I am the Social Media Manager for Polish Pickup. While this post isn’t sponsored, I am affiliated with the shop as a paid employee

I’ve been fairly sluggish this month due to personal things, but I’m back on the upswing and ready to keep going. My step father had surgery a couple weeks ago and it was rough. He’s doing much better now and I’m relaxing a bit more. Due to Covid – I haven’t seen him since March (even though they lived 1 mile from us when we were in California) and because of the ongoing pandemic – I couldn’t fly home to see him. I’ve always been incredibly close with my mom and Mike (step dad) so this was hard on me. He and my mom have been together since I was a toddler – and they actually met cause he saved me from drowning.

So I apologize for being a little later than normal this month, I needed a few days off for mental health but things are much better and I’m back in a groove.

Today we’ll be looking at my review of several of the items featured in the Polish Pickup November 2020 Red Carpet shop!

I do have more items on the way. Fedex delivered Vanessa Molina’s package to the wrong address and they’ve already let me know that and are trying to retrieve it. A few others are still in limbo as the USPS system works through its load. As things arrive – I’ll be popping them in. I know for sure I have 3 more items on the way – just not sure if more surprises are coming or not.

This month had a lot more green than I’m used to seeing in a Polish Pickup shop. Are the tides shifting? Well, no – there’s still a good amount of purple too. It’s just not dominating this month.

For all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off BaseSweet & Sour Lacquer Gloss Sauce (this top coat is gifted to me by the maker) as top coat (except for the photos showing Anchor & Heart Lacquer and Vibrant Vinyls), and Anchor & Heart Lacquer Matte Top Coat unless otherwise specified.

I do use artificial lighting for my photos. I get the most done at night, so I swatch a lot at night. My current setup uses GlamCor Pro LIghts and I use the Ultra X Model and this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp.

This is an EXTREMELY photo heavy post. If there is something specific you are looking for – on desktop hit CTRL + F and type what you are searching for. Otherwise, enjoy the long scroll down the page, and of course the giveaway at the end.

The November shop will be live from November 6th – November 9th. Wishlisting is today and may be live before this post is finished.

77 Nail Lacquer | Dakota

Inspiration:Dakota is inspired by a “holo-descent” dress worn by Dakota Fanning on the red carpet.

Description: Dakota is a sheer, light periwinkle leaning blue jelly base with blue to purple to red shifting shimmer, a mix of red, crimson, lavender and aqua micro glitters, and rainbow iridescent micro bar glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I don’t have a strong VNL, but you can still see mine after 3 coats. I just wanted to mention that for those with a stronger NVL.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: 350 US / 25 UK

Alchemy Lacquers | Plum Perfect

Inspiration:Inspired by Zendaya on the purple carpet at the 2019 Emmy’s

Description: Plum Perfect is a plum jelly base with shimmer that shifts through gold, lime, green, turquoise, and blue with a multichrome like finish. Some brushstrokes are visible due to the shimmer content. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $11.50 | Cap: 150 US / 10 UK

All Mixed Up Lacquers | In the Lime Light

Inspiration: Inspired by LED lights in Katy Perry’s dress

Description: In The Lime Light is a bright lime green crelly base with a colorful variety of different holographic flakes and a light sprinkling of shifty fairy dust. I used 3 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Due to the flake content, there may be some texture in application. 2 coats of top coat should smooth it all just fine though.

Price: $12.50 | Cap: 110 US /10 UK

Brush Oil Pen Duo | Alter Ego Body Care Products

Inspiration:Overall inspired by the red carpet theme, the names and scents reflect the premiere’s stars and the movies they are representing.

Description: Brush Oil Pen Duo has 2 scent choices:

Dressed for Success is a white carnation, sandalwood, blood orange, smokey wood, black rose and patchouli with toasted vanilla, amber, vetiver and Egyptian musk. I’m not huge on patchouli or musk – so this one isn’t really for me, but if you like those – then you’ll enjoy it.

At The Movies is a hot buttered popcorn scent. It messes with me since I love popcorn and my hands smell like it, but there is none in my belly.

This duo is much thinner consistency than I’m used to. It does soak in easier, but be prepared to apply in small doses as it is runnier than what you’re probably used to.

