, test the acetone and then pour in more as you see fit. Depending on your skin type and what type of remover you use, the amount of additive needed with vary. If you tend to have oily skin – too much will make you oily, too little and it won’t seem like you used any. It’s a balancing act so add a little, test and add more as needed.

February Scent: ‘Ello Come In Meet the Missus: white tea and garden sage with a hint of African violets, bergamot, lemon zest, mint, wildflowers, white grapefruit, and sugarcane with a base of frankincense, fir, cedar, basil, rosemary and vetiver

My nose primarily picks up the violet and some mint… but not peppermint – more natural lighter mint.

Ribbits Stickits | Water Slide Decals

These are like temporary tattoos for your nails. I usually cut the image I want off the sheet, set in water for 10-15 seconds, then remove the image from water and place face down on a stamping head. Then I slide the paper backing off leaving just the image on the stamper. Then I stamp the image down onto my nail firmly, lift stamper and then top coat.

Each sheet is an add-on for $6.00

Base color used for water slide decals is Daveen Lacquer Fire Piranha.

Fandom Flakies Box February 2024 | Labyrinth

This is another nostalgic box for me as Labyrinth was a movie I saw a LOT when I was younger. I do love the themes that remind me of my younger-years.

Price: $33.00 + Shipping (Polish Only) | $43.00 + Shipping (Polishes + Waterslide Decal sheets)
Add On Pricing: Hand & Cuticle Cream: $8.00 | Acetone Additive: $4.00 | Waterslide Decals: $6.00 Per Sheet | Car Freshener $8.00 | Perfume Oil $10.00

Where To Buy: Fandom Flakies Shop

Remember – you can grab the Ribbits Stickits items without grabbing the box, as well as the box without grabbing the Ribbits Stickits. I keep saying this because it’s probably the #1 question I get regarding this box.

Thank you, Lisa! Beautiful swatches!
I haven’t done this box before and this may be my first time. I’m still on the fence about it.
