Today I have Top Shelf Lacquer on the blog with their upcoming Margarita Time collection. This is my first time working directly with Top Shelf Lacquer, but they have been on the blog once before. Top Shelf Lacquer was in the Summer’s Last Hurrah Box that I posted back in mid August, and I loved her polish that was featured there!
The Margarita Time Collection consists of 7 holographic shades with Margarita names. Let’s jump right in.
When I first got Blackberry Margarita, I thought it was a black holographic from just the bottle, but once I put it on I realized it’s actually a gorgeous blackened navy jelly linear holographic. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Lavender Margarita is a rich medium lavender creme linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Moonlight Margarita is my favorite of the 7. This is a blurple creme linear holographic. There is a very slight dusty quality to this shade. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Pink Lady Margarita
Pink Lady Margarita is a medium bubblegum pink creme linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Pomegranate Margarita is a vibrant berry pink jelly linear holographic. Of the entire collection, this shade had the strongest linear holographic. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Prickly Pear Margarita
Prickly Pear Margarita is a dark pink creme linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Purple Rita is a red toned violet creme linear holographic. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.
Top Shelf Lacquer Margarita Time Overview
What a beautiful collection and it’s full of colors I adore! Purples, blues and pinks. Most of these are creme based holographics, but both Blackberry Margarita and Pomegranate Margarita are jelly based holographics and the linear holographic effect is much stronger in those 2, but also need 3 coats instead of only 2. All creme based ones required 2 coats.
Application was flawless on all 7 shades and I was able to reach full opacity in 2-3 coats for all 7 shades.
Below is pricing, but I wanted to point out that “mini size” is considered Polish Shots in Top Shelf Lacquers shop and are the size in my photos. It’s an 8ml bottle and actually has a really nice brush for easy application.
