The Mighty Nein Collection

I have 2 more Black Friday posts to finish up today… so I got up a little early to work on them while I wait for people in the house to wake up. To kick off the day – we’ll be looking at Lemming Lacquer The Mighty Nein Collection!

Cassie of Lemming Lacquer pulled inspiration from Critical Role’s show intro. I am actually new to this and hadn’t see it before, so it was fun to kind of get the feel of it.

From Cassie:

In case you’re not familiar with Critical Role or The Mighty Nein, Critical Role is “where a bunch of us nerdy-ass voice actors sit around and play Dungeons & Dragons.” The Mighty Nein are an adventuring party exploring the world of Exandria and beyond, trying to leave every town better than they found it.

So that’s what we’re looking at today! There are 9 polishes total, and from Black Friday to Cyber Monday you can get 10% off this collection. She will have a 20% off going in her shop, but this set is not included. The code will be IBCFRIDAY19.

Let’s get started!

Lemming Lacquer | Jester

Jester is a bright blue crelly with green shimmer, pink to purple to orange to gold iridescent flakes and a scattering of holo dust and microflakes. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspired by Jester Lavorre, a tiefling cleric of The Traveler.

Lemming Lacquer | Fjord (Thermal)

Fjord is a deep green (cold) to lime green (cold) thermal with gold to green shimmer and iridescent flakes shifting from shades of blue, turquoise, teal, lime, gold and copper. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspired by Fjord, a half-orc Hexblade (Pact of the Blade) warlock/paladin.

Lemming Lacquer | Beau

Beau is a cyan to blue to ultraviolet multichrome in a dark blue jelly base with iridescent flakes shifting indigo, blue, turquoise, cyan and blue-green. There’s a touch more green to the flakes in person that my camera isn’t picking up. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspired by Beau Lionett, a human monk of The Cobalt Soul.

Lemming Lacquer | Caleb

Caleb is a chocolate brown jelly with orange to red shifting shimmer, gold to orange to red iridescent flakes and red to bronze to copper multichrome flakes. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspired by Caleb Widogast, a fire bug human wizard with a very special cat.

Lemming Lacquer | Nott

Nott is a forest green jelly with gold to green shimmer, and iridescent flakes shifting gold, orange, copper, lime and green. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspired by Nott, also known as Nott the Brave, a goblin rogue.

Lemming Lacquer | Yasha (Thermal)

Yasha is a black (cold) to light grey (warm) thermal with purple shimmer, gunmetal and black to purple microflakes, holographic microflakes, and purple to green iridescent flakes.  I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

This dries with a mild texture, so you may need 2 coats of top coat for a smooth finish.

Inspired by Yasha Nydoorin, also known as The Orphan Maker, a fallen aasimar barbarian.

Lemming Lacquer | Mollymauk

Mollymauk is a red to copper to gold multichrome in a magenta jelly base with blue to purple to gold and purple to blue to green iridescent flakes.  I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspired by Mollymauk Tealeaf, a very peacockish tiefling bloodhunter.

Lemming Lacquer | Caduceus

Caduceus is a bright mint green base with pink to purple shifting shimmer and iridescent flakes shifting purple to red to orange to gold. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspired by Caduceus Clay, a firbolg cleric who worships The Wildmother

Lemming Lacquer | Dungeon Master (Magnetic)

Dungeon Master is a cyan to blue to purple mulitchrome in an indigo base with holographic dust and microflakes and green to gold to violet multichrome magnetic flakes. I only used a magnet over the middle and ring fingers so you can see this shade magnetized and unmagnetized. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Inspired by Matthew Mercer and all DMs everywhere.

Lemming Lacquer | The Mighty Nein Collection

It’s a beautifully done collection, and my top picks are definitely Jester, Yasha and Caleb.

I had no application issues, however some of the shades (Caleb, Beau and Jester) are flake heavy, so I do recommend thinner coats to get a nice, even lay of flakes without them bunching up. This also helps to keep the texture smooth and only require 1 coat of top coat.
