Happy Sunday! Today I have the Fandom Flakies Box for June of 2023 to share… and the theme is The Super Mario Bros Movie!

For June – Wildflower Lacquer joins the Fandom Flakies Box and they selected the theme of The Super Mario Bros Movie! Or simply “Super Mario Bros.” To see this box swatched and demonstrated, check out my YouTube channel below:

If you are newer here, let’s go over the Fandom Flakies basics! So basically Fandom Flakies Box has 2 constant makers – Night Owl Lacquer and Bee’s Knees Lacquer. Ribbits Stickits is also a familiar face to the box – bringing fun add ons to the box to really bring the theme to life. Then there is a guest maker. The guest maker each month picks the theme for the box and the themes range from video games to tv shows to movies. Sometimes others – but those are the most common. Basically anything with a possible “fandom” is fair game in this box.

Every month when the shop opens there are 40 Ready To Ship boxes made. Usually it will be said as “RTS” and that’s what that means. They are ready to go. Once the 40 RTS boxes are gone – they essentially go into preorder. The preordered boxes will ship between 2-4 weeks after the shop closes. They do aim for sooner but as we all know – USPS has a mind of its own and it’s just not always possible.

When you purchase a box, you will only receive the 3 polishes. It’s a flat rate of $33 plus shipping for the 3 polishes, and if you want to add Ribbits Stickits goodies – then the price goes up depending on what is added. But the baseline is $33 for the 3 polishes shown.

Want only the Ribbits Stickits addons? That’s perfectly fine – you can buy those alone as well.

All polishes within the box are exclusive to the box. I believe the Ribbits Stickits items are as well.

You can also sign up for subscriptions! This allows you to basically auto pay for the box each month to be sure you don’t miss it. Each month the subscription auto renews on the 13th (or 15th?) and you have until the 1st of the month to “pause” the sub if you don’t want the next one. There are 2 subscription options, the $33.00 options for just the 3 polishes, and there is a $43.00 options where you receive the 3 polishes and $10 worth of Ribbits Stickits goodies (usually water slide decals or vinyl sticker)

Okay, hope that was clear… it was a lot. But let’s dive in and take a look!

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | I’m The Most Powerful Turtle In The World

I’m the Most Powerful Turtle In The World is a medium green jelly base with pink to gold to green aurora flakes and scattered holo flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

If you have a strong VNL – it might show through this base. Also – some of the aurora flakes are CHONKY. I brushed 2 off while applying because they stuck out a little due to their size and the curve of my nail.

Night Owl Lacquer | You Got Luigi’d

You Got Luigi’d is a clear base packed with silver reflective glitters and lime to green to cyan to sapphire multichrome flakes. I used 2 coats, glitter smoothing topper and top coat for these photos.

This will dry with texture due to the reflective glitters and the flakes.

Wildflower Lacquer | Not Bad, Mustache

Not Bad, Mustache is a vivid medium magenta pink creme base with aqua to blue to indigo shifting shimmer and holo flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ribbits Stickits | Water Slide Decals

These are like temporary tattoos for your nails. I usually cut the image I want off the sheet, set in water for 10-15 seconds, then remove the image from water and place face down on a stamping head. Then I slide the paper backing off leaving just the image on the stamper. Then I stamp the image down onto my nail firmly, lift stamper and then top coat.

Each sheet is an add-on for $6.00. If you have the $43.00 Subscription, you will receive both sheets shown along with the 3 polishes.

Ribbits Stickits | Acetone Additive

Frogetaboutit Acetone Additive is a small vial of liquid that you shake up and pour into your acetone to lessen the harsh effects. It takes away that ashy look acetone can leave behind on your skin, plus gives a burst of scent to sort of cover up the smell of acetone.

If you are new to Acetone Additive, I suggest you shake the vial, pour in half, test the acetone and then pour in more as you see fit. Depending on your skin type and what type of remover you use, the amount of additive needed with vary. If you tend to have oily skin – too much will make you oily, too little and it won’t seem like you used any. It’s a balancing act so add a little, test and add more as needed.

The June scent is Peach, Peach, Peach and the scent description: a blend of ripe, juicy Georgia peach, peach nectar, fizzy champagne, and mandarin orange slices!

My nose picks up strong peach scent with the fizzy champagne. It reminds me of a peach lip balm I had as a teen but it’s not that fake plasticy peach scent. It smells slightly more fresh fruit like peach than the plastic like type.

This is an add on item and will be $4.50

Fandom Flakies Box June 2023 | The Super Mario Bros Movie

This is a nostalgic box for me since I do remember playing Super Mario Bros for hours on end with my sisters when I was still in the single digits … and I still own that Nintendo system we played on.

I do enjoy this box, but I was hoping for a nice Mario red within the box, so that was probably my only slight upset with it. However – the colors within it are still beautifully done to make up for that lack of red.

Price: $33.00 + Shipping (Polish Only) | $43.00 + Shipping (Polishes + Waterslide Decal sheets)
Add On Pricing: Hand & Cuticle Cream: $7.50 | Acetone Additive: $4.50 | Waterslide Decals: $6.00 Each Sheet

Remember – you can grab the Ribbits Stickits items without grabbing the box, as well as the box without grabbing the Ribbits Stickits. I keep saying this because it’s probably the #1 question I get regarding this box.
