5 Beauty Essentials You Can Always Find At My House

Over my 7 years of blogging, you’ve all seen me mention products I’ve tried and enjoyed. Some I repurchased a time or two, others faded off and were replaced by the next new thing. Today though, we’re going to take a look at 5 beauty essentials you can always find at my house. These are products I’ve repurchased multiple times and basically need to have in my life.

We all have those products that may not get much spotlight, but they are part of your every day life. It’s almost to a point that you forget how many bottles or containers you’ve used and it’s just automatic to get a new one when you hit the bottom of the container.

Necessities, essentials, ride or die, holy grail… we all have a term for those products. Since we’re moving right along into Fall, I wanted to share my top 5 essentials because a couple are actually perfect for the season. They work all year round (I know because I use them all year round) but this time of year I not only buy to replace, I also buy a backup so I don’t run out.

Dove Exfoliating Body Polish with pomegranate seeds and shea butter is my must have body smoother. I like scrubs, which is what led me to try this initially, but nothing makes my skin feel as smooth as this stuff. It has a very fine exfoliation (which differentiates it from a “scrub” – those usually have larger particles) and I find that it gives me a smoother feel. It’s absolutely magical on the feet too. It has a whipped texture and a burst of tart and fruity pomegranate.

Dove Exfoliating Body Polish comes in a few scents, but this is my favorite.  Second favorite is crushed macadamia and rice milk.

This is especially needed in the Fall when my skin feels a lot drier and starts getting flaky.

My lips are always in need of help. Vaseline Lip Therapy is my go to. I have a little container on my desk at work, a backup in the drawer at work, one in my bathroom cupboard and one on my nightstand. I used to get the rosy one, but my son sometimes steals it when he runs out of his, and he didn’t appreciate the pinkish look as much as I do.

Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant is my #1 go-to for antiperspirant, and possibly the longest running must have in my arsenal. I don’t just have a backup of this stuff, I have 6 backups.  I simply can’t use anything else because it’s not as effective with my body chemistry. Leaves no white marks on my clothing either. Considering I wear black and dark grey tops a lot – this is important for me. I change tops in the morning a lot, last thing I need is white streaks. I never worry about it with Dove Dry Spray. If you haven’t tried it yet – this has been my Holy Grail product for about 4 years now I believe. Try it.

Simple Micellar Water! Another product I’ve probably used non stop for 3 or 4 years. I can remove my makeup at the end of the day, including my eye makeup and it doesn’t irritate my skin or eye area. If I had to estimate – I’d probably say I have gone through at least 40 bottles of this stuff. I have tried other brands of micellar water, but I keep coming back to Simple.

My 5th item is actually very new to my routine. Love Beauty & Planet Argan Oil and Lavender Smooth and Serene Leave In Smoothie Cream. I have a LOT of hair. It’s fine, but it’s thick. It gets a bit frizzy and dry though, so I needed something that would smooth it out but not give me that not-so-hot oil slick look. I’ve tried various oils and serums, and some were okay but nothing I was truly in love with. A really good friend of mine mentioned Love Beauty & Planet and I bought this smoothie cream and I instantly fell in love. It works so well with my hair type. Plus it leaves a soft lavender scent in it that friends compliment me on every time they hug me.

I actually have a couple of these in my bathroom right now. I just discovered micellar water, and it changed my life.

I swear by micellar water! It is the best for taking off makeup and cleansing the skin.

That dry spray is a life saver, especially with this humidity. Nothing beats classic vaseline either!

I need to get my hands on that argan oil! My hair has been a frizzy mess lately. Have got to give that a try.

I haven’t tried any of those, but I would like to give them a try. Especially the Dove dry shampoo, it sounds great! I love a good dry shampoo.

I’ve never tried Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant. I think that would be a great product to have on hand for humid days!

I recently tried the Beauty & Planet Shampoo and normal conditioner and really loved it. Like you, I have really thick hair that tends to frizz up in this humidity we’ve experienced (and continue to experience) this summer. I’ll check out the leave-in conditioner on my next shopping trip. Thanks for sharing!

Vaseline Lip Therapy is such a great idea for these cold days. I need to try it, too! I need to try Dove Exfoliating Body Polish, too!
