Press Sample of the Polish Pickup
December 2020 | Everything Is Fine & Sponsored Giveaway

Disclosure: I am a paid employee for Polish Pickup. While this post is not sponsored, I do have a financial relationship with the hosting shop.

What. A. Month. November is almost always the absolute busiest swatching month of the year, and I feel like every swatcher deserves an award for making it through. There are generally normal releases as well as Black Friday.. and all are fairly time sensitive due to the nature of Black Friday. I had fully intended on having this post up yesterday, but I was trying to finish up Black Friday releases and things just got pushed back a bit. So finally – I’m sharing my post for the Polish Pickup December 2020 Everything Is Fine theme!

True to December form, it’s a slightly smaller shop this month. Not small small… but usually there are about 190-200 products a month, and this month I think there’s about 160-170 items. Every December is a little different and a lot of brands take time off for the holidays, or cap their product so they can ship ahead and be done for the month.

For all photos shown – I used Vapid Lacquer Commitment Issues Peel Off Base, and I was testing 3 different glossy top coats from Alchemy Lacquer for this months photos, as well as her upcoming matte top coat. I used those top coats, aside from photos with Vibrant Vinyls and Cuticula.

I do use artificial lighting for my photos. I get the most done at night, so I swatch a lot at night. My current setup uses GlamCor Pro LIghts and I use the Ultra X Model and this Daylight Company Duo Daylight Lamp (affiliate link).

This is an EXTREMELY photo heavy post. If there is something specific you are looking for – on desktop hit CTRL + F and type what you are searching for. Otherwise, enjoy the long scroll down the page, and of course the giveaway at the end.

The November shop will be live from December 4th – December 7th. Wishlisting started yesterday so it’s all set to browse the shop!

Alchemy Lacquers | Virtual Escape

Inspiration: Inspired by the PC Game No Man’s Sky

Description: Virtual Escape is an indigo jelly base with green to blue to purple to pink shifting shimmer and contrasting gold to lime-green to green to blue to turquoise shifting chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. In person, there is a stronger purple shift to the polish.

Price: $11.50 | Cap: 175 US / 10 UK

All Mixed Up Lacquers | Happy Little Dumpster Fire

Inspiration:Teal dumpster with a Christmas tree on fire in it

Description: Happy Little Dumpster Fire is a cold reactive thermal and solar shade. Most thermals need heat to transition, but this is the winter wonderland version – so it’s actually cold that transitions this one. This starts as a dusty, light teal (warm) to black (cold) thermal. But that’s not all! When introduced to UV light (sunlight works, I used a UV light for these photos) the warm transition thermal shade goes to a purple and the cold transition goes to a deep berry purple. It also has shifting crystal flakes mixed in. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos

Price: $13.50 | Cap 150 US / 10 UK

Alter Ego Body Care Products | Unscented Acetone Additive

Inspiration: Inspired by “I wanted to give those with fragrance sensitivities/allergies to have acetone additive that is unscented.”

Description: Acetone Additive is a mix of oil and glycerine to cut the harshness from pure acetone. Anyone who’s used acetone a decent amount knows that it can leave a white, ashy look to your fingers, plus it dries you out something fierce. I used pure acetone once upon a time and after 4 swatches my fingers looked chewed up so I’d apply oil and balm to counteract it.. and then I just looked like a greasy mess. This was long before Acetone Additive was a thing, and partly why I changed to using Remove+. But with my amount of swatching – even the switch wasn’t enough. While I do keep a bottle of pure acetone (mainly for stamping plates) I prefer acetone additive in my Remove+.

If you’ve wanted to try it but didn’t want it scented – this ones for you!

For Acetone Additive – shake up the little bottle you receive to mix the ingredients, then pour the desired amount into your remover. Start with 1/3-1/2 and add more as needed (everyone is different!)

Price: 5.00 | Cap: None

Anchor & Heart Lacquer | Really Good At Quarantine

Inspiration: Inspired by the side eye monkey meme that says “when you find out your daily lifestyle is actually called “quarantine”, which feels like a personal attack.