Price: $6.50 | Cap: 125 US / 25 UK

Alter Ego Body Care Products | Pewter Perfect

Inspiration: Inspired by a model’s red carpet dress at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival

Description: Pewter Perfect is a gunmetal grey crelly base with pewter grey micro flecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $9.50 | Cap: None

QDTC by Anchor & Heart Lacquer | Ferry Fast

Inspiration: Inspired by enjoying a fresh, decadent cranberry-orange muffin whilst recovering from a champagne hangover the morning after the Awards!

Description: Ferry Fast is a 5 free glossy top coat that is scented. I find that it dries a touch slower than 4 free quick dry top coats, but not enough to bother me. It does have a nice, glassy finish. For nail art – it does need to be “floated” over the design as to not smear – like with many top coats.

Here Goes Muffin is the scent this month, and it is a cranberry and orange/lemon citrus with coconut milk, warm melted butter and vanilla drizzle. The citrus notes are the strongest for me and I didn’t immediately think “muffin” when I first smelled it. I can detect a bakery like scent – but the notes are really subtle. Once it dries down, the orange portion of citrus jumps out more.

For the stamping I used this months EDK plate (shown down a little ways) along with Anchor & Heart Mermaid Tears as the base and Maniology Turquoise as the stamping polish.

Price: $6.50 | Cap: None

Anchor & Heart Lacquer | So Much Sexy Face

Inspiration: Has there ever been a more fabulous, hilarious, talented group of individuals on the red carpet than the Fab Five from Netflix’s Queer Eye?! Each unique yet together they make the perfect team!

Description: So Much Sexy Face is a deep blue jelly base loaded with magenta to copper to gold multichrome pigment, as well as a scattering of baby blue iridescent micro glitters that seem to twinkle against the deep base. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $12.50 | Cap: None

Apipila | Glamour

Inspiration: Inspired by Dress of Sabrina Sato

Description: Glamour is a red leaning magenta pink jelly base filled with colorful iridescent flakes and subtle gold shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $12.99 | Cap: 200 US / 20 UK

Stamping Plate by Apipila | Red Carpet Plate

Inspiration: Inspired by cinema, photos, fame…the theme

Description: Red Carpet Plate is a 10 x 15 cm stainless steel plate featuring a variety of red carpet themed images. A few designs would also be perfect for New Years manis too!

I had no issues with stamping, and the etching was well done on this plate. For the mani I used a black creme base and Maniology Cozy as the stamping polish

Price: $14.99 | Cap: 400 US / 100 UK

Atomic Polish | Spectroscopy

Inspiration:Inspired by Fiona Xie’s colorful dress from the 2019 SAG Awards

Description: Spectroscopy is a purple jelly base multichrome that shifts purple, pink and orange. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Maker Side Note: Spectroscopy is the study of the wavelengths (color) matter produces/absorbs. And this polish is FULL of color. Boom. Science.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: None

AURORA 5-Free Nail Lacquer | DNA Sequins

Inspiration: Inspired by all the glorious sequins that adorn red carpet dresses and how they sparkle under those photo flashes!

Description: DNA Sequins is a black jelly base with a rainbow of sparkling micro glitters. The look of this one in person is insane and it’s beautifully done. I’d love more in this finish with a variety of colors. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This will dry with a light texture, 2 coats of top coat may be needed for a smooth finish.

Price: $12.00 | Cap: 100 US / 10 UK

Baby Girl Lacquer | Issa Dress

Inspiration: Inspired by Issa Rae’s “Black Panther Premiere” Purple Carpet Dress.

Description: Issa Dress is a white matte crelly base with a lime green flash, as well as copper to gold to green ultra chrome chameleon flecks mixed in. I show it below without top coat, but the final 2 coats show top coat. I used 3 thin coats.

Price: $11.50 | Cap: 100 US / 10 UK

Baroness X | Starlet (Magnetic)

Inspiration: Inspired by Izabel Goulart’s custom Etro dress from 2019 Cannes Film Festival, I’m totally in love with this fabric and the cut of the dress.

Description: Starlet is a purple leaning berry scattered holographic base with pinkish silver magnetic pigment and gold microflecks. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Usually I show 2 fingers unmagnetized and 2 magnetized in these photos and this month I was in a fog and it slipped my mind, so I apologize for that.

