Enjoying The Last Days Of Summer With La Roche-Posay

Summer is coming to an end and we’re trying to make the most of our weekends while the weather still allows us to! Today we hit 104 here in California, so I packed up my son and we headed to my parents to enjoy some time on the delta in their houseboat. I grew up on the water, so I know how important protection from the sun is. I’ve been pushing my son to be diligent about it as well. Children have delicate skin, so it’s important to find the perfect sun scare to protect them.

I remember when I was younger, I went out on the water without sunscreen and I had an incredibly painful sunburn. My skin was deep red, I was covered in blisters and it was awful. I don’t want my son going through that. He doesn’t have my fair skin, but a sunburn is a sunburn.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Dermo-Kids was developed by dermatologists and it’s pediatrician tested. It provides broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection SPF 60, which is perfect to protect children’s sensitive skin. Best of all, it’s Fragrance free, Paraben free and Allergy tested.

Before heading out on the water today, I made sure to apply La Roche-Posay Anthelios Dermo-Kids, and I also took along Cicaplast Baume B5, and MY UV Patches.

Children only express discomfort when the damage is already done. Repeated sunburn may cause irreversible damage that could make the skin more fragile over the long-term. Because of this, you really don’t want to wait for them to tell you something is wrong. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Dermo-Kids offers water resistant protection for up to 80 minutes, so make sure you keep track and reapply after that long.

Usually when we go out on the water, or out in general, we make sure to have our sunscreen, but there are other items to take along too for various reasons. We all know the unexpected can happen on trips. A splinter, a skin irritation.. it happens! La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 is a multi-purpose soothing balm for dry skin irritations that’s suitable for adults, children, and babies over 6 months old. It has an easy to apply, lotion like texture. It’s non greasy, non sticky and light on skin – so once applied, you won’t even know it’s there.

1 tube works for the whole family, you don’t need various types for each person!

Now the really cool thing, we’re going to be out in the sun most of the day and La Roche-Posay My UV Patch is a product I had never heard about before! My UV Patch is an ultra-thin, ultra-water resistant and it’s adapted to sensitive skin.
It works with My UV Patch app (available for ios and Android) to provide you with personalized information when you are exposed to sun.

The My UV Patch is incredibly helpful! It is the first-ever skin sensor designed to monitor UV radiation to help measure UV exposure and risk. I get alerts sent to my phone so I can have an extra level of attention to my little boy.

Now that we have everything we need thanks to La Roche-Posay, we’re ready to head out on the delta and enjoy one of the last weekends of Summer.

You can find these La Roche-Posay products and more at your local CVS, or online at Amazon.

This sounds like great stuff! It’s so important to protect the skin. It’s hard to enjoy anything when you have a painful burn.

I got to try out the same stuff, and hands down it’s the best sunscreen that I’ve ever tried. I also love that it’s not thick and sticky!

That UV patch is awesome. That’s some great technology.

I grew up on the water, too. A day out in the sun is no fun when you’re not wearing sunscreen. These products sound awesome! The UV Patch is crazy cool!

My Son has very sensitive skin. I will have to pick up some La Roche-Posay Anthelios Dermo-Kids to try. We are planning on going on a cruise and he will need some good sunscreen.

Yay to soaking in every last bit of summer! :) I am going to have to look for this sunscreen. I keep hearing great things about this brand.

Those boats look enticing for sure. I love a day out on the water but with my fair skin I need all the sun protection I can get! I have not heard of this product myself so will check it out! Thank you!

This is definitely the next sunscreen I pick up for the kids. My little ones are blonde and blue eyed and have very fair skin so they can turn red in an instant. These all sound so great for them.

My kids are very fair and I have always been very careful about sun care. I would love to try this product, especially since we are headed to Mexico in a couple months. It is so important to stay on top of protecting your skin from the sun!

My fiancee just came back from a cruise with a sunburn! I am so mad he didn’t use sunscreen. I’m packing him some of this next time!

That patch sounds like a great idea! I always joke that I don’t tan, I lobster.

That is so cool that your parents have a houseboat! What a fun way to beat the heat! And La Roche-Posay has terrific sunscreens

I grew up around water and suffered many sunburns in my teens from not wearing sunscreen. This one sounds great!

All in all, that is a beautiful location. I have a road trip planned for this weekend, and SPF is going to be my best fiend. I have no idea how much darker I will get, but anything to prevent sunburns.

Protection from the sun is so important and it makes me crazy when people argue that it is not. I will have to try this product out!

I can’t believe summer is almost over already. I’m kind of excited for fall though. I do think sunscreen is still important even when it’s not sunny out.

Summer may be over but we still put sunscreen on our kids throughout the fall soccer season. Even if it isn’t hot out they can still get burned playing outside in the sun. In fact I know people who have gotten sun burned skiing in the winter. The snow actually reflects the rays increasing their impact against your skin. Always be prepared with sun screen no matter what time of year it is!

It is so important to make sure that our children are properly sunscreened. My daughter’s skin is super super sensitive so we need to find something that is really easy on her skin but that also protects her skin really well from being burned.

uprunforlife August 29, 2017 - 12:22 pm

Sunscreen is super important and we slather it on every time we are outside for an extended period of time. We spent quite a bit of time at the pool and we didn’t get burned.

Jillian Spellman August 29, 2017 - 12:28 pm

I had no idea that La Roche-Posay had sunscreen. I tried something from them a few years back for my face and it burned so bad. I think it was the ingredients. Maybe this one would be okay for me.

Chrystal | Nevermore Lane August 29, 2017 - 12:48 pm

Your photos make me want to head to the lake! You are right though, we all need to take care of our skin. It’s the only body we have!

ricci August 29, 2017 - 5:22 pm

That UV patch is a brilliant idea!! I am forever forgetting to reapply my sunscreen and I don’t worry so much about myself as I do my nieces and nephews!!

rika August 29, 2017 - 7:31 pm

I love La Roche products. I’ve heard great things about their sunscreen product line. I always use sunscreen with SPF 50+ for extra protection.

Adaleta August 29, 2017 - 8:33 pm

Nothing is worse than ending the summer with a bad sunburn, super smart to keep protected in the sun.

Lynndee August 30, 2017 - 4:46 am

Protecting our skin from the sun is very important and that’s why we don’t go out without applying sunscreen first. We’ve never tried this brand though. Sounds like a great brand!

Alex August 30, 2017 - 6:57 am

Enjoy the last days of summer! Protecting the skin from the sun is crucial, especially for kids. I had no idea that La Roche-Posay had sunscreen, so I will definitely give it a try.

Michelle Cantu August 30, 2017 - 11:49 am

My kids are prone to sunburns. I need to try this, our last road trip we realized my son was sun burned from the sun hitting his right side for 3 hours. It was awful.

Amber K August 30, 2017 - 1:03 pm

I get sunburn super easily so this would be perfect for these last few days of summer! I love your photos too

Anastasia August 30, 2017 - 2:01 pm

What a dreamy place! I’ve been using Anthelios sunscreens since the early 2000s, they’re great!