Description: Really Good At Quarantine is a grey tinged lavender crelly base with metallic bronze micro flakes, as well as a variety of smaller and micro glitters in sky blue, lavender, periwinkle, green, teal, and bronze. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade dries with a very mild texture, but you shouldn’t only need 1 coat of top coat for a smooth finish.

Price: $12.00 | Cap: None

Anchor & Heart Lacquer | Siren’s Cure Cuticle Creme

Inspiration: Inspired by In My Feelings was inspired by the way 2020 made us feel & how it forced many of us to slow down, look inward, and appreciate the little things.

Description: In My Feelings is a scent similar to Daisy by Marc Jacobs (if you are familiar with that) It has top notes of tangy lemon and jasmine, middle notes of lily, rose petals, African violet, and daylily, and an anchoring base of cedarwood, patchouli, and musk.

To my nose, it’s a light but bright floral scent. Reminds me of Spring.

Siren’s Cure Cuticle Creme is a “bouncy creme” formula. It looks like creme, but has a slight wiggle like jello. It is fast absorbing if used lightly. If you want a more intense hydration – slather this stuff on, throw on some cotton gloves and relax

Price: $8.50 | Cap: 180 US / 20 UK

AURORA 5-Free Nail Lacquer | Everything is Awesome

Inspiration: Inspired by the Song “Everything is Awesome” from The Lego Movie

Description: Everything Is Awesome is the ‘everything but the kitchen sink’ of flake polishes. It has 33 different types of flakes in a clear base. I show it below in 3 thin coats on index and pinky, and 1 coat over black. Everything lays relatively flat, so you should only need 1 coat of top coat for a smooth finish – but that highly depends on how many coats you apply or if you sponge on.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: 200 US / 20 UK

Baby Girl Lacquer | Ish Is Getting Real (Thermal)

Inspiration:

Description:  Ish Is Getting Real is a soft, almost coral red (cold) to tan/off white (warm) crelly based thermal with rainbow color-shifting flakes, gold metallic flakes and golden flakes.  I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $12.50 | Cap 100 US / 5 UK

Baroness X | Acetone Antidote

Inspiration: Inspired by simply that this year has been bananas and a dumpster fire…

Description: This month’s Acetone Antidote scent is Bananas Flambé, notes of real banana (not the candy), boozy caramel and a melty dollup of whipped cream. This is a custom blended, limited house scent.

I need more of this one. The banana scent is.. well… bananas and it’s delicious.

Acetone Antidote is an additive for your acetone to protect your skin from the harshness of acetone. It contains glycerin and jojoba oil to help protect and moisturize your nails, skin, and cuticles during polish removal. Plus, no more ashy, dry skin.

Shake the vial and add the full bottle (.5oz) to 6-8oz of acetone. You can add the vial to more or less (down to 4oz of acetone, no less due to IFRA regulations). These are just suggestions for optimal scent and protection from acetone, the ratio can vary due to personal preference.

I use a full vial in a 10 oz container of Zoya Remove+. If you use Remove+ and wish to do the same, but don’t swatch as often as I do – I would recommend shaking the vial to mix it up – then add only half of the vial to the Remove+ and test it. You can then add more as needed.

Price: $4.25 | Cap: None

Bee’s Knees Lacquer | Hide Your Hive

Inspiration: Inspired by Murder Hornets!

Description: I think the Murder Hornets part of the year was when everyone just… stopped being surprised about anything that 2020 had to bring.

Black Dahlia Lacquer | Cuticle Oil

Inspiration: Inspired by “We were inspired by the look of candy canes lining the driveway of houses decorating for the holidays. “

Description: Candy Cane Forest is a holiday cuticle oil that features peppermint with a hint of cedar and pine, and an accent of sweet birch.

This definitely has a strong peppermint smell to it, but the light woodsy hints are a really nice touch to it. They aren’t as easily detected – but definitely add a nice element.

