Ethereal Lacquer | Monarch Collection

Happy Saturday! Once again I’m back to show off an upcoming collection! Somehow I’m keeping ahead and plowing through my PR stack. I think I’m finally over whatever funk I was in. There was a long period of time I was coming home exhausted and napping, then getting up for 2-3 hours then passing out again. Then I got sick, which I’m over – but I passed it to Nick and now he has a dual ear infection (he typically gets them after having a cold) so that’s fun. Sorry Nick :(

Currently I’m also trying to stay ahead because in a little over a month I’ll be heading to Polish & Beauty Expo! Jacob will be coming with me again (he has a choice, and he wants to go) and neither of us have been to Illinois at all – so we get to do a quick little vacation.

Well onto the post… we’re looking at the Ethereal Lacquer Monarch Collection!

Okay, so the Monarch Collection is 7 pieces, but Meagan will also be releasing 4 blurring base coats (I have 2 that would work best for my skin tone) as well as a new Bauble! There is also a mystery shade, but I will be throwing that into its own post so those that want to keep it a surprise can.

So. Moving right along. I do have 2 of the 4 Blurring Base coats releasing. Here are all 4 descriptions so you know what’s coming:

Lavender- A milky pale lavender blurring base coat

Hibiscus- A medium coral blurring base coat

Iris- A deepened taupe blurring base coat

Rose- A rose pink blurring base coat.

I did pick Lavender and Rose – so you’ll be seeing those 2 in my post. While I do like Rose, I do feel that my pale, cool leaning neutral skin looked best with the Lavender base.

Okay let’s take a look – we’ll start with the base coats then move onto the new Bauble, then Monarch Collection! Also – just so it’s clear, I only used the blurring base under the Bauble in this post. I didn’t want to alter the others.

Ethereal Lacquer | Lavender (Blurring Base)

Lavender is a blurring base that is a milky pale lavender. I used 1 coat for these photos. This has basically a perfect crelly like milkiness to it.

This is my ideal blurring base coat of the group for my skin tone.

Ethereal Lacquer | Rose (Blurring Base)

Rose is a dusty rose pink blurring base. I used 1 coat for these photos. This is similar to a jelly leaning crelly consistency.

I could wear this color in 2 coats on it’s own. I see myself using Lavender more, but this works for me as well.

Ethereal Lacquer | Butterfly Bauble

Butterfly Bauble is a super sheer, cool purple base with red, pink, copper, gold and green shimmer. I used 1 coat over Rose blurring base, and I also show Butterfly Bauble alone in 2 coats alone.

Ethereal Lacquer | Sleepy Orange

Okay, I don’t do orange much – but this is amazing.

Sleepy Orange is a bright creamsicle orange crelly base packed with pink to orange shifting shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Dido

Dido is a pastel lime jelly base packed with pink to orange shimmer, as well as pink to orange to lime to gold to purple iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. 2 normal coats would work as well, but with flakes I prefer thin coats.

The flakes range from itty bitty to some honkers.

Ethereal Lacquer | Glasswing

Glasswing is a pale greyed out lavender linear holographic crelly based shade with strong pink to orange shifting shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy to coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Sky Bleu

Sky Bleu is a softy, dusty sky blue cream leaning crelly base with red to copper to gold to green shifting shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Butterfly Blush

Butterfly Blush is a bright, warm pink crelly base loaded with red to copper to gold to green shifting shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This is a good summer pedicure color.

Ethereal Lacquer | Flutter

Flutter is the purple version of Dido. Flutter is a lilac jelly base packed with pink to gold to orange to lime to purple iridescent flakes and pink to orange shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Again – much like Dido – these flakes range from small to large, but this felt like it had more large sized flakes.

Ethereal Lacquer | Papillon

Papillon is a cool toned cornflower blue creme leaning crelly base with pink to orange shifting shimmer and silver holographic flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Ethereal Lacquer | Monarch Collection

Okay so… first off I was surprised that aside from the mega flake polishes, all the other shades were 2 coat polishes. I’m used to Ethereal’s formula being more 3 thin coats for my preference. The flake shades (Dido and Flutter) could be 2 coats (especially with blurring base) but the depth looks better to me with 3 thin coats.

I will be showing the mystery shade in another post… probably tomorrow. But there is one more shade to share. I already posted the Customer Appreciation shades – so you can head HERE if you haven’t seen them. They all release on the same day.
