I just finished my last Saturday of work during tax season! Although I’m a little worn out and sleepy, I wanted to get this post up for today. What post is that? The KBShimmer Multichromes, of course!

KBShimmer has 2 new collections launching at Polish Con on April 29th and online on May 5th. I’ll have the second collection up in a bit (they are neons and my camera isn’t happy with me over them!) Each collection is 6 pieces. So along with the Polish Con exclusives, you’ll also have these to look forward to (at least those going to Polish Con will!)

This is the second (I think?) multichrome collection KBShimmer has done. I think there were some shifty shades thrown in here and there, but back in Winter of 2013 KBShimmer had a whopping 22 piece collection (yeah, 22!) and within it were 6 multichromes, 3 of which are still available on the KBShimmer site. This mini collection is adding  6 more multichromes to the KBShimmer lineup, and I personally think they were worth the wait.

Let’s take a look at the 6 new multichromes!

Chroma Chameleon

Chroma Chameleon is a vibrant multichrome that shifts from a bright fuchsia pink, to a coppery rose, then a soft gold, to a spring green. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Puns and Roses

Puns and Roses at some angles in photos almost looks like Chroma Chameleon, but it’s really not. This is a multichrome that shifts from a deep rose to yellow gold to green. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. Head on you can tell they are different, but some angles made them look incredibly similar.

It’s A Blazing

It’s A Blazing is pretty much Fall in a bottle. It starts of a warm, rich burgundy-ish red and shifts to a rich bronze then to a yellow and orange. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Flip Flop Hooray

Flip Flop Hooray is a gorgeous multichrome that starts out as a rich emerald green and shifts to teal to navy to purple and some magenta and red. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Iridescent Exposure

Iridescent Exposure is a beautiful blue that quickly shifts to teal to purple to magenta and red. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Wine Not?

The sixth and final shade in this gorgeous mini collection is Wine Not? This starts off as a rich grape and quickly shifts to burgundy to gold to bronze. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

KBShimmer Multichromes Overview

Application wise these were really good. Because they are chrome, there are some visible brush strokes. It’s fairly typical, and once you see the shifting no one will care. I did use 3 thin coats for all of my photos, but 2 normal coats would probably work just fine. I did not use a base color with any of these photos, so what you see is 100% the polishes themselves. For the photos I used my normal lighting setup, so all the shiftiness is from 2 simple ottlites – but in normal lighting you actually see more shift.

If you want to own all of the KBShimmer multichromes, you will be able to grab these 6 as on April 29th (May 5th if you will not be attending Polish Con) but Shade Shifter, Rollin’ With The Chromies and Pigment of my Imagination from her 2013 release are still online in her shop. To get your hands on Urban Camo, Pretty In Punk or Myth You Lots, you’ll have to look at reselling groups.

I will have the neon collection from KBShimmer up soon as well, I just want to retake 2 photos because … well neons are jerks.

What did you think of the new KBShimmer Multichromes? Which ones will you be picking up?

How do these compare to the Different Dimension multichromes?

Some of them are actually fairly similar. Wine Not? by KBShimmer and Nirvana from Different Dimension look so incredibly similar, I don’t think both are needed. Same with DD Fireball and KBS It’s A Blazing. There might be some very small differences, but overall there are probably 4 shades (possibly 5) between the 2 brands that would be so close you can buy one or the other and be fine.

These are the types of polishes that sold me on KBShimmer in the first place. I have 2 Shade Shifters because of its beauty. I want several of these too. These are just stunning.