Black Dahlia’s cuticle oils come in a 10ml glass bottle with a rollerball style applicator.

Price: $6.50 | Cap: None

Black Dahlia Lacquer | Double Kill

By Dany Vianna | PJ’s My Jam (Thermal)

Description: Please Remain Calm is a  red (cold) to pink (warm) crelly based thermal with small black glitters and color shifting iridescent flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This is a deeper pink in person, but the bright, borderline neon aspect made it harder to photograph.

Price: $13.50 | Cap: None

Inspiration: Inspired by “It’s Fine Dog Meme” sitting at the table with their coffee and flames surrounding the room.

Description: It’s Fine is a yellow tinted balm with scents of hazelnut latte and a hint of cinnamon along with a sprinkle of copper shimmer.

Hazelnut lattes are my weakness, so I absolutely adore this lip balm. The shimmer is incredibly subtle and the balm coats your lips but isn’t a glossy balm, it’s more of a satin finish for a slightly natural look while still giving hydration. It’s been my go to since the cooler months started kicking in here.

Price: $4.50 | Cap: 40 US / 5 UK

Colores de Carol | C’est la Vie (Glow In The Dark)

Inspiration:

Description: The December scent for Cuticula is Vanilla Pineapple Margarita! This is a blend of creamy pineapple margarita with a touch of sweet vanilla. This smells heavenly. Pineapple is one of my favorite fruits and I will eat it until the roof of my mouth is raw from it.

This is a sweet scent with a slight tart kick from the pineapple, with a very light hint of lime. The vanilla does a perfect job mellowing it out though.

Limitless is a 5 free quick dry top coat and you can use it with stamping and nail art if you float the top coat over the design (so the brush doesn’t really touch the nail)

Price: $9.00 | Cap: None

Dam Nail Polish | Content-mint

Inspiration: Inspired by A cute little teal dumpster fire

Description: Content-mint is a sheer mint green crelly base with gold to pink shifting shimmer. If you have a strong VNL, you will probably still see it through this polish at 3 coats. Glitter Grabber | Glisten & Glow

Inspiration:

Description: Glitter Grabber is a “filler” type topper. If you have a polish on with glitters/microglitters with texture to it, apply a layer of Glitter Grabber and it “fills in the gaps” so you can top coat and get a smooth finish.

If texture bothers you – then you need a bottle.. or if you just don’t want to have to use multiple coats of top coat.

Inspiration: Inspired by The cat in a bath meme that says “2020 sucks, I get more baths”

Description: WiTs body lotion is a fast absorbing body lotion that doesn’t leave my hands greasy. The texture is light and creamy and a little goes a long way.

The December scent is ‘I Get More Baths’ and it’s a blend of golden honey, soft musk, and bergamot with hints of toffee, apple, and sweet orange. This is a warm scent with a touch of sweetness to it. I actually really like this one and wouldn’t mind having it in a fragrance.

Inspiration:Inspired by Working At Home w/Pets

Description: KBShimmer’s sugar scrubs are good for all over the body or as a hand scrub, the sugar particles are medium grit so they do a good job getting dry spots on your body situated.

Cozy At Home is a blend of jasmine, patchouli and vanilla. The Jasmine and patchouli are the scents that jump out at me the most, and while I don’t particularly care for patchouli – the blend with jasmine and soft vanilla help make it more tolerable for me.

Scent is a preference thing, and Nick loves the scent and said he’d love if I had a perfume in this scent, but personally it’s nice but not totally for me.

Price: $10.00 | Cap: None

Lemming Lacquer | Dysphoria

Inspiration: Dysphoria is a state of unease or generalized dissatisfaction with life. Dysphoria comes from the Greek word dusphoros meaning “hard to bear.” Both ideas seemed fitting for 2020. When creating the base elements of this polish I considered Chanel’s Malice. This is my reimagining of Malice, taking the parts that I liked best. I added the holographic flakes as a reminder to cherish the bright, twinkling moments that also happened this year.

We haven’t melted any for a long period of time because I just got the sampler a couple days ago. However – those 3 were the ones we did sample, and they were incredible.