Price: $12.75 | Cap: None

Acetone Antidote by Baroness X | Walk the Rainbow

Inspiration: Inspired by all the beautiful couture walking the red carpet AND that time that Lily Singh walked the red carpet at the Grammy’s with a clear clutch full of colorful Skittles.

Description: Walk The Rainbow is the November scent, and it’s similar to Skittles – but a little heavier on the citrus notes. Like you got a handful of skittles and it was primarily the lime ones. That’s what the scent reminds me of.

This month’s AA arrives in a cobalt blue glass bottle or a clear bottle with a random colored liquid or pink, orange, yellow or green.

Acetone Antidote is an additive for your acetone to protect your skin from the harshness of acetone. It contains glycerin and jojoba oil to help protect and moisturize your nails, skin, and cuticles during polish removal. Plus, no more ashy, dry skin.

Shake the vial and add the full bottle (.5oz) to 6-8oz of acetone. You can add the vial to more or less (down to 4oz of acetone, no less due to IFRA regulations). These are just suggestions for optimal scent and protection from acetone, the ratio can vary due to personal preference.

I use a full vial in a 10 oz container of Zoya Remove+. If you use Remove+ and wish to do the same, but don’t swatch as often as I do – I would recommend shaking the vial to mix it up – then add only half of the vial to the Remove+ and test it. You can then add more as needed.

Price: $4.35 | Cap: None

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | *GASP

Inspiration: Inspired by the meme of King Joffrey and the Purple Wedding

Description: *Gasp is a medium smokey plum purple creme base loaded with strong gold shimmer. Brushstrokes are visible due to the shimmer content. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $12.50 | Cap: None

Beyond the Nail | Going Gaga

Inspiration: Inspired by Lady Gaga on the red carpet at the 2010 Grammy Awards

Description: Going Gaga is a light-medium lilac purple pearl base with violet shimmer, holographic microglitter and buttercup yellow matte hex glitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $11.00 | Cap: 125 US / 25 UK

Cuticle Oil by Black Dahlia Lacquer | Balsam Fir

Inspiration: Inspired by the scent of fir trees.

Description: This is a lighter cuticle oil that soaks in nice and quick, and this month’s scent is Balsam Fir. Smells exactly like a fresh cut Christmas tree! The scent is lighter so it doesn’t overwhelm – but still detectable. It does smell like a Christmas Tree but my nose also picks up a slight peppery note too.

This is made with therapeutic grade essential oil.

Price: $6.25 | Cap: None

Black Dahlia Lacquer | Agamemnon & Clytemnestra

Inspiration: We were inspired by the play ‘Agamemnon’, which is the earliest known usage of a red carpet. Clytemnestra was Agamemnon’s wife.

Description: This is a polish duo from Black Dahlia this month. Each polish will be 8oz sized bottles (which is shown in my photos) so they are not full sized.

Agamemnon is a dark smokey teal blue creme stamping polish. It also acts as a nice creme polish. I didn’t experience any staining – but due to it being a nicely pigmented blue shade – it might be possible, so be sure to use a good base coat.

Clytemnestra is a golden champagne jelly base with pink iridescent flash, as well as blue to purple to fuchsia to gold shifting flakes and iridescent flakes.

For these photos, I show Agamemnon alone, stamped over Clytemnestra, Clytemnestra alone and layered over Agamemnon. They make a beautiful duo.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: None

By Dany Vianna | Satisfied

Inspiration: Inspired by Renee Elise Goldsberry dreess for the 70th Tony Awards

Description: Satisfied is a slightly pastel like buttercup yellow crelly base with deep grey micro flecks and black glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $11.50 | Cap: 420 US / 30 UK

Cadillacquer | Smile (Thermal)

Inspiration: Inspired by Katy Perry on the red carpet at the 2013 Grammy Awards

Description: Smile is a dark hunter green (cold) to sage green (warm) crelly based thermal, with gold ultra chrome chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $13.50 | Cap: None

Cameo Colours Lacquers | Purple Reign

Inspiration:Inspired by the purple gown Lupita Nyong’o wore to the Black Panther premiere.

