Happy Saturday (okay it probably will be Sunday or Monday when this is published, but I have had this post done since Saturday)! It’s time for another Polish Pickup post, and for May 2023 the theme is Junk Food!
This month I have 50 items in hand, but I am still waiting on one to arrive. One it does I will pop it into the post. Some are paid pr and some are non paid, so I will mark paid ones to differentiate.

For the fine details – for all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off Base, and for the glossy photos I did use a combination of the top coats including Sweet & Sour Lacquer and Cuticula Limitless Quick Dry Top Coat (I purchased Sweet & Sour Lacquer, Cuticula was sent as a gift this month.) For all textured polishes, I did use Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber (previous PR)
Earlier this month I was having abdominal pain and found out I had a stomach ulcer (chronic pain and NSAID usage led to it) so to make up time from falling behind, I did skip matte photos this month. I am feeling better – so I will back at them next month.
For my lighting set up I use artificial lighting due to my day job, my set up involves 2 Neatfi XL Lamps from Amazon (affiliate link) as well as this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).
For my nails – they are Apres Gel X nails throughout this post, and the style is Extra Short Stiletto.

ACETONE ANTIDOTE BY BARONESS X | LIME IN DA COCONUT
Inspiration: Inspired by Key Lime flavored Coconut Patties, commonly found in the southeast.
Description: Acetone Antidote is an additive for your acetone to protect your skin from the harshness of acetone. It contains glycerin and jojoba oil to help protect and moisturize your nails, skin, and cuticles during polish removal. Plus, no more ashy, dry skin! Simply shake up the vial and pour into your polish remover. I generally pour a full vial into a 10 oz pump bottle, but I recommend shaking it and pouring half in and adding more if you feel you need more.
May’s scent is Lime in Da Coconut is a fusion of lime and coconut, cool & refreshing, not too sweet and not too tart.
The scent is a wonderful fusion of lime and coconut and the lime scent seems to be the dominant one, but its just sweet enough to balance the tartness – most likely from the coconut mellowing it out.

RESTORATION DROPS BY KBSHIMMER | NAIL POLISH THINNER (PREVIOUSLY PAID PR)
Inspiration: Inspired by Thick Polish
Description: Restoration Drops is just one of those things that polish lovers should have on standby. Polishes can have evaporation, making them thicker over time, or some ingredients just naturally make the polish thicker. Restoration Drops help thin out polish and bring the polishes either back to life (if evaporated) or bring it to a consistency you prefer.
I use these the most with top coats! Ever notice they get thicker and stringy around the halfway point? Add some thinner to get it back to what you prefer.
Whenever you use drops like this, start off with a few drops (5 or so) and mix, then see where the consistency is. Add more as necessary. This way you don’t overdo it. When I use it in top coats, I typically use 18-20 drops, but I also know my preference and have been doing it with this exact polish thinner (not this bottle, but this brand) for years so I know what to add to get it where I like.
One bottle of this usually lasts me 1 to 1.5 years.

VAPID LACQUER | NAIL ELIXIR (PAID PR)
Inspiration: Inspired by Gummy Bears
Description: This Elixir is our blend of oils that come together to create a truly one of a kind nail and cuticle oil. It has weight to the oil itself, it’s enough to truly hydrate the toughest of cuticles and driest of nails while still being able to soak effortlessly into the skin. Once absorbed it’s not greasy and can be rubbed all over the hand for moisture.
This oil contains tamanu oil, a viscus oil that has a light brown sugar scent, this does come through in the scent straight from the bottle. Once it dries down, you will only smell the fragrance left behind. Vapid’s elixir is also heavy in Jojoba oil allowing it to soak into the nail on a molecular level, as jojoba oil is able to easily penetrate the nail and provide and carry other nutrients with it.

Gamer Fuel is a blend of coconut, lime, grapefruit, lemon and a bit of sparkling effervescence. If you are familiar with Baja Blast.. you know the scent well! It’s tropical and the citrus notes are the dominant ones.

I’m not usually a fan of pinks a light purples but this month has me hooked! Especially the Sweet & Sour lacquer and Emily de Molly. Gorgeous!
So many good ones this month! I usually don’t buy for inspiration alone, but the Graeter’s-inspired polish brings back fond memories (and looks lovely too).

I can’t say any of these do it for me, but what I did love were the shots using (presumably) dollhouse accessories? The lil’ Coke and candies gathered around like the aftermath of a sugar-high was truly adorable, colorful & inspired – appreciate it.

Dreamland Lacquer’s Shake Your Shamrock and Crystal Knockout are already on the wishlist. Shake Your Shamrock is so striking and unlike any green in my collection. I love the coral/peachy shift of Crystal Knockout.
Even though I’m not a huge DD fan, the Dunkie Junkie polish really tickles me! And Noodles nailed the inspo!