Michelle Mildren Art | Animals of 2020 Sticker Duo

Inspiration: Inspired by the Koala from the Australian Wildfires & Tiger King
EVERYTHING IS FINE and it has been since January!! Except remember the koalas in the Australian wild fires that happened in early 2020 before any lockdown took place?? Remember when we were all freshly settling into not going anywhere for a long time with our towers of TP and TIGER KING just dropped on Netflix and we were all like, IT WAS THAT b**** CAROL!? Those were my inspirations. Also, low-key I wanted to draw a Koala holding a nail polish bottle. So cute!!
I would certainly feel slimy if I profited off of koalas and the devastation of the wildfires as well as captive, depressed Tigers and didn’t give anything back so I will donate 10% of my net profits of this sticker duo to The Australian Koala Foundation.

Description: This month’s sticker duo is a tiger with a polish bottle as well as a koala hugging a polish bottle.

Both stickers are on thick demi-matte sticker paper and can be converted to magnets if you wish. You just need a magnet roll and steady scissor cutting hands (which I do not have)

The quality of the stickers is incredible and you can feel a difference.

If you search the Polish Pickup Pack FB group – you can find Michelle actually designing these.

The formula on this was actually really nice, but the brush I had was really wonky – so application was difficult – but only because of that brush. She will be using her older style brushes for customers though.

Boozy Bites – Top notes of melted butter, mimosa and hints of coconut. Middle notes of Kentucky Bourbon, sweet fluffy marshmallows and confectioners sugar. Bottom notes of crushed vanilla, soft amber and musk.
Cabernet Grape – Orange sweetens this fruity blend of grape and aged cognac. A hint of spiced wood finishes the blend.
Coconut Milk & Lavender – A beautiful and enticing blend of lavender with silky French vanilla infused with rich coconut milk and hints of musk.
Fiji Dates & Lemon Peel – Plump & sweet Fiji dates with tangy lemon zest mingle with the sweet earthy date balanced with some rich florals.

R&P Jewelry | Sterling Silver Twisted Midi Ring-Size 3

Description: This ring is a simple twisted midi ring offered in a size 3. It is made from 16 gauge sterling silver twisted wire.

Beautifully simplistic is the best way to describe it and I’ve been wearing it non stop since I got it! It is only available in a size 3 this month.

Red Eyed Lacquer | Da Balmer

Inspiration: Inspired by relaxing waterside sipping on a cocktail or mocktail.

Description: Da-Balmer is a cross between a balm and body butter. It’s creamy like a body butter but has a more emollient feel like a balm would. It’s an intensive treatment you can use anywhere (I love it on cuticles of course) but a little goes a long way. If you use too much – it will feel very oily (like a balm would) so start with a little and build up if you need more.

This month’s Da Balmer is a custom blend of tropical aromas: blood oranges, sweet pineapples, mandarin oranges, a hint of cherry, a dash of effervescence, a hint of vanilla, coconut, rum, honeydew melon, watermelon, grapefruit and tangerine.

It’s a fruity scent, but not overly sweet and the scents play well off each other. The vanilla, coconut and melon help tone down the tartness of all of the citrus, which the citrus brightens but doesn’t overpower.

Price: $5.25 | Cap: 40 US / 5 UK

Rogue Lacquer | From the Ashes We Rise

Inspiration: Inspired by “Original inspiration is the Australian fire opal. This polish is an ode to polishes last and promise that even through adversity we can persevere. “

Description: From The Ashes We Rise is a clear based flake topper (in true Rogue fashion) and it’s a blue and green holo glitter mix (primarily blue) with red to bronze to green to gold metallic flakes. I used 1 coat over a black creme for these photos.

