Ethereal Lacquer | Murderino Trio & Harry Potter Collection

Press Sample of the Ethereal Lacquer
Murderino Trio & Harry Potter Collection

I know I’m running a tad behind. I’ve been sick all week and just really sluggish. Of course a cold hits on an incredibly busy release weekend too! But I’m plugging along. Today’s starter post is the Ethereal Lacquer Murderino Trio & Harry Potter Collection.

Altogether we will be looking at 12 polishes. 9 are Harry Potter inspired and 3 are part of the Murderino Trio.

The Harry Potter Collection has several toppers and sheer shades, as well as some jelly based flakes. A few of the polishes will come with similar colored “undies” to make them more opaque, but for my post I only used “undies” for the actual sheer toppers. I will notate which ones come with a free undie when you order though.

Also, I started this collection last week, before I got sick. Then finished it the last couple nights. My nails are different lengths in these photos. Some may not even notice, but it’s bothering me and I just don’t have time to redo them so they are all the same length.

We’ll kick this off with the Murderino Trio, then move on into Harry Potter!

Ethereal Lacquer | You’re In A Cult

You’re In A Cult is a pale, grayed out blue crelly base with strong copper shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Wait, It Gets Worse

Wait, It Gets Worse is a blackened purple based linear holographic with strong violet shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Stay Out Of The Forest

Stay Out Of The Forest is a pine green jelly base with copper red to gold to green iridescent flakes mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Ravenclaw

Ravenclaw is a dark indigo jelly with red to copper to gold to green iridescent flakes mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This base is on the sheerer side but it does build. This isn’t one of the shades that comes with undies, but you can use one if you wish to. I like building up with flakes like this because it gives the shade more depth.

Ethereal Lacquer | Slytherin

Slytherin is a dark emerald green jelly base with green to blue to violet color shifting flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Gryffindor

Gryffindor is a juicy red jelly base with red to orange to gold shifting iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Hufflepuff

Hufflepuff is a bright, cheery sheer yellow crelly base loaded with red shimmer. I used 3 thin coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.

Hufflepuff is one the shades that will come with a bottle of yellow creme “undies”

Ethereal Lacquer | Unicorn

Unicorn is an orchid pink tinted topper with aqua to green to violet iridescent flakes, as well as red shimmer. I used 1 coat over a black creme for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Thestral

Thestral is a sheer violet tinted base with red to green shimmer, as well as silver holographic flecks mixed in. I used 1 coat over a black creme for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Phoenix

Phoenix is the final “topper” and this one is a sheer blue base with iridescent flakes that shift through a whole rainbow of colors, plus red shimmer mixed in. I used 1 coat over a black creme for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Always

Always is a sheer, pale aqua jelly base with red to green shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and top coat for these photos.

Always is another shade that will have a matching blue creme to use as “undies” – I did NOT use a creme base for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | The Dark Mark

The Dark Mark is a sheer charcoal grey jelly with red to green shimmer mixed in. I used 1 coat over OPI We’ll Always Have Paris.

I usually do shades like this over black, but I wanted a vampy burgundyish base for this one.

Which are your faves from these two collections? I’m finding it hard to narrow it down myself!
