What’s this?  More neons?  Why yes! Up tonight is the DIFFERENT dimension Back To The 70’s Collection which is a set of neon shades with small shimmer flecks mixed in.

I’m loving so many of the vibrant shades this year and really can’t get enough of the neons.  I’ve shown several collections now and what I was really fascinated with is the fact that all of the indie makers I’ve reviewed so far were all neons, but they all were a bit different.  Some were cremes, holos, thermals, shimmers… so they had that bright pop of color but different finishes.

Boogie

Boogie

Boogie is the neon lime green creme with shimmer flecks mixed in.  I used 2 coats for these photos.

Dream On

Dream On

Dream On is a red toned violet creme with shimmer flecks mixed in.  This is a touch darker in person, but still beautiful all around.  I adore this shade of violet!  I used 2 coats for these photos.

Far Out

Far Out

Far Out is a gorgeous neon blue with shimmer flecks mixed in.  I used 2 coats for these photos.  I did not experience staining with Far Out.

Psyche

Psyche

Psyche is the neon yellow with shimmer flecks in the collection!  For some reason my camera likes to show yellows as being more toned down than they really are.  In person this really leans more to a fluorescent neon yellow.  I used 2 coats for these photos.

In the photo below you can see a “ripple” near the of my nail. That’s not the polish, that’s actually the top coat.  It’s heating up here in California and I have a fan going which caused that ripple.

Right On is a neon pink with shimmer flecks mixed in.  I used 2 coats for these photos.

And last but not least, Skinney!  Skinney is a neon tangerine orange with shimmery flecks mixed in.  I used 2 coats for these photos.

A Little Nail Art…

Right On French

I rarely do nail art, and this is actually the first french manicure style I think I’ve ever done.  I had the urge to do a neon tipped french manicure and while I liked it, I just don’t think french manicures are for me!  I used Right On for the tips and flower petals, Psyche for the flower center and Boogie for the leaf looking things.  Not bad in my opinion though for a first timer.

Overview

All of these shades applied really well.  I didn’t have any application issues and loved the color I got in just 2 coats.  The shimmer flecks within each one are really sort of subtle and I liked that.

One thing you might notice is that these colors are similar to the 80’s Baby 2.0 collection I recently shared.  The base colors are the same pretty much but the 80’s Baby has holo and shimmer while this set has more of a flake shimmer added.  If you are like me and want all neons, then both sets are nice to have.  If you are saving money though, both sets are good and it really comes down to whether you want flake shimmer or holo more.  Either way though, you get a nice set!

Gosh, I like both of her neon collections! I have the original ’80s Baby collection but these look brighter.