Sassy Pants Polish | Have Toilet Paper You Will Not

Sassy Sauce Polish | Masks Mandatory, Bras Optional (Thermal)

Inspiration:

Description: Masks Mandatory, Bras Optional is an ocean blue (cold) to colorless (warm) crelly based thermal with strong red shimmer, as well as red to copper to gold ultrachrome chameleon flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $12.50 | Cap: 300 US / 30 UK

Serum No. 5 | In an Isolation-ship (Glow In The Dark)

Inspiration: In 2020, it feels like everyone is in an “isolation-ship” with themselves, so as we discover more about ourselves or improve on ourselves, this polish is a reflection of that.

Description: In An Isolation-ship is a warm caramel honey neutral based scattered holo with pink shimmer, and it glows green in the dark! Dries with a slight texture, but 1 coat of top coat should smooth. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

I used a UV flashlight to “charge” the glow for the final photo.

Price: $14.00 | Cap: None

Starlight & Sparkles | Oil Slick Pendant

Inspiration: Inspired by oil slick on asphalt. Because 2020 has been garbage.

Description: This pendant uses a black pendant tray and a glass cabochon, and showcases the fantastically shifty gorgeousness of red to green shifting old school unicorn pee pigment! They show shift all the way from fiery crimson to vivid green to beautiful almost-indigo blue at extreme angles – like the rainbow of an oil slick, but even more intense! The outline of the same overlapping spiral/criss-cross pattern that is on the back of the pendants shows under the pigment in the pendant, like seeing the outline of asphalt’s uneven texture through an oil slick on its surface.

I always loved the shiftiness of unicorn pee pigment, and this pendant is definitely shifty! It also really pops with the black hardware and cord.

Price: $11.00 | Cap: 300 US / 30 UK

Starlight and Sparkles | Toxic

Inspiration: Inspired by Britney Spears’ Toxic! This polish’s inspiration is Britney Spears’ Toxic, a song that has made it onto a lot of people’s quarantine playlists. This polish is by request from people who loved our November PPU polish, Silver as the Moon, Shining as the Stars and wanted to see it in neutral!

Description: Toxic is a warm, tan neutral crelly base with silver holo pigment and silver holographic microglitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: 150 US / 15 UK

Static Lacquer | I’ve Lived My Life Like There’s No Tomorrow

Inspiration: Paying tribute to the legend that is Eddie Van Halen. One dollar from every bottle sold will be donated to Crew Nation. This organization was created this year to help support the crews of traveling bands and venues who have been out of work this year due to COVID-19.

Description: I’ve Lived My Life Like There’s No Tomorrow is a warm toned red jelly base with black and white matte glitters and a subtle amount of scattered holo. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $12.00 | Cap: None

STELLA CHROMA | Social Distancing In Style

Inspiration: Inspired by One of my favorite 2020 memes – the lady in a giant purple hoop skirt

Description: Social Distancing In Style is a creamy purple base with gold to green to aqua to purple to magenta shifting shimmer. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: None

STELLA CHROMA | Emulsified Sugar Scrub

Inspiration: Inspired by the amount of sage we’d need to burn to cleanse 2020

Description: Stella Chroma’s Emulsified Sugar Scrub is an incredibly fine particle sugar that’s densely packed in. Dig a little out of the jar, massage into your hands then rinse and keep rubbing it in while rinsing. Your hands will feel smooth, soft and incredible.

This month’s scrub is an essential oil blend of citrus fruits and safe! The scent is softer than I expected, but I prefer it this way for the citrus and sage scent profile. The result is a nice, refreshing and zesty, unisex sugar scrub.

Price: $6.50 | Cap: None

Supernatural Lacquer | Modern-day Seance

Inspiration: Inspired by Zoom meetings

Description: Modern-day Seance is a light blue crelly inspired by the Zoom Meetings logo with orange to gold to green shimmer and flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $12.50 | Cap: 170 US / 5 UK

Swamp Gloss | Self Report & Weep

Inspiration: Inspired by A little blue space bean

Description: Self Report & Weep is a dark blue holographic jelly base, with holographic micro glitters and holographic micro flakes. This shade dries down with a texture, so you will most likely need 2 coats of top coat to smooth over. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $12.50 | Cap: 180 US / 20 UK