Description: Purple Reign is a regal purple jelly, full of holo sparkle, indigo/purple/red shifting shimmer, gold flecks, gold metallic micro flakes and silver holo micro flakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $11.50 | Cap: 95 US / 5 UK

Crystal Knockout | Gala Gaga (Thermal)

Inspiration: Inspired by  Lady Gaga at the 2019 Met Gala

Description: Gala Gaga is a magenta (cold) to baby pink (warm) crelly based thermal with black micro glitter in two sizes, as well as shimmering gold flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $11.00 | Cap: None

Cupcake Polish | She’s A Lady

Inspiration: Inspired by the iconic periwinkle dress Lady Gaga wore to the Golden Globes for her A Star Is Born win for best original song.

Description: She’s A Lady is a periwinkle blue crelly base filled with iridescent aurora shimmer that shifts from gold to red to green. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade is leaning into the sheerer side but does build up nicely. However – if you have a strong NVL – it might show depending on application.

Cupcake also has a VNL Blur base coat which I did NOT use for these photos. I wanted to show these without any addition or alteration from out of the bottle.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: None

VNL Blur Base Coat | Cupcake Polish

Inspiration: Inspired by the undergarments that make any red carpet dress look it’s best!

Description: VNL Blur Base Coat is a thin, but fairly opaque nude colored base layer (can be used with or without a traditional base coat) that helps you use less of your favorite polishes. VNL Blur helps blur the line between the free edge and the nail bed for a smooth transition underneath sheer and jelly polishes. You only need 1 coat, which is what I’m showing in photos below.

Full disclosure – I don’t have a strong VNL so showing this off was harder for me. I did use it with this month’s Cupcake Polish shade as well as a jelly polish and you can see the jelly appears more even and I did it in less coats.

Since I don’t have a strong VNL I haven’t really used a base like this before. In the second photo down – I used a deep blue jelly and on the ring finger, I did VNL Blur and 2 coats of the polish, where as the pinky I did no NVL Blue with 3 coats of the jelly. The even tone in less coats of the jelly is obvious. However – under the Cupcake Polish shimmer it made very little difference and that’s only because my VNL isn’t strong to begin with.

For me personally – I would use this under jellies. I do like the even tone it gave.

Price: $8.50 | Cap: None

Cuticula | Look What You Made Me Do

Inspiration: Inspired by Taylor Swift

Description: Look What You Made Me Do is a soft lilac crelly base with a rainbow of different shifting iridescent flakes, shifting ultra chrome flakes and small silver platinum flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Depending on application style and coat thickness, you may get some texture – so it’s possible to need 2 coats of top coat to smooth. I did thin coats which minimized the flake and glitter build up that sometimes can happen, so I only needed 1 coat of top coat for a smooth finish.

Price: $12.50 | Cap: None

Matte Top Coat by Cuticula | Sugar Coated Scented Cloud Cover

Inspiration: Inspired by Taylor Swift

Description: Sugar Coated Sweet Jelly Beans with fruity top notes including strawberry, raspberry, apple and sugared lemon with delicious sweet candy bottom notes.

I pick up the raspberry and sugared lemon notes the most. This is a very sweet scent, but not cloyingly sweet.

Cloud Cover is a matte top coat that gives a nice chalk board finish to any mani. It’s 5-Free, fairly fast drying for a matte but still gives you time for full coverage before it starts to dry up – so no dragging occurs.

I used 1 coat of Cloud Cover over Look What You Made Me Do for these photos.

Price: $9.00 | Cap: None

Dam Nail Polish | Jungle Dress

Inspiration: Inspired by Jennifer Lopez’s Versace iconic green silk chiffon dress that she wore to the Grammy Awards in 2000.

Description: Jungle Dress is a neon green holographic polish packed with green, blue, and gold glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Dam Nail Polish joins the PPU family this month – and if this is a taste of what’s to come – I’m super excited this brand is here!

Price: $12.50 | Cap: 95 US / 5 UK

Dark Moon Esscentuals | Gawgeous Dahling! Facial Sugar Scrub

Inspiration: Inspired by Toulouse from Aristocats. He’s sassy yet sensitive!

