Happy Friday! I have another collection to share with you – and it’s a special one! This is the Bee’s Knees Lacquer The Radio Rental Collection! But why is it special? It’s also their 5th Year Anniversary Release! Why does it feel like they’ve been around so much longer? I’m about to go into my 11th year, and for some reason I keep thinking their time in the indieverse was close to mine.

Alright so originally this was a 14 piece collection, but one got yanked and now it’s just 13 pieces. But these 13 still pack a punch. I did a live swipe type video on Instagram again – and I’ll embed it at the end of this post so you can get an idea for opacity of each shade during application.

The Bee’s Knees Lacquer The Radio Rental Collection is inspired by some of BKL’s favorite creepy stories from the podcast. There are 2 Unicorn Pee shades in this collection – so if you buy the full collection, those 2 will NOT be included and you will need to add them separately to get the full 13 pieces. More on pricing and links and such will be at the end of this post.

This release will be taking place on 9/30, and along with it you will be able to snag overpours from These Hollow Vows as well as a couple of respawn shades.

Let’s jump in and take a look.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | The Man In Red

The Man In Red is a deep, cool toned slightly pink leaning red jelly base loaded with larger particle red to orange to gold shimmer flecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Always Check The Crawl Space

Always Check The Crawl Space is a sheer, pale pinky purple jelly base with larger particle red to orange to gold shimmer flecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This one could also be used as a topper due to the sheerer base color. If you have a strong VNL – it will show through on this shade.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Dammit Malachi

Dammit Malachi is a pumpkin orange jelly base packed with larger particle red to orange to gold shimmer flecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | The Tunnel

The Tunnel is a medium, semi sheer, grungy green jelly base loaded with larger particle red to orange to gold shimmer flecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Stronger VNL will show through for this shade.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | The Puppy People

The Puppy People is a deep violet leaning magenta jelly base loaded with intense larger particle green to blue shimmer flecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Stronger VNL lines may show through.

This is my top pick for this release.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Come Out, Come Out

Warning: This shade may stain. My gel nails did have a nice blurple tint on removal and that was with a peel off latex base and only being on about 20 minutes.

Come Out, Come Out is a deep cool toned violet jelly base loaded with green to blue larger particle shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This is slightly more purple/blurple toned in person.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | You Look Like You’ve Seen A Ghost

You Look Like You’ve Seen A Ghost is a medium toned bright purple jelly base loaded with cobalt blue shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

While the shimmer is intense in person, it isn’t as intense as my photos show. It really popped for photos, but it’s more toned down in person.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Tell Them To F*ck Off

Tell Them To F*ck Off is a cool toned lavender leaning violet jelly base with green to aqua to blue shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This is a sister polish to Doomicorn.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Roo’s Hollow (Magnetic)

Roo’s Hollow is a dark chocolate jelly base loaded with glowy blue shimmer and silver holographic magnetic pigment. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

The magnetic effect is on the subtle side and more of a “ghost” of a line than an in your face type effect. I only magnetized the middle 2 nails so you can see this polish both ways.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | He’s Mine (Magnetic)

He’s Mine is a medium periwinkle tinged blue jelly base with glowing red to green shimmer and magnetic holo pigment. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Again, this is a more subtle magnetic line. The shimmer makes it pop a little more than Roo’s Hollow does – but it’s still on the subtle side.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Turn Back (Reflective)

Turn Back is a deep coppery red to gold to green multichrome metallic like base loaded with emerald green reflective glitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | DNF (Unicorn Pee)

DNF (I honestly don’t know what this stands for) is a bright chartreuse jelly base with red to green unicorn pee pigment. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade looks very chartreuse in the bottle, but on my nails it looked more yellow. This is sheer and you will see VNL across the board with it on, whether you have a strong VNL or not.

Due to UP pigment – this shade will be $16, it will have a cap of 400 Bottles and it will not be part of the Full Collection if you purchase the full one – you will need to add separately.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | My Earliest Memories (Unicorn Pee Sibling)

My Earliest Memories is a deep raspberry jelly base with green to blue sibling unicorn pee pigment. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Due to UP pigment – this shade will be $16, it will have a cap of 400 Bottles and it will not be part of the Full Collection if you purchase the full one – you will need to add separately.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | The Radio Rental Collection

I had a few favorites this go around – but hands down the one that made me stop and stare was The Puppy People! Runners up were Roo’s Hollow, Tell Them To F*ck Off, My Earliest Memories and You Look Like You’ve Seen A Ghost.

how does you look like you’ve seen a ghost compare to lumen’s life potion? i tried putting your swatches side by side but you said the shimmer in the BKL isn’t as intense in person so i’m not sure.

THANK YOU! For both the gorgeous swatches and the heads up about intensity of shimmer/magnetic pull – honest reviews are deeply appreciated. I don’t know if it has a specific meaning in the world of this podcast the collection is based on, but DNF usually means “did not finish” as in a book you gave up on after a few crummy chapters.