Sweet & Sour Lacquer | All Panic, No Disco

Inspiration: Inspired by A disco ball with the caption “All Panic No Disco”

Description: All Panic, No Disco is a pale, semi sheer gunmetal grey jelly base filled with pink to purple to gold to green iridescent flakes as well as pink to blue to green aurora shimmer. I used 3 thin coats on the index and pinky, and 1 coat over black on middle and ring, and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $12.50 | Cap: 200 US / 20 UK

The Lady Varnishes | Hindsight Is 2020

Inspiration: Inspired by Cool specs

Description: Hindsight Is 2020 is a sheer black jelly base loaded with sterling silver flakes and clear holo glitters. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Will dry to a very mild texture, however, considering flake content it was relatively smooth. I only needed 1 coat of top coat for a completely smooth finish.

Price: $13.00 | Cap: 150 US / 15 UK

The Soapy Chef | Self Care Solid Lotion Bar

Inspiration: Inspired by the need for self care to cope with anxiety in 2020

Description: This delicious solid lotion bar makes you want to take extra time to care about yourself. A slightly softer core of deep chocolate in the center will be released as you use the bar. This bar will help nourish the skin and moisturize the dry areas without greasiness or stickiness.

Truth be told, lotion bars are my favorite self care item that isn’t cuticle related. I like the “less mess” approach and especially love using them on my arms and legs after a shower. A lotion bar is essentially solid lotion, and the bar heats and melts a bit on contact with heat from your skin – so it distributes the lotion that way.

This lotion bar has scent notes of cardamom, bitter chocolate, roasted espresso beans, allspice, with a hint of vanilla bean. It smells a lot like hot chocolate to me.. or a mocha thats more chocolate than espresso.

Price: $7.00 | Cap: 70 US / 5 UK

The Crafty Taco | Peak 2020: Mini Purrrmaid Acrylic Pin

Inspiration: Inspired by an original ink and watercolor artwork

Description: 2020 is going out in the most 2020 way possible. I ordered some fun acrylic pins featuring the moderately-famous Purrrmaid. Of course, I didn’t notice that I was buying the tiniest of tiny sizes. I don’t think I could have made a more 2020 mistake.

This teeny tiny pin is made of crystal clear acrylic and each one comes with a plastic cover that protects the glass-like finish until you decide to remove it. Or never remove it, if you’re like me.

Since this was a hilarious Oops on The Crafty Taco’s part, she have decided to donate the profits from this little pin to the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women.

Seriously – this pin is the cutest.

Price: $3.00 | Cap: 40 US / 5 UK

Three C’s | 2020 Nailed It! What we ordered vs. What we got! Decal

Inspiration: Inspired by Nailed It!  Unicorn Cake

Description: When what you expect and what you get don’t look anything alike.  2020 has proven to be like that for many of us. This gorgeous decal shifts from gunmetal ( in low light) to a dazzling rainbow holographic (in bright light).

Of course I had to put it on this month’s prop trashcan! It was perfect and now it not only makes a great reminder of 2020… but it’s decorated to show my hobby!

Price: $6.00 | Cap: No cap

QDTC by Top Shelf Lacquer | Holo-days Glaze

Inspiration: The holidays are coming…..finally, and the end of the year festivities

Description: Holo-Days Glaze is a quick dry top coat base with silver holographic micro flecks mixed in. Since it’s a top coat – this cuts out a step if you want to add some sparkle to a mani and go! No need for additional top coat.

I used 1 coat over a black creme for these photos.

Price: $9.00 | Cap: None

Top Shelf Lacquer | Wipe away 2020!

Twisting Nether Lacquer | Gamers are Never Alone

Inspiration: Gamers don’t have to worry about being stuck inside and social distancing. We prefer to be inside with our online friends anyways!