Description: Gawgeous Dahling! Facial Sugar Scrub is a gentle, dirt lifting facial sugar scrub that contains Red Moroccan Clay, as well as Activated Charcoal. Red Moroccan Clay is known to even out skin tone, reduce blotchiness and help with skin elasticity. Activated Charcoal helps get deep into pores to draw out blackheads and gunk that settled in.

It has a light floral scent to it that is fairly pleasant and not super overpowering – but it’s not subtle either. I wanted to make note of that for those that are super sensitive to floral.

To use, take a dime sized amount and massage into damp skin. Let sit for 10 or so minutes, then rinse off.

It left my skin super soft and it didn’t give that tight, itchy feel at all.

I forgot to take a pic of it on, so I will when I use it again tomorrow night and add the photo.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: 60 US / 10 UK

Cuticle Oil Duo | Different Dimension

Inspiration: Inspired by Red Carpets

Description: Cuticle oil duo in VIP and Black Ties & Ball Gowns in an IPU exclusive label and fragrances.

VIP – This deep, earthy scent is an amazing blend of sandalwood and plumeria with intertwining hints of geranium, roses, vanilla, and jasmine

Black Ties & Ball Gowns – sparkly floral blend. Sweet orange, lush fern, jasmine, lilac and rose on a warm, woodsy base of amber and musk.

Black Ties & Ball Gowns is my favorite of the two.

Both come in twisty click pens with brush applicators. The cuticle oil is a nice consistency so it applies in a nice layer and can sit and soak or be massaged in for faster absorption.

Price: $7.00 | Cap: None

Different Dimension | Light Of Love

Inspiration: Inspired by iridescent Gucci gown worn by Florence Welch (of Florence & The Machine) to the 2016 Met Gala

Description: Light of Love is a pink leaning lavender holographic jelly polish with added green color shifting aurora shimmers and holographic micro flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade looks textured due to the holo flecks, but it’s actually smooth to the touch and has a lot of depth to it.
Price: $12.00 | Cap: None

Dollish Polish | No Wire Hangers EVER!

Inspiration: Inspired by Joan Crawford

Description: No Wire Hangers EVER! is a cranberry red linear holographic with ruby holo micro glitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. There is a tiny bit of texture from the microglitters, so it’s possible you might need a second coat of top coat for a smooth finish.

This is a beautiful ‘glow from within’ red and I have it on my toes right now.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: None

Dreamland Lacquer | Fail Gloriously

Inspiration: Inspired by the beautiful shifty Antonio Monda dress worn by the iconic Cate Blanchett at the Rome Film Festival premier of The House With A Clock In Its Walls

Description: Fail Gloriously is a smokey grey jelly base loaded with strong mauve to rose gold to bronze to gold to green pigment. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

DRK Nails | Luminous

Description: Black jelly base mixed with white microflake magnetic + iridescent red/pink/green + aurora red/pink/green. A black version of Messier. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Erin Casey Crafts | “J.Law” Dangle Earrings

Inspiration: Inspired by Jennifer Lawrence’s “The Hunger Games” Red Carpet Premiere Looks

Description: Erin Casey Crafts brings us beautiful dangle earrings in gold with gold and black beads dangling. There is also a paper bead made from a real up-cycled book page from The Hunger Games.

These are beautiful and light weight. They are metal alloy ear wires.

I got these in the mail last night, and I’ll be honest – I haven’t showered yet and am not feelin cute right now – so tomorrow when I get dolled up for work, I’ll take a photo and add it in when I get home. These are super cute though and I like the “book page bead”

Price: $14.00 | Cap: 25 US / 5 UK

Esmaltes da Kelly | Fall Colors

Inspiration: Inspired by dress Kristen Bell 2016 Emmy Awards

Description: Fall Colors is a linear holographic multichrome that shifts through pale brown, orange, green and gold, with aurora pigment and flakes that shift orange to gold to green, as well as ultrachrome chameleon flakes in red to copper. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $12.50 | Cap: 500 US / 20 UK

Stamping Plate by Esmaltes da Kelly | Mosaic

Inspiration: Stained Glass

Description: This plate makes me wish I did leadlighting or reverse stamping. It is so beautifully done and perfect for that.

I am not that talented though – so we get my plain mani using this plate.

The plate is 10 x 15 cm, well etched and images picked up beautifully. For this mani I used Anchor & Heart Lacquer Mermaid Tears and Maniology Turquoise as the stamping polish.

Price: $14.50 | Cap: 280 US / 20 UK

Ethereal | Heavenly

Inspiration: Inspired by Hailey Baldwins 2018 Met Gala look for the heavenly bodies theme.

Description: Heavenly is a soft and flowy grey base with minty undertones and a strong pink to orange shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

If you have a strong VNL – it will most likely be visible still.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: None

Fair Maiden Polish | Wildest Dreams

Inspiration: Inspired by a dress worn by Taylor Swift to the 2015 Grammy Awards!

Description: Wildest Dreams is a a medium-dark teal based multichrome that shifts from emerald green to magenta. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I adore this one matte.

Also – I didn’t get a bottle shot for some reason, so we’re gonna just ignore that and pretend it’s there. The Maidens won’t notice so it’s fine.

Price: $11.00 | Cap: None

Fancy Gloss | Miss Classy (Thermal)

Inspiration: Inspired by Dua lipa’s black and pink dress

Description: Miss Classy is a deep blackened plum (cold) to magenta pink (warm) thermal loaded with pink to purple to copper to gold flakes and coper to red to green shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Due to the flake content, this polish is a bit of the thick side. You CAN safely thin it a bit with nail polish thinner or just be mindful that it’s thicker when applying.

Price: $12.50 | Cap: 500 US / 30 UK

Gato Arteiro | “The Clutch” for Nail Polish Lovers

Inspiration: Inspired by Red Carpet clutches

Not only can you fit your phone, lipstick, credit cards and keys (a girl’s essentials!) but also shine on every red carpet!! Hand made with premium cotton fabric this clutch is the perfect accessory for every occasion.

This is a super cute clutch that’s not super bulky and it’s lightweight. The closure is magnetic so it snaps into place quickly and easily.

Price: $15.50 | Cap: 80 US / 15 UK

Girly Bits | Queen of the Dark

Inspiration:Inspired by the amazing dress worn flawlessly by Nyakim Gatwech, at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2018.

Description: Queen of the Dark is a super shifty ultra-chrome flake beauty, densely packed with fuchsia to chartreuse flakes that also flash with hints of lime and blue at extreme angles. It’s finished off with a red to gold shifting shimmer and just a hint of tiny holo flakes. I did 3 thin coats and 2 coats of glossy top coat for these photos.

This does dry with a texture, which is why I used 2 coats of top coat. Also to note, the first layer looks like a topper, but the second layer adds nicer coverage. The third is the ticket.

Price: 13.00 | Cap: 230 US / 20 UK

Cuticle Remover Pen & Cuticle Oil Pen Duo by Glisten & Glow

Inspiration:

Description: I literally just ran out of my last set, so I was insanely happy another one came up in PPU. This time, the Cuticle Remover and Cuticle Oil Pen Duo is in the scent Cranberry Pear!

Cranberry Pear is a blend of sparkling cranberry, sweet pear nectar and black currant. The cranberry is the key player for me and I smell that about all else, so it’s slightly sweet and a touch tart.

Glisten & Glow’s Cuticle Remover softens and removes excess cuticle as well as eponychium skin and comes in an easy to use twist-up pen style applicator.

Directions for Cuticle Remover: Apply generously to the cuticle area and let sit for 60 seconds. Next, gently push back with your favorite tool, I personally love my Germanikure Crystal Cuticle Pusher (that’s an affiliate link) Finally, wash hands and cuticles thoroughly with soap and water.

Follow up with the cuticle oil pen, and your cuticles will be in tip top shape

Price: $12.00 | Cap: None

Description: Pink In The City is a bright fuchsia pink jelly base with iridescent flakes that shift aqua to dark blue to purple. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This has a mild texture – so you might need 2 coats of top coat for a smooth finish.

WiTS by Heather’s Hues | Lavender Lace

Inspiration:Inspired by the lavender lace gown that Mila Kunis rocked at the 2011 Oscars

Description: WiTs body lotion is a fast absorbing body lotion that doesn’t leave my hands greasy. The texture is light and creamy and a little goes a long way.