Description: Gamers Are Never Alone is a black jelly  base with iridescent multichrome shimmer, silver holo micro flakes and shreds and holo sparkle. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Price: $12.50 | Cap: 120 US / 20 UK

Deluxe Acetone Additive by Unicorn Magic Skincare | Grateful for You

Inspiration: Inspired by “Throughout the crazy and unsettling year that has been 2020 so far, I feel the only thing I can truly count on and find comfort in is my beautiful family, they are my rock my everything and for them I am eternally grateful.”

Description: Unicorn Magic Skincare has a Grateful For You acetone additive for us this month, and it’s a festive combination of mint, pine, cedarwood and vanilla buttercream and tonka bean.

The most prominent scents for me are the mint and vanilla buttercream. there is a pine undertone that is a little harder to detect, but it is there and helps cut the sweetness of the buttercream.

Acetone Additive is a oil and glycerine mixture that you add to remover to cut the harshness of the remover on your skin. The added oils and glycerine give some moisture back instead of allowing to remover to strip it away.

This is a 1 oz bottle, so most likely you’ll be able to get 3 uses out of it minimum.

Price: $4.75 | Cap: 200 US / 20 UK

Vapid Wax | Bourbon & Bad Decisions

Inspiration: Inspired by The dumpster fire that is 2020

Description: A dumpster fire filled with aged bourbon whiskey, smoky charred wood, while roasting marshmallows lightly drizzled with caramel.

Bourbon is Nick’s drink of choice when he has one, and I’m not the biggest fan of the scent of bourbon, so I was worried about this one. However, the light sweetness of the marshmallows and caramel cuts the “bite” it can have, and it ends up being a pleasant scent. Add in a little cigar-ish scent, and it’s what I would think a comfortable, well used study would smell like.

My nose mainly picks up bourbon and caramel. I can detect the marshmallows, and I think they get drowned in the caramel sweetness a bit.

Price: $5.00 | Cap: None

Vibrant Vinyls | Fast & Hard QDTC (Scented)

Inspiration: Inspired by Wrapping up 2020

Description: Just in time for the holidays and finally the end of 2020. Wrap It Up is an enticing blend of blackberries and raspberries with notes of French vanilla.

I detect the raspberries above all else and it’s so delicious smelling. There is a hint of vanilla, but the berries definitely steal the show

Fast & Hard is a super glossy quick dry top coat that can be applied over wet polish without issue. It also works over stamping, just make sure you float the top coat!

For this mani I used KBShimmer Stream On, Stream Away as a base, and Lumen nail powder to stamp with.

Price: $8.00 | Cap: None

Vibrant Vinyls | Double Bond Base Coat (Scented)

Inspiration: Inspired by Wrapping up 2020

Description: Just in time for the holidays and finally the end of 2020. Wrap It Up is an enticing blend of blackberries and raspberries with notes of French vanilla.

I detect the raspberries above all else and it’s so delicious smelling. There is a hint of vanilla, but the berries definitely steal the show

Double Bond is a ridge filling base coat and sticky base coat in 1. Best of both worlds.

Price: $8.00 | Cap: None

What Addiction | To New Beginnings and Better Endings

Inspiration: Inspired by A quote by Chico Xavier: “Though nobody can go back and make a new beginning… Anyone can start over amd make a new ending.”

Description: To New Beginnings and Better Endings is an almost ruby red jelly with aurora shimmer and a mix of ultrachrome and chroma flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This shade is a touch more vampy in person and I actually quite adore it.

Price: $14.00 | Cap: 150 US / 10. UK

Whatcha | Cuticle Remover

Inspiration:

Description: Whatcha brings us a cuticle remover this month! For the first time that I’ve seen though, it’s in a spray bottle.

The remover itself I liked. It wasn’t super thick and it got the job done. I’m not sure how I feel about the spray application though. I had to hold the nozzle close to the cuticle, other wise it would be all over my fingers and the nearest surface I’m working at.

I did like the smaller, more polish bottle looking style, but the spray is different.

Overall though – the product did a fabulous job.

Price: $10.00 | Cap: Cap 50 US / 10 UK

Whatcha | The Green

Inspiration: inspired by a virtual game that went viral during the pandemic.