The November scent is a blend of lavender and fresh, clean cotton. This is such a relaxing scent combo and I’m loving it. I keep sniffing my hands. The lavender is stronger than the cotton scent – so you do really have to love lavender for this.

This polish is SHEER – so it would work well as a topper, or alone, but if you aren’t into sheer – as a topper it’s beautiful as well.

It will dry with texture – I recommend 2 coats of top coat.

Price: $12.00 | Cap: 200 US / 20 UK

Hand & Body Sugar Scrub by KBShimmer | Sparkling Champagne

Inspiration: Inspired by Champagne

Description: I did not realize how much I loved champagne type scents until this month.

Sparkling Champagne is light, sweet, and effervescent. There’s a light apricot scent to it that I can detect, but there are also subtle notes of flowers and pink berries. I don’t really smell the berries – but I do get the VERY subtle floral undertones. It’s very light and delicate.

KBShimmer’s sugar scrubs are good for all over the body or as a hand scrub, the sugar particles are medium grit so they do a good job getting dry spots on your body situated.

Price: $10.00 | Cap: None

Leesha’s Lacquer | Smooth Like Velvet (Matte)

Inspiration: Inspired by Billy Porter’s iconic black velvet suit dress

Description: Smooth Like Velvet is a matte black jelly like base with silver and black mini flakes and shimmer, as well as mini silver holographic bars. I used 3 thin coats and no top coat for these photos. The final 2 show it glossy.

I’m not a big fan of bar glitters – but the addition of mini holo bar glitters in this polish COMPLETES it. It’s perfectly done and the perfect touch.

While it is matte – it doesn’t start to mattify for a good minut or so, so I wasn’t rushing to apply before it would drag on me. I was able to lay down a smooth layer and get complete coverage on the nail before it started to matte up, so I got a nice, smooth finish on each nail.

Price: $12.00 | Cap: 250 US / 10 UK

Description: Hot Glam! is a scoopable wax with mini glam items within. The scoopable wax is formed of little wax beads, while there are shaped waxes mixed in too. Each wax tub comes with a little shovel to dig out wax to melt.

Hot Glam! smells primarily of berries – raspberries and strawberries I would guess – with a slight tangerine tartness and champagne. It’s light and sweet but berries is absolutely the strongest scent for me.

Matterhorn | Infinity

Inspiration: Inspired by Infinity gauntlet jewelry worn on the red carpet.

Description: This month Matterhorn brings Infinity for their oil. Infinity is a softer scent with sandalwood, cashmere and plum and black cherry. The cashmere is the strongest note for me and what I immediately detect, the black cherry is the underlying note I also noticed. This is a nice, warm scent.

Each bottle comes with real gold leaf flake and one precious brilliant cut gem stone. Possible stones; sapphire, garnet, ruby, peridot, aquamarine, tourmaline, amethyst, diamond, onyx and emerald. Sones are 1mm-3mm in size.  I got either a sapphire or onyx.

Now I know Matterhorn Oil says beard and hair care on the bottle – but this is so much more than that.

Nick uses Matterhorn Oils for his beard. Jacob and I both use it for our hair. After showering, add a few drops to your palm (I do about 8-12 drops because I have long, thick hair) and rub it in my palms, then I “scrunch” my hair in my hands and distribute throughout. Jacob does the same, but since his hair is considerable shorter – he only uses about 4-6 drops. It adds a nice scent to your hair and softens it up.

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL! You can also use this oil on your cuticles or rough skin areas. Elbows, knees, heels – or just apply it on your skin to moisturize a bit. I also use it on my legs after shaving cause it makes em look nice. Not too much though. A little goes a long way.

Price: $12.00 | Cap: None

Michelle Mildred Art | Iconic Red Carpet Looks Sticker Duo

Inspiration: Inspired by the Billy Porter & Bjork

Description: These are the two iconic looks that were worn on the red carpet that are impossible to forget – made into stickers.

The Billy Porter curtain hat is amazing and Michelle knew she had to bring it to life as a sticker.

Bjork wore the swan dress in 2001 and it’s still mentioned today.

Both stickers are on thick demi-matte sticker paper and can be converted to magnets if you wish. You just need a magnet roll and steady scissor cutting hands (which I do not have)

These are super cute and really well made. The quality of the sticker is incredibly well done.

Wax Sampler by Pretty Beautiful Unlimited | And the Nominees Are

Inspiration: The food and drinks and florals you might find at one of the Red Carpet events.

Description: 15 scent sampler inspired by the food and drinks and florals you might find at one of the Red Carpet events.

This is an incredible samplers with some delicious smelling wax melts. So far my favorites have been:

Key Lime Pie – Tangy lime is blended with sweet orange and fresh lemon to create the citrus signature of this scent. Green tones help fortify the citrus accord as it leads to a base of sweet baked meringue.

Pink Raspberry Cosmo – Top notes of pink raspberry, Florida orange, and green lime juice, followed by middle notes of juniper berries, lemon zests, and a Triple Sec accord; sitting on intoxicating notes of violet leaves, a Vodka accord, and a dash of sugar.

Vanilla Pineapple Margarita – A creamy pineapple margarita with a touch of vanilla makes this tasty delight to die for while relaxing pool side with a fresh piece of pineapple to garnish.

You can check out the listing for all 15 though – it’s a great lineup!

Also – there will be a random charm – the one I got is shown below!

It can be used daily and works on all skin types.

This is a foot scrub, but I don’t like feet – so I will not be showing it on my feet. You’re welcome. I have ugly troll feet anyway.

Unicorn Magic Skincare | Deluxe Coconut Milk Hand Creme scented in Old Hollywood

Inspiration: Inspired by Hollywood in the bygone era; as our store is based in Tinseltown you know we just had to be inspired by Hollywood!

Description: I cannot get enough of Unicorn Magic Skincare hand products.

It kills me a little to say that this particular scent wasn’t for me. Old Hollywood is a unisex scent with floral top notes balanced with patchouli, amber and musky vanilla, finishing with warm woodsy undertones. It’s a little too musky for my preference. However – I keep using it despite not being a fan of the scent because the formula is that good. When I get paid next, I plan on shopping for a couple of these in other scents.

But if you can get me to use your product in a scent I’m not fond of – it’s a good product.

If you like musky scents though – you will adore this.

Price: $6.50 | Cap: 300 US / 30 UK

This smells so good. I’m telling you – these champagne scents this month have me in love!

This one will absolutely tickle your nose. I mainly get the citrus and touch of pear and it has the refreshing “bubbles” like scent (like when you open a soda and smell it… that tingly type sensation that’s harder to describe)

Double Bond is a ridge filling base coat and sticky base coat in 1. Best of both worlds.

Price: $8.00 | Cap: None

Description: Belle of the Ball is a cobalt blue base with a dash of blurple shimmer crystal chameleon flakes, green micro flakies, and a tiny bit of holo micro flakies. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: 150 US / 10 UK

Whatcha | Blake Lively’s Dress

Inspiration:Inspired by Blake Lively’s Dress

Description: Blake Lively’s Dress is a golden holographic glitter base with bigger blue and turquoise glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This dries down with texture, 2 coats of top coat will smooth it out.

Price: $13.00 | Cap 220 US / 10 UK

Top Coat by Whatcha | Top Glitter

Inspiration:

Description: This is a glitter smoother! After applying a glitter or chunky polish, apply a coat of this to level the polish out, and then top coat with the top coat of your choice. It gives a smooth appearance for those who aren’t loving texture.

Price: $10.00 | Cap: 120 US / 10 UK

Polish Pickup November 2020 | Red Carpet

I was happily surprised to see that so many greens are here this month – and they are so well done. There’s a lot of different varieties that differ from the typical blue/purple domination. However – there’s still enough blue and purple to not feel like it was left out completely.

Scent wise, this was my favorite month. So many refreshing ones and just slightly different from the normal.

I do have more items coming – I would guess around 5 more? So I’ll update with those as they arrive.

As the days barrel forward for the sale to open, my wishlist is in constant flux. I have added some items and taken some away and sometimes reacted items as other things that I wanted to do for the month of been canceled so I can add more money into the PPU pile. Wishlist Wednesday is the hardest for me because I try to get my list exact, and sometimes FOMO gets the best of me. I am going through my stash to get an accurate reading of what colors I need, and which ones I will have to skip.
